Absolutely loved the house and location. Check-in process needs to be improved. We had to stop at realty office to get code for the door, and added 20 minutes to our trip. Overall, everything was great.

Girls Trip

The location was amazing. Easy walk to restaurants on Sullivan's Island and ocean. There were only 4 of us but the house could sleep many more. The beds were clean and comfortable! There is a lot of 'stuff' in the house but overall clean. There were no eating utensils (at least we couldn't find them). Other than that, kitchen is well stocked. It was a wonderful get away!

Old Sullivan’s Island charm and comfort

Loved the vintage feel and charm of this property. It is perfectly located near the center of the island with many restaurant choices. The home is well equipped and nicely decorated. My family all loved our accommodations and would recommend this property. My recommendations are that the exterior could use a good power washing and some space be cleared in the kitchen for pantry items in the kitchen.

It wasn’t until we had booked the place that I realized people’s *actual reviews* were hidden under the generic ones. Luckily we didn’t use the downstairs rooms as many of the reviews mentioned, the smell of mold was bad & I am highly allergic to it. The cleaning people had managed to cover the musty smell upstairs with a sickly honeysuckle air freshener. Location is great. Needs improvements to make it worth the cost.

Just splendid!!

Our family had the best of time at your place. The place was just steps away from the beach and easily accessible. It was kid friendly. We had a bunch of teenagers as well in our group who enjoyed the most as the house was just setup right for big groups. Plenty of seating areas. Wonderfully furnished. Bedrooms were spacious as well as adequately furnished. It was a wonderful stay overall. The maintenance staff were also really supportive and prompt. We did have couple of minor issues raised and they attended to us immediately. One of those was the unique Dishwasher which needed to be plugged in when needed. Other than that, the house is a second home for anyone travelling to Charleston.

Moldy smell/ water damage visible on ceilings

Two out of five rooms are in the basement of the house, next to the garage and have water issues. The ceilings are peeling due to water damage, the shower heads are rusty and the overall moldy smell in the basement and house are not bearable.

Nice location and home but....

Nice property, plenty of space, location is central to the area and easy to get where you need to go. However, I would recommend investigating some HVAC zoning for the upper and lower floors. Our stay was hot to say the least. From the time we arrived to the time we left this unit hovered at 76-78 degrees and would only drop to a moderately comfortable level of 74 at night but never lower than that.

June family Get Away

I love this house. It is like stepping back in time to the house I lived in as a little girl. There were 10 of us and we had more than enough room. We could all go to our own spaces and have solitude if needed. The neighborhood is perfect. The yard is excellent. the screened in porch is a love of mine. We sat out there every night and talked for hours. The kitchen is huge and well put together. We made huge breakfasts and dinners and everyone ate together. The walk to the beach is very easy. Anything you might need ,you will find in this house. I love it. We will definitely stay again next year and this time for longer.

My only complaint was that it was a bit musty smelling. Location was perfect! Amenities we're just right. Would love to go back when we had more time to enjoy. Would be great for a relaxing vacation. It was wonderful to spend time with family who had traveled from Montana, Michigan, West Virginia and South Carolina!

The house would be delightful if the owners invested in the property. A/C ductwork needs sealed. Crawlspace /foundation needs immediate attention

Cozy, Rustic beach days

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We returned to a house we stayed in quite a few times. Enough that everyone has their own room and knows the ropes of the house. We stayed here first because the price was low and it was big enough to host our big crew of a family. It’s an old house in need of lots of repairs and a good ole southern cleaning but the character keeps us coming back. The front porch is my favorite part of the home and I could sit here for days working puzzles and reading books. Unfortunately there was ALOT of rain and almost every yard on Sullivan’s island was flooded. Many streets and every walkway to the beach. You had to walk through knee to ankle high mud and muck that smelled like sewage to get to the beach which was really gross. But...because of that the beach was almost secluded which I’m sure is unheard of in Nuly at the beach. I had to use my 4x4 to get in the driveway. Overall it was another wonderful, relaxing beach week..and hopefully they will leave the price down and we will keep coming back. Island Realty is wonderful to work with and always quick to respond to any needs.

Hurricane Matthew Evacuation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I chose this house as a home base for my wedding in Summerville. I loved this house. I plan on staying here again. Unfortunately hurricane Matthew forced us to leave. I've been through hurricanes before and as soon as I knew we were being evacuated I went to get gas as fast as possible. The huge lines had begin and the fighting. I rushed back to the rental and packed my family up in about 15 minutes so we could leave charleston as fast as possible. I was running in and out of this house. I know I left the refrigerator full of food. Sorry!!! I was able to fill up my tank about 30 minutes outside of the city and drive straight home. I felt bad for leaving the house in disarray but I was so relieved to make it out safely. I received a full refund for our stay including the days we stayed at the property. I managed to move my wedding to Atlanta and it was glorious. Thank you so much island reality for being easy to work with and understanding.

Just Okay

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was dated (as one can surmise from the pictures), but roomy. Two fairly major concerns cropped up. The porch roof leaks. And I don't mean just a bit, thinks splashing water and ruined electronics if left out.Apparently the owners said they would fix the leak, but we never saw anyone one the roof the entire next week when we stayed on the island in a different house. I suspect that won't get fixed, so be prepared to be inside if you have a rainy beach week. Also, the two downstairs bedrooms share a bath, as noted. But what is not disclosed is that you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other or get to the main part of the house. Not a problem for us as we didn't use all of the rooms, but if I was a young married couple I wouldn't like it very much if the other couple in the room behind mine had to disrupt our privacy every time they wanted to go upstairs. Just think that ought to be disclosed. Otherwise, no complaints.
