Anna itsellesi lahja oleskelustasi yhdessä maailman kauneimmista paikoista. Paradise Cove-talo sijaitsee omalla yksinäisellä rannalla Paradise Covessa, jolta on henkeäsalpaavat näkymät Rainbow Glacierille ja Chilkat-vuoriston lumihuippuisiin huippuihin. Haluatko päästä eroon 'ulkopuolisen' maailman jatkuvasta värisemisestä ja vaatimuksista? Tässä on paikka, jossa on rauhaa.

Viehättävä, maalaistyylinen talo on kaksipuolinen käsin halkaistujen seetrivaurioiden kanssa. Sisällä se on tilava ja aurinkoinen. Alakerran avoin suunnitelma mahdollistaa miellyttävän virtauksen tiloissa. Se on täysin varustettu keittiö ja ruokasali, josta on upeat näkymät.

Talon erityispiirre on, että päärakennuksen ohella on oheinen liite sen valoisalla auringonotolla. Päärakennus ja liite mahdollistavat eron kahden osapuolen tai kahden perheen kanssa, jotka jakavat vuokran.

Talon kaksi vasta uusittua kylpyhuonetta tarjoavat moderneja kalusteita. Päärakennuksessa on yksi kylpyhuone ja lisärakennuksessa yksi kylpyhuone, joka tarjoaa yksityisyyden kahdelle taloa jakavalle osapuolelle. Päärakennuksen kylpyhuoneessa on sekä suihku että kylpyamme. Lisäkylpyhuoneessa on suihku, jossa on sisäänrakennettu istuin.

Päärakennuksen yläkerrassa makuuhuoneessa on queen-vuode. Pienemmässä yläkerran makuuhuoneessa on sekä queen-vuode että sänky.

Liitteen koko yläkerrassa on tilava makuuhuone, jossa queen-size-vuode, keinutuoli ja rakkausistuin. Sekä päärakennuksen makuuhuoneessa että lisämakuuhuoneessa on upeat näkymät.

Kaksi Pack n 'Play -vauvansänkyä on saatavana pienten majoittamiseen.

Tämä on mukava, tilava ja hyvin lämmitetty Alaskan perheen talo, joka tarjoaa kaikki mukavuudet, joita tarvitset nautinnolliseen oleskeluun.

A beautiful place to stay

We enjoyed everything about our stay in Paradise Cove. It’s a beautiful property, surrounded by roses, berries, and fruit trees. Then there is the expansive views of the Chilkat Range and—front and center—Rainbow Glacier and falls. Stunning, even by Alaska standards.

Perfection

Beautiful, comfortable, well-maintained waterfront property with astounding views from every room. Very private but a stones throw from town. Great amenities. Cecily is very communicative and she even left us some fresh veggies from her garden! Absolutely magical.

Spectacular Setting

The s was a great property in Haines. The view and surroundings right on the beach were great. The home definitely has a cabin feel to it which adds to the charm. Excellent for a family. And the hosts are Easy and great to work with.

Amazing view of Rainbow Glacier.

Alaska is magical and our stay at Paradise Cove was equally matched with the breathtaking view. Our host Cecily was very gracious and replied promptly to our questions, including allowing us to enjoy the various berries on the property. The cottage had everything we needed for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. One longing we left having was to go onto the water in a canoe or kayak, as the islet was a short walk down the front of the cottage but Haines does not offer such services due to liability concerns. Everything else about our stay was amazing.

Just about paradise

This is a charming, rustic country house on the Mud Bay with stunning mountain/glacier/waterfall views, close to spectacular hikes and wildlife--eagles and bears right outside. The hosts are kind, friendly and very responsive if there are any little glitches. The house has a very well equipped kitchen compared to most vacation rentals, even an espresso maker(!) The layout of the house provides space for privacy and togetherness. We are return visitors and really appreciate this beautiful home away from home.

Breathtaking Views! Amazing waterfront cottage and garden.

This house is perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing stay in the Haines area. Watch bald eagles while sipping morning coffee. Enjoy the tranquility of the protected cove from the properties manicured lawn. Poke around the cottage style garden. View Rainbow glacier from one of the many picture windows. Space to sit and visit or play games in this vintage style country cottage.

Great stay on a beautiful piece of Haines beach front

We just stayed at Paradise Cove and it was great. We were able to launch our kayaks from the beach. The gardens are beautiful and the view of Rainbow glacier is amazing. We were there with my parents and it was perfect for the 4 of us and it could comfortably sleep 6. Quirky house in some regards but that is the charm of it with neat old furniture and cool little nooks to hang out in. Only thing it needs is a bbq to cook our fish on and a shower (only a tub right now) but I understand those things are on their way Would highly recommend it. Plan to stay there again soon. Would be great for a group of people.

Just book it, best Alaska experience!

Upon our arrival our mouths dropped open from the view! This was our third trip to Alaska and this view was by far the best. Words cannot describe it! The directions were spot on, and we didn't have any trouble locating the property. The owners were very easy to communicate with and very quick to reply, they checked in to make sure we had everything we needed via text. The beds were super comfortable, with plenty of extra pillows and blankets, we also had great water pressure in the showers. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to make great meals at home. My husband bought a fishing pole in town and actually caught a small Halibut right on the rocky beach below the cabin. The drive to town was breathtaking and the people are the friendliest and most helpful. The saying is true, people come for the adventure and stay for the people. When they asked us where we were staying, we always received the same response, Nice! Halibut fish and chips at the Bamboo room and hamburgers at the 33 Mile Roadhouse were the best we've ever eaten. Bears in the early mornings at Chilkoot Lake was a treat and free! We also took a flight tour of Glacier Bay National Park with Mountain Flying Service, Paul the owner was fantastic, take the long tour, it's so worth it. We had a wonderful time, and I will have to break my own rule of not staying in the same place twice, for this I will happily make an exception, we will be back no doubt about it. Stunning view!

Paradise Cove is stunningly beautiful. I felt humbled by the sight and privileged to have stayed in this home built by a family who has put their best into this rustic but very comfortable house. The kitchen has the basics of utensils needed to prepare a meal. If you want to use the grill be sure to buy charcoal and lighter fluid from the town market before arriving. There are books galore to read, games, and puzzles to entertain when you aren’t out sightseeing, fishing, or hiking. Porpoises are visible in the cove and eagles fly overhead. I would like to recommend that the oven door be checked. It was hard to fully open it, actually a hazard, especially after the oven had heated. Also, for me, the $200 nightly fee was misleading. All of the VRBO rentings I have paid for before, listed the nightly fee for rental of the HOUSE (up to the limit of the number of people the house sleeps), which when totaled was/is divided amongst the number of people staying. Cecily has the rental fee listed per couple (two), per night and then multiplies the fee by the number of people staying. So... if there are only two people staying the cost of the HOUSE is much less. Thanks, Cecily, for sharing your beautiful home. If we return to Haines, your home, if available, would be my first choice to stay. Kay

Breathtaking Views; House a challenge

My husband and I are active, in our sixties, and make several trips per year to all areas of our great land. In most cases, we rent a home or condo through VRBO. We have seldom been disappointed. In our former visits to Alaska we have rented homes/cabins/condos in Girdwood, Denali, Seward, and Juneau. All rentals have been a minimum of three days; most of them a week. When looking for a rental, I first look at the property description/photos and then carefully read the reviews. An honest review can save a potential renter surprises and undue distress. First let me say that this house has the best view of any property we have ever rented. The wall facing the water is totally glass, allowing you to sit in the living/dining area and look for bald eagles, sea otters, and birds. One morning a whale was spotted directly in front of the house, and a Mama Moose and her baby walked along the beach. There are chairs in the yard to sit and chat, read a book, or just relax. Directly across the water is Rainbow Glacier with twin waterfalls which can be heard on a quiet day. The spectacular scenery that one comes to Alaska to view is right before your eyes. The house, however, was a challenge. We rented the entire house just to have access to the second bathroom. Both are newly installed and are on the first floor. As stated in the description of the house, all bedrooms are on the second floor, 14 steps away from the bathrooms. Sofas are outdated and uncomfortable. Cookware is available but is in deplorable condition. We went into town the first day and bought a non-stick skillet so we could cook breakfast at the house. The owners have a right to be very proud of their beautiful property. They have been nothing but cordial and cooperative. We did not complain to them while there, choosing to make the best of our week in Haines. We understand that this house is a "work in progress" but wish we had been there after the work was complete. Just know what you are getting before you go.

Exceeded our expectations!

The hosts were great throughout the entire process. Property is clean and well maintained, both inside and out. Great place to relax. We used the property as a home base for daily excursions, returning to "home" every night. The view of Rainbow Glacier is awesome.

Paradise Visit

A very well loved, homey country house in a strikingly beautiful setting, looking out on Mud Bay the mountains, and Rainbow Glacier—with a waterfall so powerful that even from far across the bay you can hear it from the yard. The house is perfectly situated close to hikes in the enchanted forests of beautiful Haines and a short drive from the town amenities(good local coffee roaster/organic grocer/local distillery/great pizza.) We appreciated the well stocked kitchen (not all VRBOs have all the necessary tools to make a good meal, and our host provided everything we needed.) Plus, we enjoyed the fresh organic greens from the garden. The bed was comfortable and the heating efficient. If you have to use the bathroom at night, be careful because the bathrooms are on the first floor and bedrooms are up steep flights of stairs. There is cool, authentic local roots music plus some vintage 60s/70’s sounds on cassette tape(!) that you can play on the working boom box. All in all, a perfect setting to just hang out and soak in the spectacular environment of Haines.

Beautiful view at Paradise Cove

The house has one of the best views that I’ve ever experienced. Glacier, mountains, otters, seals, porpoises and eagles could be seen every day. We quickly learned that a pair of eagles had their favorite trees to hang out in and would sometimes fly down in the beach in front of the house or just circle overhead. The house is older and would benefit from additional renovations/updated furniture, but the bathrooms are modern and the beds are comfortable. And the views and location are so worth sacrificing some modern comforts. The Alaska Marine Highway ferry was also a neat way to get to Haines from Juneau. Would highly recommend!

A truly magical place

For anyone seeking a very special place away from the business of the day-to-day, where each morning begins with a slightly different variation of "wow, look outside - I can't believe how beautiful it is or how fortunate I am right now@" - you can't go past Cecily and Mark's comfy, cozy, idealistic Paradise Cove home on the shores of Mud Bay, Haines. The home itself has a more lived-in feel, but that doesn't mean uncared for or scrappy by any means. I'm more referring to a home that has the comforts and space you would need, but is homely, not overly-glamorized or modern. It's a house that's been shown some love. In fact, the small touches - from the telescope pointing toward the stars above, or the binoculars available to guests to watch the towering ice of the melting Rainbow Glacier directly across the bay transform into aa pair of constantly running waterfalls that dissect the tall craggy mountains, to the well-kept gardens, the green green grass and especially "my favorite" the hammock swinging between 2 tall trees with a view to die for - this place was heaven! It's just a quick 10-15min easy and scenic drive into town, so no problems there and instructions for finding the place and our arrival were easy so no hassle there. The hosts were wonderful people who checked in on us occasionally, but were never "in our face"... And the whole small town of Haines was friendly and free and unpretentious and picturesque in that way that you would expect Alaska to be. We booked for 10 days, which for 2 current LA-urbanites, I worried may be too long to handle in such a small, isolated town without going just a little stir crazy. But as the days drew to a close, we knew if circumstances allowed, we could have stayed another month happily without getting bored by any of it. We saw so many bears at the nearby Chilkoot River, and bald eagles every day. There are wonderful hikes around the bay and trail-heads further along and fishing and kayaking and all sorts of outdoor adventures for those seeking that level of activity. Or you could just happily stay in, watch the ever-changing view, snuggle up, read a book, write, paint, chat, cook and drink - if that's more your thing. Most importantly, the Paradise Cove house is a place that reminds you the world is bigger than its current troubles and I highly recommend a visit to anyone of any age. Perfect and beautiful family getaway

We absolutely loved out stay at Paradise Cove. The property was easy to get to, spacious, and clean with tons of charm! We definitely will stay there again in the future!

Amazing

Absolute peace and quiet in a serene location. I could have spent entire days sitting in the chair in the yard watching the waterfalls below Rainbow Glacier… But there is so much more to see and enjoy. Cecily was a fantastic host. The house is comfortable and the property is a dream. A fantastic week.

Unbelievably beautiful.

This was our first time visiting the area and we were impressed. You will not find a more beautiful view to wake up to and end the day with. The property is well equipped, with ample heating and views for days. We enjoyed the ability to have two separate sitting areas for quite or alone time while traveling with family. Enjoyed our time and did not want to leave. Already looking forward to the next visit.

A True Slice of Paradise

For as long as I can remember, my father and I have always wanted to take a trip to Alaska. This last fall I logged on VRBO and searched the entire state and nothing captured my attention like this listing. I am so glad we chose Haines to visit and stayed at Paradise Cove. Each afternoon we watched the porpoise feeding in the Bay. We enjoyed panoramic views out of each and every room. We walked the shoreline and saw seals and even a sealion. Just a short drive down the road there is a nice sandbar at low tide that we used to enjoy a walk in the water. Plenty of hiking trails are within a 10 minute drive. The town of Haines is full of fantastic food and drink (The Lighthouse and the Brewery were our favorites). Then we spent almost every night driving another 9 miles out of town to sit and watch the sights at Chilkoot lake as the sun lowered. The house was spacious, very clean and we'll heated, and provides everything you would need for an enjoyable experience. You will not come across better hosts. They live near by and responded quickly and happily during the planning process and our stay. I can not speak highly enough of them. I am already planning our trip back!

Your hosts live on Paradise Cove a few minutes' walk from the Paradise Cove House. We enjoy the outdoor recreational opportunities available here. This is our home base, but we travel widely to both remote rural places and bustling, cosmopolitan cities. We like gaining the perspective travel gives us on our home and our way of living.

The Paradise Cove House was built by the current owner's family, and he grew up there. The family hand-split the thick cedar shakes that protect the outside of the house and give it such special character. The flower and vegetable gardens were carved out of the wilderness soil and are still thriving. Together, the family planted the orchards of cherry, plum and apple trees that produce delicious fruit each year.

This house has a tradition of being a welcoming place, where friends and neighbors could always find a cup of coffee and a piece of pie.

Now we continue that tradition of Alaskan hospitality by welcoming to this warm and happy home the visitors who come to enjoy the marvelous scenery and activities this area has to offer.

The Paradise Cove House harks back to a simpler, and some would say a better, time. The house provides guests more than a homey and comfortable place to stay. It offers the opportunity to experience an Alaskan lifestyle. You can use the WiFi or watch a DVD on one of the house's two television sets. Television programming is not available, but the house is provided with a large collection of movies and more may be checked out in town. The well-stocked bookshelves offer an eclectic variety of reading material. You can enjoy the puzzles and board games available in the house. The spotting scope and binoculars provided invite you to notice the wildlife outside your windows.

You can relax indoors or laze on the lawn or beach. You can pursue any of a wide variety of outdoor activities. Whatever you do it will be real, and you will do it yourself or with the person (people) you've chosen to share this experience.

We have a generous custom cancellation policy. If the house rebooks for your dates, payment will be refunded less $100 booking fee. If the house does not rebook, payment may be applied toward a future stay within one year of original reservation date, less $200 cancellation fee, and subject to availability and current rates.

If the house rebooks for only some of the days you reserved, you will be charged half our minimum rental fee for each unbooked night - $100/night plus the 8% borough tax.
