Affordable Ground Floor Unit In The Heart Of HMB Downtown: Former Mayor's House
Please read the whole ad. Stay in the ground floor of a fun house with lots of History built by a former Mayor in Half Moon Bay as his personal residence in the 70s Lots of good stories. Adjacent to Main Street at the end of a low impact street, this unit is steps to coffee shops, great restaurants, and more. Seriously, steps not blocks... This ground floor unit has a living room, two sleeping rooms, a great room, a kitchenette, and 1.5 baths.
This unit is affordable, comfortable. It has been well lived in and is no frills, we cannot stress that enough. We have been in the vacation rental business since 2002 and have found we make more people happy by offering the lowest prices and providing very basic lodging. The local Ritz has terrible reviews and is usually more than $900/night.
The ground floor is all yours. You share nothing with the upstairs. As of this writing the upstairs is vacant and will be until at least October. The ground floor has a dining room, a great room with sofa and games, a galley kitchen, one and one half bathroom, and two sleeping rooms. You have off street parking for two cars.
We frequently offer discounts and specials. The default price is $100 per night Sun-Thurs and $200/night Fri and Sat with two nights minimum required for a Friday or Sat booking unless we have orphan ones (Thurs and Sat are booked but Fri is not). We are trying to figure out how to charge by the bed instead of the person. Each bed is good for two people at the price. We intend for each bed to be $50 and utilities at $5/person/night.
The kitchen is stocked with basic things. It has a small apartment stove and countertop oven with coffee makers
A standard booking is for two people and the California King will have linens.
Cleaning is $50. You must be tidy and do your dishes and leave them to dry if you do not want to be charged extra.
Please note, I specialize in No Frills affordable units. You have not found is a luxury home filled with Pottery Barn and Z Gallery. I can get you and your family into good accommodations usually much lower than any other unit including some room rentals.
What you have found is a place that is really downtown Half Moon Bay, can sleep a few people, and is as cheap as I can provide it. When I say really downtown- I MEAN IT. This is located at the end of a street that runs parallel to Main Street. You are across the street from the parking lot to the back size of a cute little retail center which has a restaurant, a gelato place, and some stores. You are maybe a one minute walk to a wine bar, a high end Italian Restaurant and so much more. You dont need to walk blocks to get to any of the action like you do at some places that advertise as "near" the tourist amenities. You wont need to take a taxi or ride share back if you get drunk or eat to much or anything like that. This unit is a comfortable no frills offering in a very seasoned building. You are going to see signs of age and us. I am posting pictures as I furnish it. Check my reviews. I do pretty well at these type of offerings. You know you. If you are a perpetual complainer or are instantly looking for discounts and refunds for every little thing then please book someplace where someone is offering you the world and a price that is commensurate with those expectations. If you are trying to visit Half Moon Bay on a budget then I think we have you covered.
