Tired and Dirty

This property has great potential, but lack of regular and long-term maintenance shows. Many electrical and plumbing installations do not work; some curtains are hanging off their tracks; indoor and outdoor decoration is in serious need of renewal. Some soft furnishings are stained or dirty. The TV room and Bar Fridge were filthy! The owner assures me "renovation" will commence mid-June, 2019. He also assured me I had paid only half his usual rate as he was aware of "issues". He should have advised me of these "issues" before accepting my booking! I would recommend viewing new photos showing renovations before considering booking!

Huge property with a lovely pool.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lanka Lake Villa during our tour around Sri Lanka. When compared to other properties in this part of the world, Lanka Lake Villa gets A+ rating on cleanliness, comfort, privacy and value for the money. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a comfortable stay.

Excellent Place for a Superb Family Vacation in Sri Lanka

My family and I had a wonderful getaway at this beautiful mansion. It's location was perfect. While you had the Complete privacy of being tucked away in a tropical lagoon full of nature. We didn't do much traveling in the city due to monsoon flooding in Colombo. But the Host Don arrange us to go and visit southern beaches and the mountains. Manager and the staff at the villa were very helpful in getting us transportation and meals delivered. Breakfast was great and was a good introduction to Sri Lankan cosine. thanks for sharing your lovely house with us and wish we could stay longer.

Nice house , but needs cleaning and some maintenance

When we arrived , the house had been without electricity for 12 hours and it was not prepared to our arrival other than that beds were made up and towels laid out. The pool was full of leaves and was dirty, cobwebs and dead insects were in the house, fish pond was broken, so the water was green and the fish had too little water. fountains did not work. Air conditioning in the 2nd floor had problems with fuses , and this we had to find out for yourself. Not good to sleep without, so we fixed the fuses up every time they stopped, when we found the problem. Upon ourdeparture, they had booked into new guests at 11, so they tried to get us out at 9:30 in the morning, and they went sighing around when I made breakfast at 8.30. Generally a sense of lazy caretaker and being in the way. otherwise they were sweet and patient towards our children. Very great full for that. The house need maintainence and cleaning, pictures are a bit old, so they do not give the right impression. It has great potential, the building it self, is very beautiful and it is a very privat and safe place. Recommend people to rent longer then a week, otherwise you will not get to use several fasilities at the house, like dishwasher, cinema room and the nice kitchen.

Memorable stay at spacious and comfortable villa with all amenities

As a family of 8 with parents and grown children plus partners from Germany, Dubai and Singapore and German, English, Portuguese, and Italian nationalities we had a great family reunion in the magnificent villa at Lake Lanka. We enjoyed the space , the facilities, and the service in this place which is ideal for both - a relaxed holiday for a family or location from where to start many day trips to the western, central and southern parts of the island. They also provided excellent taxi service that was with us for the whole time.

Brilliant villa, superb hospitality

The villa is amazing. It is luxurious, comfortable and is actually better than it looks in the pictures. Everything is impeccably clean and well maintained. It is about 45 minutes drive from Colombo but we enjoyed the feeling of isolation in a very safe setting. We partied into the night with loud music and we did not have to worry about disturbing the neighbours. The kitchen is well equipped and we easily cooked a breakfast and dinner for ten people. We did not eat much in the villa since during the day we were sight seeing in Colombo. However, there are a couple of restaurants a few kms away and we saw a few tuktuks on the road outside the villa. The pool is very clean and the water is not chlorinated. We spent a lot of time in it. Fernando and Mahesh were terrific hosts. We were greeted warmly by them and they could not do enough to make us comfortable. They take real pride in maintaining the villa and it showed on their face. Sri Lankan hospitality at its best. I interacted with Don during the booking process and he is terrific too. I must have had about a thousand questions and Don was very prompt in replying and very patient :). I found the pre-booking and pre-arrival process very well organised and thanks to Don, I could book the villa with confidence. Lanka Lake Villa has truly set the bar for our future holidays. It was a spectacular villa made even better by the people involved. My friends and I had an amazing stay and we felt like celebrities enjoying a private little piece of luxury!

AMAZING stay at Lanka Lake Villa!

Words alone cannot describe our magical time during our stay at Lanka Lake Villas. The mansion like property is unique in Sri Lanka, or for that matter, any place. The modern and luxuriously equipped home has 4 air conditioned bedrooms with patios or verandas which all contain their own en suite bathrooms with hot water. The security and seclusion is a major feature, with 2 sets of locked metal gates to the property and no visibility from the road. There is a large fully equipped kitchen as well as a large pantry, spacious verandas for relaxing and hanging out with a drink and a good book. The spacious grounds are well manicured set on a lovely lake. We spotted various species of tropical birds, as well as monkeys in the morning. Or if all of this is not enough, there is a spa and swimming pool for some more relaxing or swimming. There is a theatre room, a gym area, a fish pond that actually has fish swimming from outside to inside the house. The amenities at this location are far too numerous to list. One of the many neat things at the Villa is that there are actually US type A & B 110 volt outlets for our electronics! The staff is housed in a separate building and happily help with any questions. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to sit outside at night without any mosquitoes bothering us...a rare occasion in most Asian countries. We felt like royalty or, as I like to say, like rock stars, as this is exactly the type of place that would be used by such people.

Beautiful Villa, Fantastic Service Wonderful Luxury...!

Off of a quiet road in Dampe. You will never know it from the outside, but the villa is amazing. As soon as we arrived at the villa, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Fernando and Mahesh. This place is absolutely amazing, very well designed; it simply has everything that you need. They were very friendly and extremely professional in the way they maintain the villa and the effort that they go through, to make sure the guests are always happy and satisfied. Lots of space, gorgeous garden and private patios. We loved the private pool in particular, spent a lot of time in it! The villa is very private and secluded. You could easily forget that there are others anywhere near by! The Perfect place to spend a holiday in Sri Lanka or for a quiet romantic getaway. Highly recommend…!

Lanka Lake Villa: A Fabulous Peaceful Retreat.

We are a family six with two young kids, and this place was just the perfect getaway for us. large, immaculately maintained property where the kids could run around, splash in the pool or to run around the lakefront gardens, which is literally meters away. We really enjoyed the peaceful tropical outdoor meditation room/cabana and large covered private balconies. The Villa itself is stunning--spacious, light-filled rooms with well-designed wrap-around glass floating roof and large sliding glass doors in every room, very tastefully furnished and immaculately maintained. We even had our on private Gym. Mr Fernando and his staff were just outstanding, incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming--and particularly with our kids. The location is great. The villa is within few kilometers from the Expressway and Galle road that can take you to all the destinations in Sri Lanka. All in all--a perfect, restful retreat. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing place to stay.

Fantastic Holiday Villa

A palatial villa with lush lake front gardens, friendly and impeccably attentive management. The Villa was amply equipped with two kitchens, two bar areas, cinema room, gym, 4 huge double en suite living spaces. It was a perfect getaway and also to accommodate extended family with lift for less mobile. Air-conditioned in the sleeping spaces and vaulted open living spaces. Car & driver essential, plus if you can, get cooking staff.

A true Tropical Paradise - Lanka Lake Villa

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lanka Lake Villa! It was quite spacious, luxurious and had everything we needed. The children had plenty of room to play and especially enjoyed the large decks and the pool with Jacuzzi. The views and bird sounds were spectacular in the morning and evening! Your beautiful home made our visit to Sri Lanka quite relaxing and a memorable one. Hope to return back sometime again....!"
