Castillo de Amber on johdettu nimenimielisensÀ luonnollisesta kauneudesta, kÀÀntÀen englanniksi "Amberin linnaan". TÀmÀ ainutlaatuinen, 4-tason, 6 makuuhuoneen vuokrahuvila sijaitsee Manuel Antonion keskustassa, Pacific Canyon Drivea pitkin - joka tunnetaan upeista vuokrahuviloista, helpon pÀÀsyn ravintoloihin ja baareihin sekÀ postikorttinÀkymistÀ merelle ja kansallisille pysÀköidÀ. Jokaisessa kerroksessa on oma keittiö, oleskelutila ja merinÀköala parveke. Allas on valtava, ja siinÀ on oma keittiö, grilli ja baarialue (tÀysin stereot!). YmpÀröivÀ sademetsÀ on elossa villielÀinten kanssa, ja on yleistÀ nÀhdÀ kaikki kolme apinaa, laiskia, iguaania, tukaania ja muita elÀimiÀ.

Amazing location, incredible hosts

Myself and 8 others stayed here for my 49th birthday week, and it was exactly everything that the listing said it was! Everything about the property was stunning, conveniently located, and Vanessa was such a kind and gracious host. She recommended many great restaurants and excursions for our group to visit and do. At first, we were concerned that it might be not big enough for our group, but there is more than enough space for additional adults to join. Everyone was incredibly comfortable, had their own areas just sprawl out, and it was magical week for everyone who joined. I would absolutely recommend this property and would gladly stay again in the future. Kent and Vanessa were wonderful and really helped to make this vacation memorable.

Fantabulous!!!!!

We rented the entire place, and we don’t regret it. We had 10 people, fit perfectly
. The wild life was outstanding! Monkeys, toucans, macaws and a sloth all up front on the property. Carli and Jazz were very attentive for all our needs
 Carli was so helpful with planning our excursions which were also outstanding.. even assisted in getting a birthday cake delivered which was delicious
. I will be returning ❀

Incredible spot!

We had such an incredible time at this place. The 3 different floors that act like separate apartments were perfect for our family. There is a 4th smaller apartment that was also great for grandma! The location is ideal, 3 minutes from the beach, and 2 minutes from about a dozen or so restaurants and stores. We had monkeys and lizards almost every day by the pool and even had a sloth on our property. The views of the trees and the ocean were just amazing. The pool was our favorite hangout but also a bit nerve wracking as the edge of the pool has no fence or barrier and it is about a 20 foot drop. So if you have young kids like we did you'll have to watch them carefully. Otherwise for the money the spot is just amazing!

Fabulous Location and Views

The location and views from this property couldn't be better. Restaurants, bars, and stores are a short walk away. The property manager was excellent; the home was clean. We enjoyed the resident iguana and the visiting monkeys. The layout of the home was perfect for my husband and me and our 2 adult children with their significant others. Each couple had a separate floor/apartment. The property does feel a little tired, however. The pool is missing tiles, for example. The appliances are old. The beds and linens are okay, but not great. I assume the property has been used as a rental for some time, but it is at the point that it needs to be refreshed. For the price, you get a lot of space, however, and the property certainly worked for our purposes. We would recommend to others primarily because of the location.

Wildlife-filled adventure!

My family and I really enjoyed this property. The house was beautiful, with so many areas for gathering/entertaining. Vanessa, our concierge, was an absolute treasure. She helped us with everything: transportation, tours, covid testing, etc. There were a few downsides to the property. 1. The guest bedroom in El Congo smelled terrible our entire stay. There was clearly an issue with the plumbing. The maintenance man tried to fix the problem twice, but it was never resolved. 2. Laundry was not free. The listing shows washer/dryer as an amenity, but you are not allowed to actually use it. The maid has to do any laundry for a fee. Other than that, we loved our time at Castillo de Amber. The pool was lovely and seemed like a thoroughfare for wildlife. Squirrel and Capuchin monkeys were regular visitors. We also saw iguanas and scarlet macaws from our balconies every day.

Beautiful home

We had a party of 12 (3 families) and the house was great. Vanessa the concierge was priceless.....not only was she able to find and book any excursion that we wanted - she was also the person who addressed very quickly any minor issues that we had. There ARE a lot of steps....which I considered great exercise - but if steps are an issue this property may not be for you. We have been to Manuel Antonio 3 times and hope to be back again someday!

Great place

We had a lovely time. The housekeeper was excellent also. If you can get chef Desiree for an evening, I'd Highly recommend. Without a doubt our best meal of the trip. We were only there 5 days because we were traveling in other parts of the country as well, but had we been there a couple more days, we would have booked her again if she was available. Not only is her food great but she has the best personality. They will book trips for you also if you're interested. We had our own itinerary so we didn't need the service, but it's there if you need it. my only comment that's not as five star would be that the steps from the second floor down to the pool are very steep so if you have limited mobility, it might not be the place for you. We had 10 people and one of them had a hurt foot so it was hard for her to go up and down the stairs . The bedrooms cool down very nicely. However there is only one kitchen that is air-conditioned and that's in the Tiki room . The main meeting area is not air-conditioned on the first floor so it was a bit warm during the afternoons, but we stayed by the pool most of the time anyway

Stunning Property, View and Location

We stayed at Castillo de Amber for a bachelorette party and it was absolutely perfect. There were 11 of us and plenty of space. Views were so fantastic that they almost didnt look real. Walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and bars. Could also walk to the beach if you're up for a bit of a hike. Plenty of busses and cabs too. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful view - Howler monkeys each morning for an alarm clock!

Our group of 10 people loved our stay at Castillo de Amber. It's location is a short walk to some of our favorite MA restaurants (Cafe Milagro and Barba Roja) and a short taxi ride from the others (El Avion, La Cantina). The house itself is very well situated, providing enough space for everyone. 2 out of 6 rooms have two twin beds pushed together, so if you have more than 4 couples staying at the house you'll end up pulling straws for who gets stuck with the twins. This wasn't a big deal for our group but it could be for others. The only issue we had was the air conditioning in the one room not working when we arrived, but Vanessa did a great job getting someone to come to the house on Sunday to perform the repair, and since we had an extra room the couple slept in there. The main reason to stay at Castillo de Amber is the view, which is what I most look forward to whenever traveling to MA. Each day we were woken up by howler monkeys in tree around 200 feet from the pool and it was amazing. Everyone would wake up shortly after 5 to meet in the main kitchen, drink coffee, and watch the wildlife. There were several days where the squirrel and capuchin monkeys where running around the pool over our feet as we decided what to do for the day. If you enjoy seeing the wild life in Costa Rica this place will bring it front and center for you each day. Toucans, several types of iguanas, hummingbirds, monkeys, a sloth in the next door neighbor's tree, geckos, and even raccoons where seen throughout our stay. Either raccoons or monkeys got into one of our coolers we accidentally left out at the outside kitchen, leaving a mess that we all ended up laughing about. The only time we saw more wildlife was when we where on the beach at the national park. We loved the view from the main kitchen/dining area. The windows here actually open up, which allowed us to really experience an amazing thunderstorm we had one of the nights. There is a house immediately to the right of Castillo de Amber that you do not really see in any of the pictures, but it didn't matter. The entire group (5 of which had never been to Costa Rica before) had an amazing time during our stay, and the house was a major reason for that. Thank you Vanessa for everything you did, looking forward to the next time we are able to travel to CR.

The house was nice and having a chef for a couple of the days was excellent. The heavy dependence on cash was a logistical challenge and the tour of the rain forest was at the same time interesting and disappointing. Overall, my experiences at VRBO properties in Belize and St. George Island were superior. It is unlikely I will return to Costa Rica.

Great Place near Manuel Antonio

My family enjoyed our week in Manuel Antonio and Castillo de Amber was a perfect place to stay. The location was convenient. We drove to the park and other sites, but we could easily walk to get groceries, coffee, or dinner. We used the upper level. It was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Vanessa was super helpful and went out of her way to make out stay wonderful. The view is great and nearly everyday we would see interesting wildlife right out the window.

Great stay at Castillo de Amber!

We visited Manuel Antonio for a guys' fishing trip with 9 people. Castillo de Amber proved to be the perfect accommodations for us and I'd highly recommend it. The house was great. Views from every floor. The rooms were tidy and clean when we arrived. We loved having maid service every day. The website descriptions were very accurate, and as you can tell from the descriptions, there are 4 different units that are all joined together very well. For our group (9 single guys) it worked great, because everyone had their own living area, but the main floor dining room worked fine as a common area for breakfast and dinner. The swimming pool was great, and we made good use of it every day after fishing. It was very clean, despite the lush foliage that overhangs the patio. The property includes 4 levels with a lot of stairs, so it certainly could be a challenge for groups with elderly or disabled guests. However, the street level unit is the largest and includes the biggest kitchen, so a disabled or elderly guest could stay on that level. One of the highlights of Castillo de Amber was Vanessa, the concierge. It was such a luxury to have a personal concierge, and Vanessa was very prompt, professional and personable. She did grocery shopping, made restaurant recommendations, arranged for a taxi van, and helped us with a small issue with had with the A/C in one of the rooms. She also arranged for a private chef, which was amazing...the chef prepared breakfast each morning, and a steak dinner one night. The location for Castillo de Amber is great. It is located a short (3 min) walk to the main road in Manuel Antonio, and we walked to dinner every night. There is also a sports bar / casino that the guys enjoyed. The casino isn't much, but we played a few hands of low stakes blackjack. From Castillo de Amber, we took a 5-10 minute taxi ride to the marina, and when we went to the beach we actually took the local bus which great. I highly recommend this house, and especially Vanessa and ManuelAntonioRentalProperties.com!

Just stunning

We loved Castillo de Amber, it was like home. We spent 14 days with friends in a Juate Suite and had a wonderful time. Rooms were extremely clean ( 2 bedrooms , living room and kitchen)with air conditioner, with a huge veranda. We loved all the rooms and a great views from this property. Every morning having breakfast you can see this incredible views of the ocean and Manual Antonio park . Nature is everywhere here. From the beautiful tropical birds to monkeys. During our time there were several sunning themselves around the pool. Good location , walking distance to restaurants and stores. Castillo de Amber is a great place to stay and the experience was very positive. Come and enjoy!

Great Place for Families

I had the pleasure of staying at Castillo de Amber this September, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The different apartments worked well for my family--the 'kids' (23 & 26) stayed in their own apartment, and my sister stayed in the 1-bedroom. I also really enjoyed being centrally located--the kids would walk to the bus stop, or bars, and we could walk to the restaurants. Definitely recommended! Tom

A dream!

I had the pleasure of staying at Castillo de Amber this year when my family and I traveled to Manuel Antonio for a week. Loved it! My parents stayed in Amber Chambers--the upper level--while we stayed in Jurate Suite, and my brother and his fiancee stayed in Kastytis Court, the 1-bedroom place. The property had everything we wanted--a big pool, ocean views, and a central location which made it easy for people to get around. We really liked the pool area, which is complete with a kitchen and a grill. Highly recommended!

Perfect fit.

Castillo de Amber is one of those places that works perfectly for certain groups--namely, those that want separate, lockable, independent spaces for different parts of the family. Each apartment has a kitchen, which is nice because it allowed us the freedom to either cook and dine together, or separately, as happened on a couple of occasions. Mostly, we got together in the pool area, where there is a fridge, sink and barbecue grill (and a stereo, I might add). It was an easy walk to our favorite restaurants--Agua Azul, Byblos, Cafe Milagro, etc. You can get a bus to the beach for under $1, and it takes just 5 minutes. I would recommend this place for groups of friends of large families who want to be central, and have independent spaces.

Wondreful place!!!

We spent a couple of nights in Castillo de Amber. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you Eva and Zibby for all your help. The whole place is new and sparkling clean. What a view!!! From every bedroom there is a beautiful ocean view. Castillo de Amber is located close to the beach and Manuel Antonio National Park. It's an excellent place to rest and also close to the heart of Manuel Antonio. I would recommend this place to everyone. Rafal & Elizabeth

Wonderful place for vacation

I wanted to thank you for a wonderful, family vacation. Your home was amazing, from the spectacular ocean view to the first class service we received from the friendly and helpful property managers, to the creative housekeeper with her towel sculptures, and flower arrangements. Our children had the time of their lives, spending hours in the swimming pool! Most mornings we were greeted by the curious monkeys in the bamboo tree. It was absolutely fantastic watching them jump from tree to tree. A great place to stay! I highly recommend this house for families, or couples alike. It was centrally located and a quick drive to the beach. We enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen, as well as being able to walk to nearby restaurants. We can’t wait to return.

Cstillo de Amber .....Exceptional place !!! The owners extremely welcoming and helpful. The facilities are very nice the room super comfortable with just priceless view !I guess the best view in the Manuel Antonio ocean, islands and jungle. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. 100% recommended ! Certainly i will be back there! :)
