Anchorage Aweigh is an exquisite two bedroom villa overlooking Coral Bay harbor. The villa boasts a centrally located pool and large pool deck with picturesque views of Coral Bay, St John.



From the living room, the pool and lower bedroom are accessed through an indoor set of stairs.

Coral Bay is located on the quiet, mellow side of St. John. A 2-minute drive down the hill will bring you to a variety of shopping, restaurant and entertainment options. Beaches and the National Park hiking trails can all be found a short distance away.



Adjacent to the main house, yet completely separate, is a cottage. It is a one-bedroom unit where the owners stays, just a few weeks out of the year. The main house and cottage were designed with privacy in mind. As you can see in the photographs, both houses face in different directions.



**When booking- rates are based on how many guests you have. If you have two people, you will have access to the top floor bedroom. Three or four people will give you access to the 2nd bedroom. If your occupancy is "2," the lower level bedroom will be locked during your stay. If the second bedroom is required for two people, additional rates apply.

The perfect villa! An amazing 180 view of beautiful Coral bay for morning breakfast! Stocked high end kitchen with everything you need. The bed slept wonderfully with an AC that cooled everything down perfectly. Easy access to shops and great places to eat like the shrimp at Surf Club and ribeye sandwich and trivia at Johnny Lime. And a top notch host that quickly responded to all of our needs! We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

2nd Stay with Anchorage Aweigh

This is our second time staying at Achorage Aweigh. It would have been our 3rd if a hurricane hadn’t come through in Oct 2023. The home is lovely, the owner is responsive and accommodating, and the location can’t be beat. Windspree now manages the property and they do a great job. Check in/out was easy. The home has all the basic amenities that you need. I do think the home could have been cleaned a little better, but I relayed that to the property manager and they were very responsive. We would stay here again!

A fantastic stay

My friend and I had a fantastic stay at Anchorage Aweigh! The villa was clean and very comfortable. It was the perfect size for us. The view was amazing, and we loved sitting outside listening to the various animals. We went to different beaches early in the morning to avoid the crowds and then enjoyed the pool in the afternoons. The road to the villa and the driveway are very steep, but we quickly got used to it. I highly recommend this villa!

Best vacation ever!

We loved everything about this property! The Coral Bay location is the best! Close to NP and just 20 minutes to the hustle and bustle of Cruz Bay. Morning coffee on Veranda was awesome - peaceful and beautiful. Will definitely items stay here next time!

Wonderful place to stay!

This property was in a fantastic location with easy access to coral bay and beaches. The layout is beautiful and upper and lower porch areas really add to the living space. The pool is perfect and was a bonus feature we don’t usually enjoy at rentals. We will definitely stay here again if and when we get to come back. Thank you!

I loved the VRBO. Nicely appointed. AC was great in the bedrooms and breeze was nice during the day. Loved the pool and the stars were amazing at night. Coral Bay is a wonderful place to stay with Skinny Legs and Aqua Bistro. Grocery store is very convenient. Loved my stay.

New Englanders getaway

We loved our stay in St. John and at Anchors Aweigh. We loved waking up to the view of Coral Bay with the help of the goats, roosters and donkeys! The beaches are amazing! A Jeep is a must, the hills getting to the property are very steep. Not a lot of restaurants at this end of the island but those we visited we really good. Can't wait for our next trip!

Great hosts, great stay

From the time we arrived on St. John our hosts were there to help. The service was excellent. We also had a chance to meet the owner, Scott. He was warm and friendly. Amazing that he and Patricia built the house--it is beautiful; just right for the four of us (2 couples) to relax and enjoy our stay on this great island.

A great fit

This is our second time staying at this home. It is just perfect for us. We love watching Coral Bay from the balcony, we like dipping in the pool after a day of snorkeling and we like the location to our favorite beaches. Also love the outdoor shower and the beds are very comfortable. I hope we are back soon!

St John Stay

Renting this property was easy and the property was as it appeared in the pictures. Outdoor views and pool were highlights! We also loved the 2 MBR set up. Will need a keep, as the drive to get to the house is very steep. We would definitely rent again.

Amazing Experience

Was our second time staying at this property and it was amazing as expected. Convenient to everything in Coral Bay, relaxing, and we'll appointed. The property is starting to show signs of age/use and some reinvestment definitely needs to be made in terms of the living room furniture, closet doors that are broken, paint touch up, etc. Would still highly recommend this property but hope to see some improvements before we visit again in the future.

Perfect home base for the week

Anchorage Aweigh was the perfect home base for our week on St. John. Perfect for two couples as each level provided our own privacy. The wrap around porch offered the most beautiful views of Coral Bay to enjoy morning coffee and dinners. The pool was refreshing after a day in the sun and salt. We loved the “extra guests” around the property consisting of goats, iguanas, and birds. We loved everything about this quiet oasis. Pure paradise!

Heaven in Paradise

The photos don't do this property justice. The view, the pool, the showers, everything was perfect! I loved waking up in the morning and staring at the ceiling...like palms leaves. Watching the boats in the bay and the banana quets were a perfect downtime activity on the deck (along with painkillers). I wish I didn't have to leave, but I know I will be back.

We just got back from an ...

We just got back from an amazing week at Anchorage Aweigh. The villa was perfect and everything we could have wished for for our wedding week in St John. It was impossible to capture the scope of the stunning views on camera and I can't think of anything better than the outdoor shower. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedroom stunning. Lounging in/around the picture perfect pool was excellent and we had to shoo the goats away before they started eating the flowers! We loved being in Coral Bay and we'll definitely be coming back.

Comfortable Villa with a Great Location in Coral Bay

We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful villa. The view is exactly as pictured and the house is well maintained. Our thanks go out to Annette and Pete for taking care of us while we were there. It had outside showers which we love in St John. The villa is located up the hill above Indigo Grill and close to Skinny Legs. We loved the location being close to town (if you want to call it that) but not right in the middle of it. The donkeys, goats and chickens sounding off at various times of the day adds to the charm of Coral Bay. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a less touristy St John experience.

What a treasure! I hate ...

What a treasure! I hate to even write a review because I want to keep this little piece of heaven a secret! Everything about this place is wonderful. Very well furnished. Here's a list of things the owners are kind enough to supply; a small cooler for the beach, ice packs for the cooler, two beach chairs with shoulder straps and pouch for carrying towels etc, coffee grinder, coffee pot, one pool float, wine opener, full kitchen supplies, Wi-Fi, beach towels, and grill. I could go on and on. The property manager and the owners have thought of every detail to make your trip the best ever. Love the salt water pool! The views are so wonderful. The owners and property mgr are very helpful and will respond very quick to any questions. The place has a neat story so read their blog. Enjoy!

Four Worldwide Travelers

From our first communication with the owners, Scott and Patricia, we were well taken care of. First, the villa is a welcoming, well decorated and warm retreat. It sits above Coral Bay with scenic views 24/7 and has the ability to help you "kick back" immediately. The kitchen has all the pans and serving utensils you need to cook in or just snack and have an afternoon swim in the pool after visiting one of the many accessible beaches. Scott spent additional time showing my husband some good fishing spots and they both recommended great eating establishments. Yes, the cost of food is high on St John, but you are on an island retreat. You will not be disappointed and will have exceptional support if this is your first time on the island. We really developed a nice friendship with both Scott and Patricia. They are honest, hard working and aim to please. We were in command of any privacy we desired, but they were fun to hang with, too. We literally have only positive comments and would return in a flash.

Paradise perfection in Coral Bay on St John!

This was our 2nd year in a row visiting St John during the holiday season with our 2 teenage kids. We chose Anchorage Aweigh based on it's location and amenities. Owners Scott and Patricia have taken great care in building their dream vacation villa and live on property in the villa next door. Couldn't ask for a nicer couple to rent from. They have been on island for several years and are very knowledgeable for off the beaten path things to do. The villa is nestled in the Sea Grape hillside and protected from the seasonal trade winds that can be brutal at higher elevations. The landscaping is full of fruit trees, native plants, and is very well maintained. Besides the daily activities of snorkeling, hiking, and exploring the island, we thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at the villa. Sunrise breakfast/coffee on the covered patio each morning listening to the wildlife and watching the boats in the bay was a perfect way to start the day. This villa has everything you need for a home away from home. 2 king bedrooms each with it's own outdoor shower (so relaxing!), fully equipped kitchen, outdoor grill, beach towels/chairs, coolers, tons of books and dvds to relax with after a long day in the sun. We used the pool several times and it was perfect temperature to cool off from the daily activities. Scott and Patricia have made paradise perfection in this well appointed villa that we highly recommend for a St John getaway!

Fantasy Island!

What a gorgeous home, setting, island ... When reading the descriptions and reviews of Anchorage Aweigh as we planned for our 30th wedding aniversary our expectations were high - they were not only met but exceeded! We miss leisurely breakfasts on the balcony overlooking the bay, town of coral bay, and the church. We miss evenings by the pool, watching the stars and an evening swim. The home is spectacular, well maintained and we were comfortable just hanging out there and cooking dinners some nights with the grill and well equiped kitchen. Days were filed with beaches, hiking, snorkeling, sailing and sight-seeing. We thought that Kauaii was laid back, but Coral Bay was a couple of notches lower than that. We loved it but probably not for everyone. Skinny Legs was a great place to catch dinner, but there were several other restaurants in Coral Bay as well. Since the villa is just above the village you will definitely hear the sounds associated with daily life in Coral Bay - buses, motorcycles, music in the evening. Be prepared to adjust shower schedule if you need hot water - it's solar so it's not warm in the morning or cloudy, rainy days (at least when we were there). Didn't need the A/C much after we figured out how to turn on the ceiling fans (there is a remote). Small quirks to adjust to as you kick back in PARADISE! We definitely want to go back. ENJOY!

Fantastic for Romantic, Intimate Honeymoon

My husband and I wanted to find a place that would encompass: intimacy, romance, privacy, private pool, and not too "touristy." The Anchorage Aweigh villa boasted all of our requirements and more! The listing description is very accurate and the villa is much more beautiful in person. Email communication with Marc and the owners was very easy and both provided great places to visit during our stay. Once on the island, we were met by our guide with our jeep. The kitchen was very well equipped with essentials to cook and make drinks with. The kitchen was well-appointed and had everything needed to have delicious meals every day. My husband and I ate our breakfast outdoors every morning and grilled every night. For lunch we went to Skinny Legs or drove to Cruz Bay and ate at Morgan's Mango-awesome! The outdoor shower was amazing and refreshing; our gecko and lizard friends always joined as well! The bedroom was neat and clean with plenty of towels to use. The air conditioned bedroom was a great place to retreat to each evening. Another fantastic feature of this villa is the iPod dock; we turned up the tunes and danced the evening away. No worries if you don't have an iPod, the nearby bar always had great caribbean music playing. During our stay, there was a Labor Day parade that was perfectly visible from the swimming pool! We definitely intend to return, but it will be during the cooler months as cooking in a hot kitchen is not always easy.

Cute place but missing the finishes

We recently stayed here and while it is a very cute place the finishing touches are missing (lack of towel hooks/racks/no toilet paper holders/and so on). I love the 'green' concept incorporated in the building of this cottage; but, we never had a even a 'warm' shower. There are very few towel racks or places to hang items. Seeing that there is no washer and/or dryer our towels never dried. If you leave things out to dry they inevitably get soaked again by the quick moving showers that move through. So, with cold showers and wet towels getting clean at the end of the day was a true chore that we did not look forward to! I do realize we could have made use of the laundromat but that was a 15-20 minute drive and really not what I wanted to spend my time on while on vacation. In addition, they are building a larger home on the property that really hurts the view from the cottage and eventually will eliminate privacy once completed and in use and guests will no longer have the option of enjoying a private pool and will be in very close (earshot) proximity of the renters of the main house. There are some very nice things about the cottage though and don't mean to say we did not enjoy our stay because it would be hard not to - the house is very clean and the deck is very nice as is the pool - but, if you are looking for 'luxury' it misses the mark as it just lacks amenities and details that accompany that definition for me. Overall, it is all in what you are looking for - I'm thrilled to have spent the time in St. John and the Coral Bay location is awesome.
