Beautiful grounds

We were looking for a stay away from it all. That's exactly what we found. The grounds are beautiful to walk around, the cabin had everything we needed. We took the short drive to Max Patch for a little adventure. There are not many choices for restaurants or grocery stores. I suggest bringing the drinks and snacks you like and stop at the Ingles for grocery items. If you do go out, Dave's 209 diner isn't all that far and has great burgers. Overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. It was just what we needed to get away from it all and our teenage kids for a bit.

Perfect for a couple

This is a beautiful property surrounded by nature. Perfect for a couple wanting to get away from it all. The cabin is adorable, spotless, and with a great kitchen. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous with just the right amount of people. The hosts were very nice and responsive.

A must stay for couples!

The owners are wonderful and have created an enchanting space for rest, relaxation, and renewal. We wanted for nothing (except a meat thermometer, but that's a first world problem to have; which we easily survived). Everything you could think of was provided. The cleaner does an excellent job of preparing the cabin for you. The craftsmanship and quality of the infrastructures were beyond what we have ever seen in a short term stay rental. At one point my husband, a master carpenter, was on his hands and knees observing the details of the insulated beams. He approved with delight over the attention to detail. At one point he was just standing in the middle of the cabin looking at the ceiling and said "I'm not a fan of overdone shoemold, but when its done right it looks great ". I dont think he has ever fully approved of a space quite like he did this one. Well done to the property owners who have captured every detail so perfectly. They have outdone themselves on the rest of the property too. The trails and flora surrounding the trails and winding falls are straight out of a fairytale. I was disappointed to see in the guest book that no one ever commented on the amazing plum tree in the front yard. We were blessed with offerings of sweet little tangy plums during our stay in July and it was such a treat. Every effort of exploration around the grounds was well worth it. I wish the tree house was available to rent because I can only imagine how amazing it would be. We'll be b

Shhhh! Its Our Secret

First off let me say how great the hosts are. They are close by if you need them but are definitely not within site and youll probabaly never see them. My husband saw them once in 4 days and I never did (although i would have loved to.) The cabin is private, neat, clean and very well equipped. We wanted for nothing. The grounds are so beautiful and the stream that runs through the grounds is just magical. Great waterfalls and enormous boulders. This was our 2nd trip there. I can hardly wait for trip #3. If peace, quiet and total seclusion isnt your thing then this cabin isnt for you. Its a ways from any sort of city life. But if you want relaxation, nature and a small glimpse of heaven then you found the right place. I really wish it was our little secret place but unfortunately i think its getting pretty popular.

Peaceful Anniversary Getaway

My husband and I chose Magic Winding Falls for our anniversary getaway, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Tucked away in Hot Springs, NC, this cabin provided the perfect setting for a romantic escape. With a cozy fireplace and a private waterfall, every moment was pure relaxation. The hosts thought of everything, and the location was ideal for exploring the area. Our anniversary trip was unforgettable, thanks to Magic Winding Falls!

Hiking Couple's Dream

We loved our stay at Winding Falls! To clarify the property layout to those concerned by other reviews saying that the owner's home is close by it is not. If the property was sectioned into 4 the far left area of the property is where the beginning of their driveway and the the picnic table above the falls is, there is another quarter of the property that is a trail up and down the cascades that eventually run through the owners property that make up the 3rd portion of the property that you do have to pass to get to the falls but the 4th area of the property with the cabin itself is still definitely far enough that you do not see or hear absolutely anything from the other home. I doubt they could even hear you scream at the top of your lungs. There's lots of great areas in the cascades perfect for dipping your toes in on a hot day and the town of Hot Springs is such a charmer. There was enough trails to hike an entire day just on the grounds, but if you're booking here (as you absolutely should) I highly suggest trekking with llamas with the llamas of Hot Springs the hike is super easy and the llamas are so much fun. Local eats like the Creek Tavern and Grey Eagle Taqueria are a must try as well as the Artisun coffee shop. The only tv in the house is wall mounted so if you're the type to fall asleep with the tv on like my husband be prepared to scroll on your phone instead (but who comes to the mountains to worry about the tv right?) The fireflies at night was the best part!

My husband & I celebrated our honeymoon at Winding Falls Cabin in 2017. Seven years later, we wanted to return to this very special place. It was just as we remembered - so quaint and cozy with the perfect attention to the little details that make you feel so welcomed. To hear the waterfalls from the front porch to the coziness of the kitchen and living space, this cabin is the absolute perfect getaway. It's become "our place" and we already look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely stunning property!

I decided to book my first solo trip for my birthday and I couldn’t have picked a better place and even extended my stay another day! Ms. Leigh was very quick to answer my inquiries after I booked and was a delight to speak to in person. The cabin itself was cozy and clean. I ended up not leaving the property at all and just enjoyed the peace and quite on the front porch plus the trails on property. The waterfalls were beautiful and could be heard from the cabin. I cannot wait to return!!

Little slice of paradise

My significant other and I had such a great relaxing time at this cabin. The property is beautiful! We loved having our coffee every morning on the porch and watching the humming birds. We explored the property and the water feature, which was so cool! Such a great place to stay, far enough to feel secluded but close enough it’s not too far of a drive to town or a hiking spot. The owners are so kind and responsive if you happen to need anything during your stay.

Serenity

This place is absolutely perfect! We were not ready to leave and are talking about a future stay. The property is so peaceful. The cabin and decor itself is beautiful in every way. The seating inside and out is perfect for getting lost in your surroundings or a good book. The night sky😳. We have NEVER seen so many stars. It was absolutely mesmerizing. We didn’t get to hit the trails because it rained most of the afternoon/evening Saturday and we had already decided to drive into Hot Springs in the morning to enjoy a hot mineral water soak at the spa, which we highly recommend. I am a water snob😅. I filter my water and carry it wherever I go, especially when I go out to eat or I buy spring water when I stay away from home. The water in the cabin is amazingly delicious.

A piece of Heaven in the Mountains

This is an amazing cabin that has all of the amenities you could ever dream of needing while on vacation. The cabin is nestled in the mountains and the only thing you hear while sitting on the covered front porch is the water rushing down the falls/rocks, the birds chirping, the crickets singing and an amazing solitude that is so hard to describe. The inside is furnished so comfortably and stylish that every where you look, is something that makes you smile. All the decor is so fitting for the mountains, location and the sounds. Very comfortably climate-wise. Never had an issue with the temperature as the bedroom is in the loft, but with the A/C and the ceiling fan going it was more than pleasant. Every morning we opened the screen covered french doors and the front door to enjoy the natural beauty and sounds all around. Leigh & Wolf were delightful and accomodating. This is definitely somewhere that would be 5 star location for anyone wanting to enjoy peace, solitude and time away from all the hustle and bustle of day to day life!!!!

Wooded Wonderland

This location is perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the everyday rat race. The trails, waterfalls, and super cool cabin are perfect for slowing your pace and enjoying nature. We ventured into Marshall and enjoyed a 5 mile tube ride on the French Broad. (Mad Co Tubing). Stay here…you won’t regret it!!

30 year Anniversary trip

Our first trip to the area and the cabin and scenery was perfect. Cabin was exactly how it was advertised and the owners were very responsive with a couple of minor issues we had during the week. We ate a few lunches at the picnic table by the waterfall and hiked all the property trails. Get your groceries before getting to the cabin as the nearest grocery store is a commute due to the windy mountain roads. We absolutely loved this cabin and spent quite a few hours just sitting on the porch listening to nature.

Excellent

This cabin is the nicest, most well maintained vacation rental we've ever stayed at. You will be pleased! The waterfalls (really a cascade) are a 15 minute hike from the cabin for someone slow like me and may be too difficult a walk if you have mobility issues. However, there is a private parking area with a picnic table at the head of the falls, so you can drive there and explore the area without climbing the hills. It is gorgeous.
