Dave and Lori are phenomenal hosts! So warm, welcoming, kind, and accommodating. I stayed in 2 properties, 6 and 17. Both were great but 17 had a Lakeview that created the perfect atmosphere for morning coffee and evening grilling. I HIGHLY recommend Lakeshore Retreats! My family and I will be back!

A great Lakehead cabin!

This is a great property for multiple people. It even has a view of the lake, which was enjoyable with a cup of coffee every morning. Not far from the lake, we enjoyed renting a ski boat, jet skis and a pontoon boat. I highly recommend!

Great Cabin

Beautiful and spacious spot for us to stay a long weekend. Easy access to Sugarloaf Dock. Cabin had everything and we loved our time there. Remember to bring your spices, olive oil, etc.

This house was great for staying/ boating at Lake Shasta. It is close to boat launch/ marina & also a local grocery store down the street. It is easy to find & is a cozy, quiet neighbourhood where we saw deer every night. I would definatly refer a friend or stay again

High school Graduation celebration

We asked our daughter where she wanted to go to celebrate her graduation. She chose Shasta we sat and looked at house and she picked this one. Having the lake up was a major plus we were able to walk right down to the water. We absolutely loved the design and decor of the house, you can go from chilling on the deck to watching tv to playing a round of pool or Wii. Major plus each sleeping area had their own bathroom with shower!

The perfect Chalet

This was my second year staying in this property and my family and I have enjoyed to max. The closeness to the lake the layout of the home and the amount of people it can sleep is the perfect family getaway. Aug 2019. Was a blast. Once again much gratitude to Mark.

Enjoyed our stay immensely! Great neighborhood, close to Sugarloaf Marina where we moored our boat.

Property well maintained and house was very clean. Towels and sheets were high quality, beds comfortable and kitchen well stocked with cookware. Outside storage had extra propane for BBQ and coolers and other items for guest's convenience. The only thing missing was bee traps/wasp catchers that we should have thought to bring with us at this time of year. Would definitely stay again! Thanks for a great Shasta experience!

Very nice vacation home

My family and I were displaced by the Camp Fire and were scattered all over the place. I was able to rent this vacation home so we could all be together for Thanksgiving. The owner, Mark, graciously gave us a free night to help us. The place was clean, easy to find and well stocked. The HVAC worked well and we were all warm. The internet and cell service were intermittent, but all in all the place was wonderful.

Beautiful home

This home was perfect for our family and extended family vacation of 12 people. There were three floors, which allowed for some family members to be on the first level playing pool, darts and cards. The second floor was the main level which had the kitchen and two private bedrooms and was perfect for the older family members and the top floor which was a loft, had three additional queen beds which was perfect for another family. The owner was very responsive when I reached out with questions before and during our stay. We would stay there again and would recommend this home to anyone staying in the area.

Family Vacation

The house was clean, comfortable, and in a quiet neighborhood. There was no safe way to access the lake due to the lake being 30% full. However, the property was only a 20-minute drive to the Caverns, and Holiday Harbor where I rented a boat. My favorite part of the house was the ample deck and game room that kept everyone entertained including my 85-year-old father. Overall, we had a fantastic time, despite the lake's water levels being extremely low.

Wonderful stay, fabulous views

Came here with my husband, brother, and sister in law. This place is definitely spacious enough for at least two-three families. The four of us felt luxurious in this lovely three story cabin. Kitchen is well stocked and whole place is roomy. The game room was a nice touch. Between the heater and pellet fire place, we were cozy the entire time. The view can’t be beat—the entire living room wall is floor to ceiling window with a view of the lake. Even with how low the water was, it was a lovely scene. The beds were a little firm for our liking but our stay overall was comfortable. Mark was responsive and super helpful. We can’t wait to come back!

Wonderfully themed lake cabin

Our family of 8 stayed in this vacation cabin for the week that we spent at Shasta Lake. This home just seems loved. What I mean by that is that it is in impeccable condition and the attention to detail in the decorations are amazing. My littlest calls it the Bear Cabin because of all the wild life decor. We had ample space for our family, we could have easily slept more people. The grill was brand new and the outside deck was so peaceful. If the lake had been high we would have walked there evry day, but we chose to take the 1 minute drive to the dock. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking equipment, they even had a crock pot. The whole house was perfectly clean and maintained, we hope to stay here again soon!

Good location, clean, spacious and perfect stay for vacation!

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin for our vacation with friends and family! This place was more spacious, cozy and comfortable than we expected from the pictures! It is a 3 level cabin with game room downstairs and kitchen/bedrooms on the second floor and 2 more queen beds in the top loft floor, plus lake views from living room in the morning. For our group of 12 people, this worked out perfectly with so many beds and 3 bathrooms. Kitchen was also nicely stocked up and we had no issues prepping up meals. Easy parking space for 3 or more cars on the property. Nice big TV to watch Netflix and wood fireplaces to keep warm on the first and second floors. We enjoyed pool table, TV and dart games downstairs staying up late night having long conversations. Mark went above and beyond by offering us an extra complimentary day to make up for PG&E outage on the day of our arrival. We found internet password in the welcome book was not updated and we found it from the router but Mark was just a txt away to help. Overall, we loved our stay and will definitely stay at this cabin again!

Wonderful home right next to the lake

We've been to Shasta a few times in the last year and this was our second time staying at this property. Hands down our favorite place to stay. The location couldn't be better and the house is the perfect set up for two families. Adults had their own rooms and attached bathrooms and the kids stayed in the loft with their own bathroom as well. The downstairs basement was a great place to hang out and play pool in the evening and the deck was great for BBQing and relaxing at night. We never felt like we were tripping over each other. To top it all off, the house has plenty of parking for multiple cars and a large boat trailer. The house was very clean and extremely well stocked. We like to cook on vacation and the kitchen always had everything we needed. Mark, the owner, is also a pleasure to work with. He provides all house information up front with great directions and responds to texts and questions quickly. He has thought of everything. That takes a lot of stress off of our vacation planning! We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place at the lake.

Beautiful, great view, private - would love to come back!!!

My family of 6 and our 2 small dogs called this beautiful property home for 4 days between Christmas and New Years last month. The kitchen had everything you could think of to cook meals - we cooked all of our meals there and spent most of our time playing games and just being together. I just want to talk a little about the layout because it was hard for me to imagine before I got there and I think this may help as you plan your stay - especially if you have a bigger group. When you drive up, there is plenty of parking and the door with the code goes right into the downstairs game room with a pool table, fireplace, game table, tv and video games. We didn't spend much time down there because there wasn't a bathroom and also - stairs! Then, you go upstairs to the main level. To your immediate left is the master bedroom and bath (the bath has a convenient door leading to outside with a nice green grassy area where we would take our dogs out and not have to go downstairs to exit the house) and in front of the stair case is the guest bathroom and one private bedroom (this one has a ceiling fan which my oldest daughter enjoyed). Then to the right is the kitchen, dining room and family room (with big screen TV and fireplace)! This is where we spent most of our time. There are two sliding glass doors that lead out to a large patio with seating for 12 and a view of the lake! Off the family room is a stair case leading up the loft. In the pictures, I thought the loft was broken up into rooms - one with the 2 double beds and one with the futon (but it was basically one large loft - beautiful and open). My two sons took the two big beds and my youngest daughter (14) took the futon -- she would have liked a little more privacy and she also complained that as soon as we got up to start cooking breakfast she could hear everything! It didn't bother me though, just thought I'd mention it. There is also a full bath upstairs that the 3 kids used and liked that they didn't have to keep it picked up because I never went up there (except to help figure out who was sleeping where when we arrived)! The owners provided pellets for the stove in the family room and a few duraflame logs in the game room downstairs, but we didn't use them. The heater worked really well and the house was well insulated, so we didn't even run the heater much. The drive in to the property is beautiful and easy, no scary one way roads. Overall it was a great trip!

Everything we hoped for

Our party of 6 had a great time. Marina and boat launch was super close. House was fully stocked and functional. It was 105 degrees all weekend and the house stayed cool. The game room was a fun addition. We saw lots of wildlife. We plan on coming back next summer.

Great home, great weekend!

Stayed for 4 days 3 nights. House was just like it looked in the pictures. Super quick response from owners when we needed something. They also checked in to make sure we were happy with everything. Good neighborhood. We had a great time. We were planning our next trip before we left.

Beautiful view, amazing property!

We loved our stay! It was perfect for our family reunion! ( we rented 3 houses right by each other) This house I particular had lots of space and the game room was perfect for the kids who wanted to stay out of the heat. It was very comfortable. The deck was awesome. Very relaxing . The water was so warm!

With over two decades of cherished family memories at Shasta Lake, we, David and Lori, came to regard Shasta Lake as the highlight of our summers. It's a place where families can bond, and where the range of activities appeals to every age group, making it the perfect spot for a family getaway.

Our love for Shasta Lake runs deep, leading us to make a life-changing decision in 2015 when we purchased our first lakefront home, known as Shasta Lakeshore Retreat #1. The incredible experiences we had here were simply too good not to share and we knew our houseboat days were over after staying in this home.

A year later, we acquired the property next door, now known as Shasta Lakeshore Retreat #2, bolstered by the popularity of our first home, which had become a year-round favorite.

In 2019, our two grown sons also fell in love with this wonderful place, prompting them to buy a home on the same charming street, christened as Shasta Lakeshore Retreat #3. They entrusted us with its management, a responsibility we take to heart. All three homes required significant investment and remodeling as they had been neglected for years.

After many requests from dear friends and neighbors, in 2021 we started managing other properties, which further enriched our collection. Although we only own two of them, today, we proudly represent 18 remarkable homes, each carefully selected for its unique charm, quality, and comfort. We firmly believe that an extraordinary home is the foundation of an unforgettable getaway, and we want nothing less than perfection for our valued guests.

Our journey doesn't end here; it's an ongoing adventure inspired by our passion for Shasta & the surrounding areas. We are committed to carefully expanding our offerings, reviewing additional unique homes to provide more options for all the wonderful families that come to visit this recreational area year after year providing them a much needed lodging option.

Location, Location, Location. Homes that are close to the water with lakefront or lakeview locations and on private land are extremely rare on Shasta Lake. This home is located on the best street (Daisy Lane) in the highly desired Sugarloaf area of Lakehead off the Sacramento Arm of the Lake. It offers views of the lake through the trees, mountains and wildlife with a short walk to the lake, marina and boat ramp (depending on lake level). You will love this home.
