Welcome to Knasgowa!

Knasgowa, meaning "Heron" in the Cherokee language, symbolizes peace and harmony. We decided to name the cabin as a tribute to these birds that often fish behind the cabin.

This private (Direct Access) lakefront retreat features 3 king bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and 2 dogs. Situated on 8 private waterfront acres with just a few steps to Douglas Lake makes the backyard truly feel endless.

You'll never need to leave the cabin as Knasgowa is jam packed with fun activities and amenities for the whole family.

About Douglas Lake

* Indian Creek Boat Ramp is available for your use to bring your own boat to this property. It's located just 3 miles from this property. You can park your trailer here after launching your boat.

This is a dog-friendly cabin. Please select the number of pets, up to 2, when making your reservation.

Christmas Decorations
This cabin is decorated for Christmas from approximately December 1st through 31st based on availability. These exact dates are not guaranteed if the cabin is occupied as we will decorate the cabin based on availability.

Driveway At The Lake House
The driveway is steep but there is plenty of space to use as a turn around to pull down the driveway driving forward and turn around at the base of the driveway to pull out forward. In the winter time, 4WD might be needed if there is snow or ice on the driveway.

Small Kids
We provide a pack and play and high chair.

Other things to note
Your lock code will be sent to you 24 hours prior to your arrival. You do not need to pick up any keys.

Military, Veteran, Police & Firefighter Discount
We are proud to offer all Current Military, Veterans, Police & Firefighters a 5% discount. In order to receive this discount, you must make your reservation first then send us a message with a copy of your proof of service. The name on the reservation and payment must match the name on the proof of service. We will then refund 5% of the accommodation back to you in the resolution center the day of your check in.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: This is not a requirement but is highly recommended. Travel insurance can protect you if someone in your party becomes sick, from natural disasters, and other unforeseen events, depending on your policy. Please look for Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) policies for the most comprehensive coverage. We follow our cancellation policy so it's important that you purchase travel insurance if you feel you may need to cancel your reservation before arrival or for additional peace of mind.

Starter Pack and Linens: Included are towels, hand towels, washcloths, makeup wipes, sheets, quilts, extra blankets, pillows, and more. You will receive a sponge, dishwasher pods, detergent pods, travel-size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, bar soap, and other extras we like to surprise you with. You will likely need to bring or buy additional trash bags and toilet tissue beyond what is provided in the starter pack.

Guest Access:
Guests will have full access to the entire home, excluding a few owners closets.

Indian Creek Boat Ramp is available for your use to bring your own boat to this property. It's located just 3 miles from this property. You can park your trailer here after launching your boat.

Things to note
Local Fishing License is required by state law to fish in the area. License can be purchased online or purchased at Walmart.
Restricted Check In/Out Days - Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. You may not check in our out on these holiday days.
Must be 21 to book. All guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended for your reservation. We recommend using the company called With Faye for travel insurance as they offer the best cancel for any reason travel protection. Please note that we do not provide any refunds outside of the cancelation policy of your reservation. This includes but is not limited to sickness, death in the family, weather concerns and more. For this reason we highly suggest travel insurance if you think there may be a possibility of your trip being interrupted for any reason.
