Cartecay River Hideaway

Wade aivan joen mökistämme kesällä! Mene lehden näköiseksi, hanki omenapuha, vaellu Georgian vuorille tänä syksynä! Nauti kauden lohdutuksesta, jota rentouttaa aallotteleva vesi aivan ulkopuolella, tai astu seikkailulle lähistöllä sijaitsevilla vaellus-, pyöräily- ja jokireiteillä.

Kaunis 3 makuuhuoneen, 3 kylpyhuoneen hirsimökki kolmella kannella aivan kuohuviini Cartecay-joella. Aseta viiva kannelta veden reunasta tai aseta loitsu maalaismaiseen keinutuoliin ja kuule joen säröily seulomalla kuistilla tai makuuhuoneen parvekkeella.

Kaikki mänty hirsitalo on sisustettu tyylikkäästi, yläkerrassa king-sviitti, peilattu poreallas ja oma parveke joelle. Kaksi pääkerroksen täydellistä makuuhuonetta, joista toisessa on jokirannalla varustettu kuisti, tarjoavat Pohjois-Georgian sisustuksen erinomaisella mukavuudella.

Täysin varusteltu keittiö aukeaa valoisalle, monen ikkunan huoneelle ja toimistotilaan holvikatolla ja massiivisella kivitakalla, joka on varustettu kaasulokilla (ei saatavilla kesällä). Kaapeli-tv, nopea internetyhteys, langaton yhteys, dvd-soitin tuovat modernit mukavuudet Cartecayn hirsimökkiimme.

Alakerran baarihuone (tuo omat juomat) oluen jääkaapilla, foosball-pöydällä ja pelipöytä avautuu joen viereen patioon.

Propaani- ja kaasugrillit joen takana olevalla terassilla.

Mökki ja paikalliset palvelut: taimenta kalaa joen rannalta tai joen kannelta. Valmista suosikki loma- ja loma-ateriat täysin varustetussa keittiössä. Aja 15 minuuttia Ellijayn keskustaan vanhentamalla, ruokailla ja nauttiaksesi pikkukaupungin charmista.

Minuutin päässä Ellijayn Apple Alley, Georgian Apple Restival (lokakuun toinen ja kolmas viikonloppu) ja paikallisista maatilamarkkinoista, Cartecay Vineyards, Amicalola Falls, Appalachian Trail, Benton MacKaye Trail ja viehättävistä pikkukaupungeista Ellijay ja Blue Ridge sekä muutamia alueen parhaat vaellus, maastopyöräily ja metsästys.

Upeat retkeilyreitit (Appalachian Trail, Benton MacKaye, Amicalola Falls State Park, Cohutta Wilderness ja muut) odottavat saappaasi. Siirrä rasvat renkaat mutaisilla kaakkoon parhaimmilla maastopyöräreiteillä. Kalastajat nauttivat taimenen kalastuksesta Cartecayn, Noontootlan, Toccoan, Ellijayn ja Coosawattee-joilla. Läheiset WMA: t (Rich Mountain, Dawson Forest ja Cohutta) tarjoavat runsaasti hirvieläinten, kalkkunan ja luonnonvaraisten sikojen metsästämistä.

Nauti omenankorjuuajasta Georgian omenafestivaaleilla (2. ja 3. viikonloppu lokakuussa) ja perheen aktiviteeteista, eläintarhoista, retkistä, maissi sokkeloista ja u-pick-hedelmätarhoista paikallisissa omenatalossa. Lehtien etsijät nauttivat värikkäistä lehtineen takakuistiltamme ja maantieltä, retkeilyreiteiltä ja lähellä olevista valtion puistoista (Amicalola Falls ja Fort Mountain).

The cabin was clean and very comfort. The check-in process was very smooth and Jane the host was very responsive. The location on the river is beautiful and very peaceful. We spend a week in the cabin to just relax and decompress from our busy lives. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Relaxation is key

This spot was PERFECT for a getaway. Especially if you’re looking for something less busy, and more private. We loved it and look forward to booking in the summertime as it is right on the water.

Weekend on the Cartecay River

Our family wanted to stay somewhere close to Ellijay and on the river. The house is located within 15 minutes of downtown. We enjoyed our stay. The house was well appointed and really clean. The only thing that would have been nice to know before hand is the main bedroom is a loft open to the living room. All in all a good stay by all.

River Hide Away

We chose this property for the river view and location. Both of these were great! The cabin was very nice and had two decks to look at the river. Again, great features.We had a storm the night we arrived and were without electricity for approximately 4 hours. Our host was very nice and responsive. They did suggest we stay the night without lights or air conditioning. I was going to go, but my girlfriend talked me in to staying. I was really happy when the electricity was restored,I am not sure if it was the storm, but something happened to the router and we did not have Internet for the entire time that we were there. Since this cabin was in the mountains, we also did not have phone service. There was a phone in the cabin, but it did not work because the router was not working. It was difficult not being able to communicate to the outside world or have a way to be contacted if there was an emergency.

I was very pleased with our stay as the pictures online were exactly how the cabin was! We did have to wait a hour after arriving to get in due to the cleaning crew still there. For sure will be going back!!

I was very happy with the cabin. The location was beautiful and having the river outside our door was amazing . Only thing I was sad about was not being able to use the full deck over the river. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Awesome place.

Coldest weather ever

The cabin was exactly as expected. Was a great getaway. We did have a water problem but called the owner and she was going to come from another city to check on problem but brother in law went to the pump house and got water working again. The weather never got above freezing the whole 4 days we were there. The owner refunded a small portion of our stay for the water trouble we had and it had snowed the night before checkout making getting out difficult so she extended our check out time to let the roads thaw out some. We will be back!

secluded and peaceful

The place was a paradise . Its like being on a tree house overlooking the water . Everything was magical . At first we got lost and accidentally went to the next door cabin . The drive there is interesting , must drive slow as we saw few deers on the way of the road and some parts had hills . The house is clean but there were one Un invited roach that came through the fire place. We had everything we needed . A suggestion would be fix the dock so people can enjoy the best part of the house . We didn't use the tub as we prefer showers , the cabin was breath taking . Close to town but I don't recommend getting there on a Tuesday because most restaurants were closed . Tubing , rafting was available cnear by to the location . We also went to Ruby falls which is a cave that had a waterfall inside about an hour away. Blue Ridge town is another option for dinning that has more options of restaurants . The house had a grill and also fire pit . The area for the fire pit needed a little clean up . Over-all we loved the get away . It was very peaceful . We highly recommend it .

Anniversary trip

It was a get away trip to get away during these crazy times. The cabin design was great, location was nice, the river being right there was beautiful & it was 15 mins away from shopping & eating. The river does not have easy access from the yard as described but if you're careful you can get in. The downstairs "game room" had a strong smell of mildew & Foosball table is not in a condition to be used. The master bedroom is very spacious & the deck of that room is nice but the bed itself is extremely uncomfortable The screen porch over looking the river was nice & peaceful. The home itself could use some up keep; spiders & roaches were an issue. You can see the web nest outside of the building up on the windows. I live in the woods in Florida, I am aware of bugs & other creepy crawly things in the natural environment but we do not have them in our house. The inside was not as clean as you would expect, and there was a lot of clutter including several junk drawers. The furniture is in poor condition and very uncomfortable which made relaxing in the cabin impossible for any extended period of time & was told by the owner.

Not as advertised...

The cabin was in disrepair and dusty. There's a mold issue that caused the cabin and towels to smell, and made the game room unusable. There was a ring around the Jacuzzi tub when we arrived but since I never take baths anyway I just used the shower downstairs. I let the homeowner know when we left so she could make sure it was taken care of for the next guest. She accused me of lying...said I had used the Jacuzzi and left the ring. I can't imagine why I would lie since I rented the cabin and had every right to take a bath if I wanted to...why would I lie about taking a bath?! There was a huge cobweb on the kitchen light fixture that Tarzan could swing from, I guess I put that there, too? Thankfully I took a lot of pictures when we arrived to show the condition of the cabin, the nasty notes left for guests around the cabin had me feeling I'd need them. There were so many things wrong but I wasn't going to write a bad review until the owner accused me of leaving streaks on the bathroom fixture and a ring in the tub, which I did not do... the real problem is the owners attitude towards guests, she seems to resent them and will use any excuse to take their deposit. The towels, beds, furniture...decor overall... is old, smelly, and broken. It needs to be repaired, updated, and cleaned by a professional after each guest. Sadly, as can be seen in previous reviews I wish I'd read, the owner blames her guests for these problems rather than taking responsibility for poor cleaning practices and lack of upkeep.

The property and house has lots of potential, but it needs a lot of time and attention. We had to launder the bed linens before we could sleep on them. They all smelled musty. Every dish we pulled out of the cabinet was dirty. The grounds are very overgrown. It was sad because the view was so pretty, but you could hardly enjoy it because nothing was maintained. The couches had tears that were covered up with blankets. And there were nasty little notes everywhere that really made it feel as though we were imposing. I understand having rules, but everything felt as though we were not even supposed to be there. We were only allowed to do one load of laundry in seven days…. It seemed like it would have been better to just remove the washer and dryer. I actually removed some of the notes and put them back before we left because every time I saw them I got frustrated. The tone of each of them was fairly nasty. We could not get the dishwasher to work so we hand washed all dishes We were really disappointedThis is the first negative review I’ve ever left.

Cobwebby. Musty smelling. FYI (not a complaint) Top log on front step needs replacing. A cloth folding chair pink has dry rotted, someone will fall through.Nonetheless, enjoyed the sire, fished the river, lots of deer, kitchen nicely set up.

The property is beautiful, the grounds need to be cleaned up some, it is grown up with bushes and stuff. Up close was mowed , but in all we had a great time. Would come back and recommend it to others. Hot water did run out before jacuzzi was full enough to turn on. So didnt get to enjoy it.

Vacation 2025

We greatly enjoyed our stay! The house was open and spacious and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The property was nice and the proximity to the river was just as is listed. The driveway was a little intimating in one spot but after a few runs to town we were old pros. The sound of the river was a great relaxer and we enjoyed using the floats to take in some sunshine and nature. My husband and son in law were a little bumbed about the fishing but a short drive to Blue Ridge provided us with fresh trout. The house has a LOT of stairs, and my husband and I have knee issues, but we would book again and hope to soon!

Crisp Fall Riverside Weekend

The cabin was as listed and met our needs and expectations. The proximity to apple orchards and vineyards was a plus. The location on the river was a winner and a delight to see the sun rise over the river well as the beaver moon at night. The sound of the rumbling water was an added delight.

That's me on my favorite rock just upstream from our river deck. I love to spend hours there in summer, reading, sunning or sipping a refreshing beverage. This is our favorite cabin, where the children frolicked and fished in the river and where we set out for fun and adventure in the mountains. The walls are adorned with trophies from their dad's hunts and river outings. Our memories are warm and anticipations high when our thoughts turn to Cartecay Hideaway.

The pine cabin has the warmth of wood from floor to ceiling and a sunny view of the Cartecay River from the den and screened in porch. A deck right on the river provides an al fresco dining table or a place to cast your line. The large mirrored Jacuzzi tub off the master bedroom offers a unique bathing experience. Hear and see the river run from the balcony off the master bedroom or the screened in porch beside a secondary bedroom downstairs. Head downstairs to a basement bar room reminiscent of a retro hunting lodge or bikers' retreat. Settle in the den on comfy sofas near the massive rock fireplace, sunny office nook, and fully equipped kitchen.
