Great Villa and amenities

Great location, close enough to Hermosa beach but far enough from the busy main street. Tidy clean and comfortable villa with a nice clean pool, Air conditioning, WiFi, fully equiped kitchen. Close by restaurants and activities of all sorts. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone and we will be coming back for sure.

Wonderful Stay

The property is in a great location close to the beach and restaurants. We were able to observe a variety of birds by just sitting on the patio. The pool is great! Always clean with a great atmosphere. This is a place for some solitude. The property manager is wonderful! She answered all my questions about the area and was very responsive to my concerns. I highly recommend this place.

Safety concern from the family since there is only a metal screen door with lock separating the living quarter to the outside. One of the bathroom has "unpleasant " odor coming from the toilet. Air conditioning dripped water on bed headboard Extra fees charged for pet dog but we got " finger wagged " for leaving the air conditioning on to keep the boy cool. This experience have me convince that hotel stays are well worth the extra monies. Below is snippet from the host comment on the use of air conditioning ...keep in mind there is ONLY a screen door separating the living quarter to the outside." the air conditioning units were left running with doors open throughout the day to accommodate your dogs."

LOVED IT. Quiet, private, immaculate grounds. 10/10 and exactly what we were hoping for.

First time in Costa Rica, really enjoyed our stay here. It's hot. Yes, there's no A/C in the main living quarters but we found it better to help us acclimate. There's A/C in the bedrooms that we kept on while sleeping. As long as you stay hydrated, you'll be fine. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. The stovetop is simple but adequate. The tile, concrete, and wood aesthetic are clean and simple with a local vibe.The pool was gorgeous. Cleanest pool I've ever been in. No detectable chlorine smell. No floaters. No other people. Felt warm but nice. We swam at night and a couple times during the day between excursions. Outdoor showers to rinse off. Super private, surrounded by lush tropical foliage. We had the place to ourselves. Lots of iguanas and some macaws. No ants; we kept all food in the fridge as instructed.The grounds felt secure; there's an entry gate and security cameras everywhere.The owners responded to all of our inquiries quickly. They offered great suggestions for activities; our favorite was Rainmaker Park. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there were maybe 10 other tourists there. We also visited Manuel Antonio and did a Tortuga Island Catamaran trip. The driving takes some getting used to. I do not recommend driving at night; the fresh paved roads are not marked. We rented a manual transmission from Adobe and it worked well. No need for a 4x4. We loved it and will definitely be back. Thank you for a great stay. Pura Vida!

Séjour agréable dans l'ensemble, le pays reste trÚs cher,en ce qui concerne la maison quelques points à soulignés sur l équipement a savoir que nous étions 4 personnes et qu'il y avait que 3 verres 3 fourchettes, manque de vaisselles, la maison était trÚs propre ,pas de piscine a bulles comme indiquer sur l'annonce, un peu déçu par la faune on s'attendaient a voir des animaux dans les parcs et puis nous aurions aimés rencontrer les HÎtes pour nous indiquer les meilleurs endroits a faire.

The property was lovely, really enjoyed the pool and having real hot water in the showers! Everything we needed for our week long stay way there. The AC in the bedrooms was so important as it was very very hot while we were visiting and without the cool bedrooms to retreat to we would have been quite uncomfortable. Really enjoyed seeing the Macaws every evening and iguanas throughout the property. Waterfall walk was a plus and even spotted some capuchins there.

PERFECT

We spent a month here, it was a perfect place for us. Quiet clean and close to the most spectacular black sand beach. Macaws galore, even spotted a toucan. Shawn was readily available to answer any of our questions. We had a glorious time.

For the amount of time we spent in the villa, it accommodated our needs perfectly. There was only two of us residing and we did not spend much time other than to sleep after dark which worked perfectly.

Beautiful but hot

The villa was beautiful and clean. The only issues we had were with the comfort. It is so hot in CR in Feb that after dinner each sweat-drenched person was forced to either go back to the pool, take a shower or go to bed. Air conditioning is only in the bedrooms. Yes, I know it's the full tropical experience but it makes socializing difficult. The living room / kitchen is wide open to the outdoors with a screen wall so there is no way to escape from the heat. You can sit under the fan on the porch to play cards but mosquitoes will find you. We sat on the extremely uncomfortable (think torture rack) futon to watch a movie or two and ended up making pillow nests on the tile floor as a more comfortable alternative. So I would suggest you consider whether you need a/c and if you want to continue to gather as a group in the evening - or anytime of day - in the heat. Perhaps they should invest in a more comfortable futon and some hammocks. There was just nowhere to recline and relax, other than bed.

Great place to enjoy the Jaco and Hermosa area. Villa is very secure and exactly as shown.

Highly recommend this property. Host was very helpful especially meeting us at the gate when we arrived and sharing features of the villa. Very quiet with a beautiful pool area.

TrÚs belle maison dans un environnement magnifique et sécuritaire Nous avons profité de la piscine et de la chute qui se trouve à quelques pas de la maison sur le terrain des proprios. Si vous y allez, ça vaut la peine de monter doucement par les rochers à gauche mais soyez prudents.

Breakfast with the Macaws

Great spot with outdoor seating where you can eat breakfast with the macaws, watch iguanas sun bath in the afternoon and a waterfall is only a short 10 minute walk away. Miele was very responsive and provided some great suggestions for the excursions and food. Can’t wait to go back next year!

A perfect getaway

Property is as advertised and more. We arrived late in the night in the middle of a rain storm and Miele was so accommodating, meeting us hours after our check-in time in the pouring rain. We've never stayed at more peaceful vacation spot. There was ample space for the two of us, and the outdoor patio was perfect for morning coffee and peaceful late-night hangouts, watching the rain and lightning. The small waterfall available to us was absolutely worth the walk by the way. Easy to find, we spotted a ton of monkeys hanging above our heads, watching us, as we pushed through the path to a very private and cool waterfall. Right off the road that took us literally anywhere we needed to go, we were in perfect driving distance to a ton of really great restaurants and other attractions. The restaurant recommendations were spot-on. The staff at these places were so nice and cool to us. Miele, despite being out of the country on vacation, responded immediately to any question we had and Jack would answer in seconds. The pool was super relaxing, private, and much-needed after a long, hot day of exploration. We want to thank Miele and everyone for providing a perfect setting for our honeymoon and when we visit, we will 100 percent be staying here again. Thank you so so much.

Loved it here!!

We traveled to Costa Rica as our daughter’s graduation gift. The location of this house was perfect. The hosts were amazing with giving recommendations as far as car rental, and for our atv ride in the jungle. They answered all my questions and helped to make the trip less stressful for me while traveling with kids. Definitely would recommend this house to anyone wanting to be in the Jaco area. Thank you again. Pura Vida!!

Villa Heliconia

Property is very clean (found a few dead and dying roaches understandable given the climate). A few of the appliances did not work--toaster only half worked, rechargeable flashlight did not work. The pool was very clean but the water temperature was too warm for it to be refreshing. Beautiful environs especially in the morning. sunsets equally beautiful. We saw Capuchin monkeys on the property as well as macaws flying in pairs in the morning heading to almond trees. Very relaxing all in all. It was humid but that is something you adjust to. The large opening to the small terrace had a screen but no door to close . (Villa Heliconia)

nice place, nice beach

The place is small but quite nice. It's located within a gated community and then behind another gate (but that gate has to be opened and closed by hand and doesn't have a lock so anyone can open/close it, so it's more annoying that secure). Our phones didn't work in Costa Rica so we relied on wifi to communicate with the owner, which we didn't have until we were checked into the house so it was difficult to communicate before we checked in (I'd recommend extra steps to get a working phone in Costa Rica - we wanted one often), but the owners responded quickly to messages I posted to them on VRBO and they forwarded them to their caretaker to help us out. The place is described as 1 mile from the beach which sounds walkable, but the caretaker suggested not walking it due to danger (the gated-community road has no sidewalks and deep gutters so it can be dangerous if a car doesn't see you, and the main road you have to cross to get to the beach is very busy and dangerous to cross), but the drive to the beach is quick (except for the annoying gate). The beach itself is quite beautiful, especially at sunset. The local "tiki bar" restaurant was great - slow service but good food and drinks (I don't remember the name but they had tiki statues out front) - at night on the weekend this place got to be wall-to-wall people with loud music. Parking for the restaurants on the weekends is do-able but tricky - it's very popular and there's very little parking and lots of traffic. There's a small market and more beach access about 1/2 mile further north. The property has it's own waterfall: "unlock the gate and walk about 10 minutes to view it" (so many gates!). But the path has multiple intersections and we chose incorrectly and wandered for about 30 minutes before finding it (then on the way back we chose a path we hadn't chosen and it did indeed only take a few minutes). The waterfall was small but cute. On our walk to it we thought we saw a monkey cross the path in front of us, but later decided it was probably a coati (definitely cute, but seems less exciting - they're super common and not much different than raccoons). The gated community has a pool right next to this property (behind another locked gate, but if someone wanted to get in without the key, one wall is made of vegetation and can easily be walked through) - it's quite nice.

Our properties have a little of everything. ItÂŽs nice to be close from town but not in the middle of it. ItÂŽs also located just a few minutes from the beach and from all the great activities. This property is very secure and very clean. Truly perfect to enjoy nature in a nice peaceful environment.
We also offer covered parking, BBQ area, Swimming pool.
