The apartment is according to the rental description, the kitchen is more than fully equipped, the water is drinkable but takes time to get used to the taste. The apartment is very colourful, well maintained and clean. The garden is very nice and we enjoyed the terrace in the afternoons. The house has a magnificent view but it´s a steep hill to the house. There is a small beach just down the road perfect for just taking a dip but the bigger beach with restaurants and waterplaygrounds is a 10 minute walk away. We found it a bit crowded during our stay and went to the nearby camping. At the camping you had to pay a small fee for adults per day but a lot less people, deeper water and more clean.
The owners were very friendly, helpful and service minded. No problem with languages, English and German works fine.
We rented the boat from the family and got to see Ciovo Island from the seaside which we can recommend, instead of renting a car. If there is no sun or a little bit cloudy, the main road was jammed and this is the only road to get from Ciovo to the mainland.
To get into Trogir there was a 20 minutes’ walk from the house, watch out for cars, mobile caravans and motorcycles, there are no pavements adapted to pedestrians which was a challenge when it got dark.
Trogir is exiting, noisy and vibrant. There are lot of places to eat breakfast, dinner or just to get a drink. The prices are fair and the food is very inspired from Italy with pasta’s and pizzas on every menu. Don’t miss the greengrocery market, fish market and the tourist market, which is situated on the mainland, just where Trogir starts/ends. If you are going to exchange money, check more places than one, due it can differ a lot when it comes to exchanges rates.
We did a trip into Split with the one hour ferry from Trogir to experience a little history. Be prepared to walk a lot and that the prices are higher than Trogir, but worth it.
In all, apartment “Sarah” fulfilled our expectations and Patrica & Slatko made our stay memborable.
