A very comfortable place - perfect base camp for hiking up Guanella Pass, fishing and paddle boarding! The home had everything we needed. It was such a treat to paddle board and fish right from the property. Easy access to downtown Georgetown and a quick walk to the brewery on the lake.

Great Stay

House was very well-stocked, full kitchen with all the things we needed to cook every night, and the views from the hot tub are hard to beat! Honestly cannot think of anything that was missing from our stay; end-to-end the entire experience was seamless.

Great Weekend Getaway

I stayed at the Lake House with my brother, his wife, and our parents who were visiting from Buffalo, NY. The house was conveniently located, well equipped (towels, cookware, roku, etc), and spacious. We were even able to spot bighorn sheep from the front porch! My parents have requested that on their next visit to CO, that we rent the house again. Thanks for a great weekend, Jon!

Spacious clean house on the lake

We stayed here in Dec 2019. Very clean and spacious house on the upper end of lake Georgetown. We did not have any issues with the house, and the owner was very responsive during the booking process as we had to change the initial dates. We will definitely consider staying here again. -The Caldwells from Austin Tx

We stayed in this lovely house in feb 2018 with temperatures routinely below 0 and very windy conditions. However I was impressed by how comfortable and cosy the house was even in the frigid weather. It was an excellent base for our ski trips to Loveland and Breckenridge. The owners had decorated the house beautifully and stocked it quite generously with all kind of supplies - including three humidifiers to help with the dry air at that altitude and temperature. We had to call the property managers once about a question and he answered it within 3 minutes on the phone. - Truly a nice experience.

Great location & beautiful house: felt like home away from home. Nice view of the lake & mountains.

The Bongard entourage, nearly 20 people, was looking to stay in the Idaho Springs area, to get the full, rustic feel of the Colorado mountain scenery. Six of us: me, my girlfriend, brother, uncle, mom and stepdad stayed here 7/5 - 7/13 of 2016. The remainder of our family stayed in two additional places: one more in Georgetown and the other in nearby Dumont. My mother and her siblings grew up in the Denver area. The house was a cost efficient choice with there being 6 of us. If we had booked hotel rooms in the area (and we certainly looked), we would have paid more than twice as much, without the view and with far fewer amenities. The house made our trip very convenient and comfortable by having a fully functional kitchen and laundry appliances at our disposal. Just like if we were at home. The pantry and fridge had your basics and everything was clean. The best thing about the house was the spectacular view from the deck which sat on a shallow lake. We spent lots of time either reading, playing games or just sitting and talking on the deck. The house is swallowed by mountains and dark green, rocky terrain. Jon was very accommodating. He allowed us access to the garage (not originally included in the stay), to use the grill. He also let us extend our stay by an extra day and took it out our damage deposit, which made it easy for everyone. Georgetown was perfect. It has a cute downtown area that is well preserved and historic. It was quite cool to walk the streets and feel like you went back in time. There were enough stores and restaurants to accommodate our needs. Our favorite restaurant was Lucha Cantina, great Mexican, we ate there 3 times during our trip. Some of our family said the Alpine Bar and Restaurant, had great pizza. We made a couple trips to Idaho Springs for additional touristy shops and food options. I suggest visiting Mount Evans, the highest paved road in all of North America, to enjoy an astonishing view from an elevation of 14,265 ft! It is 28 miles up the byway with lots of wildlife and plenty of scenery to keep you occupied all the way to the top. For food I suggest Da Rivuh for authentic Louisiana Creole and Memphis style BBQ. Another great food place is Beau Jo's, they have amazing pizzas! Thanks for everything. We are already planning a repeat trip next year so we can explore the area further. There is so much to do. Great repeat stay

Back again for a second year in a row. Has everything our family of 3 boys needs. Super convenient check in process. Loved the hot tub again and boys loved the board games/video games. Easy drive to Loveland ski resort for skiing. Would stay here again.

Great Location and great home

We enjoyed our stay in this home. It had everything we needed. We did a lot of hiking and some fishing...right out of the backyard. We brought our dog whom also loved the house and area. We would stay here again if in the area. The owners are very accommodating.

Awesome spot!

We loved this house! Our 15 year old son spent hours fishing. We walked to restaurants and shops. It is in close proximity to hiking trails and awesome views everywhere we went! Having a full grocery store 15 minutes away in Idaho Springs was very helpful, as well. The house itself is set up wonderfully. We had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The pups enjoyed it, too. Thank you for sharing your amazing house.

Amazing Family Experience

The views are amazing! The house is spacious and has everything you could possibly need and more! Our family of 5 (kids ages range from 15-5) absolutely enjoyed our stay! The lake is beautiful, the fishing was great, hot tub was huge, and the location is perfect! The kids enjoyed the trails near the house, and the trails near Guanella Pass. Loveland Pass is nearby and worth the trip. The house is nearby anything you could possibly need. Nearby restaurants were so delicious! The home owners are quick to respond and extremely helpful! I honestly couldn't say enough good things about them! LOVED our stay and appreciate the opportunity to bring our family here to make memories!

Wonderful Home

This was a wonderful place to stay! I agree that it is even nicer than the photos with high ceiling rooms. Tucked in the mountains next to a lake in a quaint little town. The hot tub is a nice size that fit our family well. There's a bedroom, adjoining bathroom, kitchen, family room, & large laundry room on the main floor. The second floor has a bedroom, hall bathroom, and loft bedroom. We skied at Loveland Ski Area about 15 minutes away. We had incredible pizza at the Alpine Restaurant and Bar right there in Georgetown not far from the house. Great communication with the friendly, available property manager. We would definitely stay here again!

Warm and cozy holiday home

This home was perfect for us. I think it is better than the photos show. Tim always responded quickly to my questions, and when he learned that we were celebrating Thanksgiving with our sons, he provided knives and serving pieces. There’s so much room, so many extras, the gas fireplace is wonderful, the lake is literally steps away, and minutes from quaint Georgetown for some leisurely shopping. What a lovely place!
