Overall good!

We had a good time overall. It was difficult getting boat in and out of property. If boat is 20 ft I would not recommend pulling it to house. There is nowhere to turn around. There are boat ramps close with trailer storage, though.

Perfect spot on the St Johns River.

A great location on the northern end of Lake George. STUNNING sunsets! A short boat ride to 2 fun springs and the Ocklawaha River. The covered boat lift was fantastic! Our boat has an 8' 6" beam and I'd say that's the MAX width for the lift. We didn't try to lift the boat, as we didn't want to damage anything, so we just tied off under the covering and enjoyed. REALLY nice to just untie and head out for a day of fun.

River Bliss

Overall, the property is amazing. Beautiful landscape, great little house and breathtaking scenery. This is a sportsman’s / river lovers paradise. I give the overall accommodations a blue ribbon. However, I did have what I personally consider a poor experience with the activation of the properties lawn irrigation system on two separate occasions while staying there, not only did this interfere with our outdoor enjoyment of this property but the water source, which I expect is the river water, completely trashed a 200.00 detail job on my truck I had done two days before this trip. The water dried leaving a heavy white chalky residue all over, especially on the window glass. I really believe someone should have mentioned this would be happening while I was there. Better yet, don’t water while guests are there. Have spend another 200.00 to have this mess cleaned off my truck. Other than that disappointment the accommodations are wonderful.

Perfect for us

This was our first visit to this little gem and looking forward to a return stay. My husband enjoyed reeling in the fish. I loved the scenery and quiet time to read. A lovely place to unwind. The manager was helpful and also Don and Brenda were great.

Sunset River Cottage

Wonderful hidden gem on the St Johns River. The cutest little cottage right on the water. We loved fishing right off the dock and back porch. Saw tons of birds, manatees, a gator and fish. Highly recommend checking this place out. Host Jim was wonderful to talk too. Definitely plan on going back.

On the river

Perfect for bringing our boat to do some fishing and exploring. A great space for the two of us with a beautiful location right on the river, while the boat was secure on the canal side. A fun but peaceful retreat a short boat ride from Renegades.

Super relaxing

My husband & I enjoyed the month of March on Sunset. Nice neighborhood, beautiful quiet location. Everything but the bathroom is in one room but it's not crowded and there's a screened in porch the overlooks the canal. Lot's of cable stations & books for rainy days. The onsite managers were extremely helpful & responsive.

Great place to bring your boat!

Beautiful location on the St. John's River. Loved being able to keep the boat where we stayed. The cottage is very nice, clean and comes with anything you could need. We look forward to returning.

Only thing I would recommend is to change the sprinkler system time. It’s in at 7 am, the time we were out walking. The location was absolutely beautiful

Peaceful & Scenic

The cottage vibe, decor & location was superb! We traveled with our 17ft Carolina skiff. Left the trailer at Bass World & kept the skiff at the boathouse during our stay. Enjoyed a 25-35 min boat ride to beautiful Salt Springs & sightseeing neighboring areas. Our 2 rambunctious toddlers enjoyed fishing off the pier & playing on the lawn. The property is a corner lot directly on the water with a big lawn area that I felt safe having 2 toddlers play & run around (while wearing life vests & within my eyesight). Enclosed patio section was great for winding down time or eating while enjoying the beautiful view. The cottage was fully equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Surprisingly, we didn’t need bug repellent. No mosquito or flies on premises! Neighbors including G & V were genuinely welcoming and not intrusive. The town folks were relatively the same - true southern hospitality! GRACIAS Jim for sharing your space with us. We look forward to returning in the near future!
