Great place to celebrate family!

This was a great place to celebrate family! The kitchen lacked for nothing! We were grateful for this time with family in this space. We only wish it hadn’t been so bitter cold as we all wanted to play outside!

Great House w/ indoor pool

The house was just as shown online. It was clean, big and great for our group of 14! The indoor pool, outdoor space, hot tub, game room and fire pit allowed us to have a lot of fun! I would definitely recommend this house to others!

A Peaceful Refuge

The Winchester Guest House was a great choice for a large family reunion. The grounds are beautiful. The guest house is very nice. The indoor pool is outstanding. The host is one of the best I've encountered.

Christmas in Winchester

This home was what it advertised. Lots of room for our larrge extended family. Plenty of games and room to play them. The pool was wonderful. The host communicated clearly expectations and other information we needed.. would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

A Thoughtfully Appointed Delight

This home is a remarkable 7-bedroom 7400 sq. ft. masterpiece. The indoor pool is excellent. Attention to detail in each room is marvelous. Very comfortable. Beautiful setting. A wonderful facility for a family gathering. Owners have thought of everything!

Perfect for large groups

Had a great Christmas together with family. Plenty of space for all of us. Can openers in kitchen didn't work the greatest and the grill was extremely dirty, but we were able to work with what we had. Appreciated the extra heaters in rooms when dealing with the negative temps outside. Overall a great place, especially with a large group.

Family get-together, had a great time!

We had 6 families gathered together, plenty of room for everyone. Kids loved the pool and playing in the basement. Was helpful to have two washers/dryers. Owner was easy to get a hold of with any questions. It was helpful we knew ahead of time there were only two burners so we brought a couple of ninja pots with us.

Huge home

Owners is a 5 star plus....very responsive. The house is huge you would never believe how much room it has. We never felt like we were on top of each other. We had 27 people, and had plenty of room. The home is very dated, with many updates this home would receive a 5 star over all. Over all our family had an excellent vacation.

Wonderful Home for a Family Reunion!

Over Labor Day weekend we had a family reunion with family from Michigan and Ohio. Winchester, Indiana was an ideal meeting place in the middle. Fun was had by all from the little ones to the adults. The indoor pool was a big hit! Our family also enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and outdoor games. One treat was that the dining room table was large enough for us all to eat together! Ted was awesome answering our questions and problem solving when needed. We hope to return again!

Family reunion/birthday celebration

Our family enjoyed our time at the Winchester Guest House. The bedrooms and living space were able to accommodate all which was one of our goals, to just spend time together. The yard space was perfect for our "Family Olympics" and we spent lots if time on the patio. The kitchen was a little tight as we cooked all meals at home for a large group. A couple of suggestions: the towels throughout the house are worn, thin and dingy and the bedding was also rather worn, starting to pill. All in all we enjoyed our stay and made some great memories.

Great place for a weekend getaway!!!

The property was perfect for our birthday weekend of 16 adults. There was plenty of room for us, and the host, Ted, was spectacular with communicating. We loved the property as there was enough space for frisbee, croquet, even capture the flag if that’s more your speed. As the house itself you could play a killer game of hide and seek. The only negatives we could possibly give and it’s pressing to do such, the pool lights were not working but are scheduled to be fixed this fall as the pool has to be drained to do such, and the temp was a bit low for some, but those of us that run hot, the temp was perfect! There were some very minute issues with the house itself but we voiced them to Ted and they have most likely already been resolved. Overall 5 stars, would definitely book again

Great stay, great hosts

Ted’s house was perfect for our family gathering. The children loved the “children’s cave” downstairs and during the day, basically went from the pool to the hot tub all day. The field was large and we played soccer and other games and the children could just run around. The hosts were so nice and helpful. They would check on us regularly. The only downsides was that there were only two burners in the kitchen which was hard for a large group, but we were able to use the grill outside so we worked around it. Also, the floor around the pool is slippery. Even walking, there were a few slips so we just had to be extra careful there. But again all in all, we could not asked for a more perfect house for this occasion. Perfect for children of all ages and the parents can enjoy themselves too. Thank you guys for an amazing stay!

Perfect for family reunions

Was a little apprehensive when making the reservation that having 18 adults and 13 kids staying in a single house would cramp us for room for our family reunion, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The bedrooms worked out great for the families, although there were a couple noisy beds in some of the rooms. The kitchen was small but was adequately stocked with pans and utensils. Having two refrigerators available made it easy to store supplies for our large group. We had no problems preparing and eating all meals at the house for the week. The large dining room table and huge outdoor picnic table made it easy to seat everybody. When adults wanted to chat and hangout, we used the living room with the bay window or the dining room next to it or some of the outdoor seating. The firepit in the backyard was a bonus that we used several times. The indoor swimming pool kept the kids busy, day or night, when they weren’t playing games at the volleyball or badminton nets or in the field. There was plenty of room to get a game of soccer, football, or ultimate frisbee in the large grassy area next to the nets. When the kids tired of swimming or playing games outside, the games in the basement got used regularly. The hot tub was a good way to end the day. Never left the house during our stay except to get supplies at the Wal-Mart about a mile away. The host was great to work with and promptly addressed any concerns.

Host welcomed us and when we had issues, he was very receptive. The kitchen is well stocked and 2 refrigerators are nice. Plenty of sleeping areas and the pool was amazing.

Very nice, large, and clean. Plenty of space for everyone! Only downfall house is very musty especially the basement and chlorine smell from the pool. Cost was a bit high for 10 adults and 2 children for 2 nights was almost 5000 but in then end it was worth it. Hosts are very lovely and great communication. They where on sight in there RV. However after check in someone had come into the house when we had left for dinner and opened windows and left a back door open. The was slightly uncomfortable.

House and backyard is huge! We absolutely enjoyed being outdoors with the kids, the indoor pool came in clutch while the weather was in the cooler side during our stay. Ted was readily available and provided clear communication.

Our ladies retreat enjoyed our time at the home. The pool was very clean. However the hot tub smelled strongly of chlorine and was a bit of a concern for us. This home is perfect for a large group but the location itself was not as ideal. There is not a lot of options for things to do in the area. Overall we would rate the home at a 4.5 but the location at a 2.0.

Very roomy and family friendly home

Our immediate family of 12 adults and 9 kids stayed at this home. It had enough bedrooms and bathrooms to make our experience very relaxing. The pool was a big hit for everyone. It rained at times but having the pool inside didn’t hinder our fun. Lots of outside space for baseball and kickball and volleyball nets. It was a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend this place.

Even better the 2nd time

This was our 2nd Extended Family Weekend at the Winchester Property. Plenty of activities for everyone plus some positive property improvements. Would stay again and recommend. Host is very responsive and communicates well.

50th Anniversary Gathering

We wanted a location to gather our whole family of 40 to celebrate our 50th anniversary and this fit the bill exactly. Far enough away from home to feel removed but close enough for reasonable travel. The owner was VERY responsive to an issue that popped up and took care of it immediately.

Ted is a former management consultant and Director with Ernst & Young focusing on information technology related projects. Ted also worked for Price Waterhouse during his management consulting career.

Ted is a graduate of Ball State University with a B.S. is Telecommunications and a Business Administration Minor. In addition to directing activities at the Inn, Ted and daughter Kiera - an Indiana University graduate founded Uncharted Pixels LLC - a web services, branding, and video production services company.. Ted is also a private pilot.

Debbie manages the housekeeping functions making sure the cleaning team work is done properly amd the home is up to her exacting standards of cleanliness and comfort. She was awarded the Hoosier Hospitality award by Indiana's Lieutenant Governor!

Debbie attended Indiana University East in Richmond and has worked in the healthcare, childcare, and social services fields during her career.

After living near Chicago, St. Louis, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Cincinnati, We purchased this property to get back to our Hoosier roots near the Whitewater River valley. Both Ted and Debbie were born in Richmond just 25 minutes south of the property. Winchester is a great little town brimming with family values, lots of churches, nearby shopping, and close to our family.

With six park-like acres, 3 fireplaces, and an indoor pool and outdoor hot tub, a conference room that seats 20, separate formal dining room that seats 6-8, a nice patio with seating for large groups, outdoor fire pit, and nearly 6 park-like acres, this property has everything you are looking for in a family reunion or retreat destination!. This home has something for everyone!. The older folks can sit by the living room fire or on the patio and have great conversation while the kids enjoy the pool or the theater/game room. The teenagers can play volleyball and badminton on the east lawn while the guys head over to the award winning 27 hole golf course and the ladies go antique shopping. We have a game closet filled with board games and playing cards. Free WIFI is available throughout the property and most rooms have 4K TVs with HDMI connections. The winery tours are a great option with live entertainment on some summer evenings. Fishing is available in the nearby towns of Farmland, Richmond, and Muncie. The historic Winchester Speedway "the worlds fastest half mile" is 10 minutes away offering pulse pounding high banked auto racing and Eldora Speedway (about 45 minutes) offers awesome dirt track racing in the summer. Take a day and enjoy the Antique Alley trails for great shopping and don't forget to stop by Silvertowne for a unique gift shopping experience in Winchester. But you may never want to leave the property. This is truly a great family home with all we have to offer on the premises! Perfect for reunions and large family gatherings.
