Welcome to Monkey Corner! A bright and airy studio located in the peaceful residential neighbourhood of Atlantic Shores on the south coast of Barbados. With a king-size bed, high ceilings, A/C, fast Starlink WiFi and thoughtful indoor/outdoor living spaces, it’s the ideal retreat for surfers, digital nomads and couples looking for comfort and calm.
The apartment is attached to our home, with our garage acting as the divider. This provides excellent privacy, your own entrance, and dedicated outdoor areas including a hammock patio, BBQ and outdoor dining space. The studio also includes a fully equipped kitchen, separate TV room, and both indoor and outdoor showers - perfect after a day at the beach.
You’ll love the location. South Point surf break is a 2-minute walk and Freights Bay is about 8 minutes away: one of the most beginner-friendly and enjoyable longboard waves in the Caribbean. Turtles are regularly spotted at both beaches, especially at sunrise and sunset. Miami Beach, great for swimming, is nearby, and Oistins with its famous Friday night Fish Fry is only a short drive.
We live next door and are happy to offer recommendations or assistance during your stay, while giving you complete privacy. Monkey Corner is named after the local green monkey family who pass by most mornings and evenings, a gentle reminder you are living close to nature.
A rental car is recommended to make the most of the island, and there is easy parking directly outside the apartment.

Hi, I’m Anna. My husband, Mark and I moved to Barbados in 2024 for a complete lifestyle change: to slow down, enjoy the ocean and make the most of life while we’re still young enough to chase waves and adventures. We surf, wingfoil, kitesurf, swim and love exploring the island’s quieter corners.
Monkey Corner is attached to our home, but you’ll have complete privacy. We’re very relaxed hosts, happy to leave you to your space, but always around if you need recommendations, help or local tips. We love sharing the stoke of this magical island, because Barbados is so much more than its beautiful beaches.

Atlantic Shores is one of the friendliest neighbourhoods on the island, with a lovely mix of locals and expats. It’s peaceful, safe and perfectly positioned if you love the ocean. We have two surf breaks within walking distance, and several great spots for kitesurfing and wingfoiling only a few minutes’ drive away. Oistins, with its shops, restaurants and famous Fish Fry, is also close by. It truly feels like the best of all worlds. We do recommend hiring a car so you can explore the island with ease.

Monkey Corner was fully refurbished in 2024, so the space is modern, comfortable and clean. One of the things that makes it truly special is the green monkey family that lives across the road. Watching them wander by in the mornings and evenings is a real treat.
We’re at the end of a quiet residential road with no passing traffic, so nights are peaceful and calm, yet you’re still just moments from great surf, beaches and Oistins. It’s that rare mix of tranquility and convenience and the reason we chose to buy a home here ourselves.
