Tilava, 7 makuuhuoneen metsätalo (plus yksi vaihdettava queen-vuode ja neljä leirintäaluetta) sijaitsee yksityisellä paikalla 100 metsäisellä alueella, aurinkoisella kannella, josta on näkymät mäntyjen ja tammien metsään. We had a great time. Perfect for an extended family gathering, lots of activities to keep everyone entertained on the property as well as surrounding area. Deck offers a wonderful view and spot for morning coffee.

Lovely trails around property

We loved the hiking trails and the little creek/waterfall just off the property. Very lovely patio area in front of the house with gorgeous view of the hills. Kids loved exploring. We found the home to be large enough, though pots and pans/kitchen accessories like dishwasher need updating and difficult to use. We had difficulty using some rooms (downstairs area can only be accessed via a bedroom) though we were able to make it work. Of note, the road to the property is relatively twisty so those with motion sickness should be forewarned.

What a beautiful property!!

This property was perfect for our family Christmas. Beautiful all around. The home was cozy and roomy at the same time. Well decorated and everything we needed was there. Plenty of rooms for everyone and the game room was a big hit! Would love to stay here again in the summer.

Bachelor weekend

The homestead was a perfect home base for our large group getaway. It was clean, spacious and close to the river and town. Will definitely be back and recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing place with plenty of outdoor activities.

Wonderful retreat!

Roomy, well equipped home with amazing trails and views. Watched the wild turkeys and deer wonder about. The deck overlooking the changing fall trees in the canyon was magical.

Family reunion

This place was amazing! We had a very large group and had everything we needed. There were well maintained walking trails, plenty of chairs and areas to sit and enjoy the outdoors, and a wide variety of games and activities for ALL ages available (indoor and outdoor). Alicia, our host, was super helpful. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!

Amazing place for Retreat

I hosted 8 guests for a yoga & wellness retreat. Alicia set us up with options for massage and horseback riding and was responsive with any questions. The trails are beautifully marked and we wandered through the woods down to the creek and waterfall. The campsites are groomed and marked clearly with a modern and updated bathhouse just for them. The rooms are clean and cozy. So many towels and blankets for extra convenience. The beautiful outdoor deck was perfect for sunset views, sound bath and yoga. We can’t wait to go back for next year.

Family fun with doggos

Plenty of space and beds for all the grown ups in our group! We cooked amazing meals in the roomy kitchen and ate at the big dining table. We hiked around the beautiful trails and found the Moss house. The dog run was spacious and perfect for a 3yr old chocolate lab. We can’t wait to come back.

Really enjoyed our stay

This property was the perfect place for our wedding party to stay. We got married in the area, and this house was nearly big enough to accommodate all of us. My only comment would be to possibly have more trash bags available to the guests, maybe under the kitchen sink? While completing the checkout list, taking all the trash to the big trash cans would have been easier if there were more large trash bags available. Overall, great stay! Thanks!

Great weekend with friends

This is a wonderful place to get away from it all. All the rooms are of great size and multiple gathering rooms. Sitting on front porch you see and abundance of wildlife. Lots of games to play and the observation deck over the canyon is delightful. Hope to visit again. Only disappointment was BBQ was out of propane as was the backup in the garage.

Perfect Family Vacation

We vacation every year with the kids and grandkids. As our family has grown it has become more and more difficult to find a place to accommodate our group. This house met all of our needs! Comfy beds, large kitchens, plenty of bathrooms, lots of outdoor seating. The game room was a huge hit and provided hours of entertainment, especially for the young adults. The view from the deck is spectacular! We appreciate that our dogs, important members of our family, were welcome too. Alicia and Mike were wonderful hosts. This was probably our best trip ever.

Overall great place to stay with large family/gro

This place was awesome for the large group we had. We loved how there was a downstairs with it's own mini kitchen, bathroom, living room and two bedrooms. The Pool table was a plus, too. Problems with this place is that there is an ant problem. Especially in the kitchen and downstairs... no matter how clean you are. Also, the place doesn't have air-conditioning so it can get quite hot.

Great place with lots of room and things to do—will stay again

This was our third time staying at the Forest Homestead. It’s hard to find a nice place with room for 10 adults, 7 kids, and 3 dogs that also has things to do on the property or nearby. The house is large and has plenty of comfortable spaces for eating, playing games, hanging out, and entertaining the kiddos (ages 10m to pre-teens). When the weather is nice, we’ve enjoyed frisbee golf and the outdoor lounging areas. This year we drove about 35 minutes to play in the snow and everyone enjoyed hiking the property or down to the water — there are lots of options depending on energy level and abilities. Communicating with Alicia is extremely easy as are the check in and out procedures. We enjoyed our stay once again and plan to come back.

85th Birthday Celebration

Children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gathered here for the weekend to celebrate our matriarch's 85th birthday. We filled every bedroom plus the fold out couches and made use of both kitchens plus the game room. Hiking the fabulous network of trails was a highlight! This is an amazing property for a group like ours, with space for everyone to stay and dine together. It's not too fancy, (a plus for us) very clean and thoughtfully stocked with all the necessities. The deck overlooking the canyon is a great place to relax in the daytime and stargaze at night. There was something for everyone in our diverse collection of ages and interests; we look forward to returning for another stay soon!

Our family stayed here for the second year in a row over Thanksgiving, and we enjoyed it even more this year. The house has been lovingly renovated to a more open, free-flowing space, and with twelve of us plus two dogs, we felt very spread out and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of space for all of us wanting to cook, and the beautiful new dining table seated us all very easily. Alicia has taken great care to provide her guests with all the comforts, and is always quick to respond to any inquiries or requests. We loved the outdoors deck and took advantage of it each evening at sunset, and with the property's quiet, off-the-beaten-path location, the star-gazing at night was magnificent. We look forward to returning again, as the area offers boundless opportunities to explore and enjoy.

Relaxing and beautiful

Again, a lovely stay in a thoughtfully prepared vacation rental, with a lot of space, in a gorgeous location. We have a pretty large family get together every year and have stayed here before and came back for a second year. It is a very comfortable space for our extended family. The house is thoughtfully curated with enough decoration that it is homey and not so much that having a 3 year old and 5 year old in the living room is a safety concern for them and everyone else. The kitchen is the same, it had everything that we without having to dig through piles of kitchen miscellany to find what you need. The owner is helpful when asked but also very respectful of privacy. We had a wonderful time and hope to be back in the future since it is truly a gem.

Absolutely Beautiful!

What a find this was! The house is lovely, with lots of room for our big family gathering. And the grounds! Oh my! They are gorgeous—woods everywhere and a beautiful view of a canyon below. Perfect place for kids and adults. Our group ranged in age from 1 to 106, and there was plenty of room inside and out for us to gather, barbecue, cook up a storm, and explore the natural beauty. There's even a waterfall to hike to (or so the younger ones told me). My family sat me down Saturday night and said they want to come back next year. This was unanimously voted our favorite of the places we've rented for our family gatherings. We can't wait to come back!
