Great stay!

Stay here during the Catalina Wine Mixer. The place is in a great location. Didn’t even need to use a golf cart. Place was a little warm but overall great place!

Spacious and comfortable

I stayed here in the spring with my parents and two daughters. It's on the outskirts of town but the town is so small that my mom had no trouble walking here from the ferry terminal (she's in her late seventies with only average mobility for her age). Super close to the one grocery store and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals.

Lovely clean property, but it gets farther from the beach each time for us oldsters, lol. Love the pool and hot tub. Ceiling fans upstairs missing batteries that apparently could not be had nearby, so upstairs smaller bedroom warm, even with door open and small floor fan.Having to list exact names of what 6 people would be in house seemed a bit odd.

Wonderful stay!

We loved the hot tub and pool. The grocery store was just a short walk away and room 5 was very close to pool. The steep stairs up to bedrooms were a bit hard for elderly couple but doable.

Mermaids rule

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was very comfortable for five of us. The pool, jacuzzi, jacuzzi tub were all nice features. There was enough pots, pans, plates, etc for the stay. The location also worked out. Would be very happy to stay there again in the future.

Relaxing stay on Catalina

My family stayed for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend. It was very comfortable for my wife and I and our 3 kids. The location is a short walk from the harbor, but it’s further back where it’s quieter. Great location and we’d stay again.

4th of July Fun!

The condo was very cute and all the beds were very comfortable. We were provided with everything we needed for the weekend. Chela, the property manager was very responsive when we needed new lightbulbs and a toilet chain broke. We enjoyed our stay here very much.

Wonderful stay

We had a total blast. The weather was perfect and the distance to town was easily walkable. My only feedback would be that their were still a former renters clothes in the drawers of one room upon arrival - one park of kids underwear and another drawer w some womens clothes. Also one of the phone numbers on the instructions was wrong and so I had to call chela instead of the property manager Ipon checkout to make sure it was clear we left on time. But that’s truly minor compared to the great (super easy) communication and instructions we had w the owners prior to arrival. Still a five star experience.

The unit was spacious. We had problems with the toilets and we heard a screeching sound from one of the bathrooms that continued through the night. This noise was so loud we weren't able to sleep. The property manager was gracious and came to our unit around 9 PM and fixed one of the toilets. We also had to purchase bath gel for the shower and soap for hand washing.

Not an accurate description

We booked this place specifically because of the pool and hot tub. Imagine our disappointment when we get there and the pool and hot tub are in the midst of being repaired. The description says the pool and hot tub will be closed for repairs in 2023. Our trip was in February of 2024 and still not done. The address given is incorrect. Brought us to the wrong place. It was very confusing. I would put the correct address here but I'm sure it's not allowed. I will contact the host and explain the issue with the address and, hopefully, she will make the correction. Other than that, the unit was immaculate. Close to everything. Well appointed kitchen. T.V. in both bedrooms which I appreciate.

Short Stay

We appreciate the renters sharing their property with us but unfortunately it was not as clean as it should have been. Upon arrival the cleaning lady had just arrived and said she would be finished in "45 min". It was not left very clean. Crumbs in the bedroom next to the beds, trash left by other renters, windows were dirty, the upstairs and downstairs balcony were filthy (not inviting to sit in) with dust, spider webs, dirty floors, and dirty chairs. No hand soap in the bathrooms, watered-down soap bottle in kitchen. Cleanliness is key when we are traveling with our 7 year old and elderly parents. This made us feel unsafe! With the current pandemic situation the owners and management company should make this a number one priority. We are disappointed to have received this kind of welcoming Especially when the rental rates are so high.

The home was very clean and very roomy. The kitchen had everything we needed. The Wifi was easy to access. The home was a short walk to Crescent Avenue and Pebbly Beach Road. Everything - restaurants and stores - were an easy and convenient walk to this home.

The property was not clean when we arrived. We were put in contact with the lady supervising the property, and she brought in the cleaning people. We were out while they cleaned, but we weren't impressed by their efforts. They didn't empty the trash either.

Condo was in a great location! It was well taken care of. Good decor and spacious. We had a couple issues. The pictures show ceiling fans in most if the rooms, but the one in the smaller bedroom doesn’t work. Made it a bit stuffy. Quite of few outlets only had one working (top or bottom) Not huge a deal but definitely inconvenient. The pool was not heated and sometimes was not open by 9am like the signs states.

Quiet and clean!

We loved the location. Easy access to trails leading back to the conservatory but also within walking distance to everything you could want to do. We enjoyed being a bit further away from the main street because it meant nice quiet nights. The property manager was quick to respond by text and very helpful! Thank you!

Nice 2 night stay

The place was clean and spacious . The location was decent being about a 7-8 min walk to the downtown area . Kids loved the swimming pool. Tried to go to the pool the last day, but the door to the pool was locked despite it being past the time it was supposed to be open. All together a nice stay!

Mel Dinkel and Leslie Baer Dinkel met on non-other than Santa Catalina Island. A few years later, we were married at Descanso Beach (highly recommended!) in Avalon. Catalina holds so many memories for us, and since we are not on the Island all the time, we wanted to create an 'affordable luxury' accommodation where people could make their own memories! Since lots of families come to Catalina, it had to be fun -- thus, 'La Casa Sirena' (The Mermaid House) which includes both Catalina and Mermaid themes, bright-colored and interesting tiles and aesthetic, along with a closet just for beach accessories! It also had to be romantic for couples, and so, the lush natural woods, leathers and stone, Cal King bed, fun master shower for two and extra-wide jacuzzi! In short, we wanted it to be comfortable enough to be our home away from home, and yours too!
