Lovely, updated home very close to Camp of the Woods (about a 2 minute drive). Plenty of room for our family of 6. Well-stocked with cooking supplies in the updated kitchen. Three of the bedrooms had window A/C, and all spaces had ceiling fans, which we did use and appreciate! The three bathrooms were all updated and clean. We also appreciated and used the washer and dryer, conveniently located on the main floor. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and conveniently located near the center of town for groceries, souvenirs, and restaurants, and ice-cream (that my family raved about). It is also close to other area attractions such as hikes, waterfalls, a small cave (all about 10-15 minute drive), a garnet mine to explore (and mine for some garnet to bring home - about 45 minutes away), a maple-sugaring family business (that will give tours of their operation - about 10 minutes away). Also close to the public beach of Lake Pleasant in Speculator (about 5 minutes). The hosts were very accommodating, communicative, and kind. We are thankful that this family home was available for our stay, and we hope to stay here next year if we're able to return to the area for a visit! (We aren't exactly a "roughing-it" kind of family, and this suited our comfort level perfectly, while still being able to explore and enjoy the outdoor treasures of the area.)
