Perfect Lake Location

We stayed for several weeks and had grandchildren visit on the weekends. The location is perfect, house is on a quiet cove and close to everything you need. The house has wonderful views, plenty of space, well stocked, modern appliances and wifi was good.

Another great stay on Lake Norman

This is our third visit to this property and we had a great time again. The house has everything you'd need for a week at the lake and Mike went out of his way to make it a great visit.

A great week on the lake

Mike went out of his way to make sure we had everything our family of four needed to ensure a fun and relaxing stay. The location is great -- out there, but still close enough to the conveniences of civilization.

This is the most relaxing, peaceful, perfect cove, lake getaway house that we could have asked for. Sure hope to make the visit again in the future!

Great week at the lake

We loved our time at Lake Norman. Michael was great to work with and the house was clean and welcoming. We loved sitting on the porch looking at the lake while eating our breakfast each morning.

Denver Delight!

This house is fantastic! The windows create an amazing view and are like artwork showing the outside. There is a rustic feel but the many designer elements made my stay very elegant. The deck has a fan which was a great touch and the whole property is very private. The area is very charming and secluded, yet access to Rt 16 is just down the road. Michael the owner was easy to communicate with and made check-in/out easy and was always available to answer any questions and make sure my stay was great. I can't wait to visit again.

Beautiful cottage

We loved everything about this place. Michael was so responsive and accommodating with any questions we had, which were only a minor couple of questions. The place was clean and views of the lake were spectacular. Several fun hang out areas to choose from. We rented a pontoon from nearby Safe Harbor and it was super easy to dock at the cottage. We cooked a couple of meals there and the kitchen had everything we needed. We highly recommend this cottage!

Perfect family getaway.

Could not have asked for a better location for a quiet family vacation. The house is situated on a lovely road country road and the bay is perfect for kids to swim in. We had access to a plethora of kayaks, inflatables and a paddle board. Michael was a super helpful host and was willing to go above and beyond to accommodate us. Hopefully we will be back soon, I was very sad to leave.

Lake Retreat

Nice quiet location. Beautiful views of the trees and lake from each room of the house. Very clean home. Quiet retreat, but with quick access to stores and restaurants. We grilled on the porch most every day. We were there for a month, and I did not tire of the view. Would definitely stay again. The owner was very responsive whenever I needed a question answered.

Relaxing Cabin

Great property in a great location in Denver. We loved the warm, rustic cabin look and feel but it was actually quite modern as far as appliances etc. The house was suprisingly well stocked. We loved taking the kayaks out, enjoying coffee on the dock and on the deck and making a fire at night. Also this may sound minor but I really appreciated that we never once saw a spider in the house, which is impressive with how wooded the lot is. We enjoyed lunch at My Brothers Bagel, and food and pastries at the nearby cafe. Overall wonderful stay and we hope to come back again!!

Peaceful retreat

I needed a positive environment to recover from surgery, and this house was near perfect. The numerous windows allowed me to enjoy the view of the water and trees from sunrise to sunset. On warmer days I sat on a porch rocker to commune with all sorts of birds. The house house its quirks - Ikea appliances require consulting instructions - but I ended up quite happy with the kitchen once I figured it out. The owner is incredibly responsive, and personally came by to replace a leaking toilet within hours of being notified. The neighbors seem a bit close at times, but are friendly and helpful. I felt completely safe in the area, and met more folks on my many walks along Shipps Lane. My suggestions for improvement would be: level up the front steps for safety, and possibly add graphics/labels to the light switches. For off-season indoor dwelling, a few more reading lamps & couch pillows (just basics from Target) would be nice in the living area. In summary, I was grateful to have spent 4 weeks at this special house. I would love to visit again during kayaking weather!

Quirky and cool small cabin

Stayed a week. The owner was very responsive. The cabin has a quirky and cool vibe. It was very clean inside. The beds and pillows are quite comfortable. This was our first time on Lake Norman and the lake is HUGE. We loved and used the kayaks, paddle board and tube. The master bathroom is great. Hot showers! The house is close to groceries and restaurants. Great wifi and great AC. The cabin has a few negatives that might bother some guests. Living area is small which is accurately reflected in pictures. You should definitely bring your own lakeside towels as there were only 3. (Bath towels were plentiful though.) The master is an open loft and the basement bedroom is also open so you hear the TV or any conversations up and down. It’s also a bit dark inside. The basement bathroom toilet had an issue and we kept having to take the tank top off and fiddle with it. (We didn’t report it and I’m sure it would have been handled if we had.) During our stay, the property had a lumber pile/some construction debris in the front yard which made it seem trashier than it actually is. Some people may be bothered by the location with huge electrical towers next door. But we were ok with it. It’s not a luxury cabin but it was a lot of fun, has a great dock and we enjoyed it. Lastly, the IKEA appliances requires a little learning curve but worked fine.

Fantastic Week

My husband and our adult daughter and I stayed for the week at this property. We had an awesome time on the lake - we made great use of the two kayaks and one stand up paddle board and the dock right on the property. The protective cove was the perfect place to practice and learn on the SUP. We loved being on the quieter side of the lake. It was close to all we needed - groceries, gas, coffee, ice cream - but far from the traffic. The house had all we needed and more - super clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. We cooked every day and grilled a few times with the included grill. The kitchen was plenty big and well stocked. Michael was very easy to communicate with and always had suggestions for our requests. We would highly recommend!

Excellent Experience

The lake house is in a perfect location, directly in front of the lake, with beautiful views off the dock. It’s a cozy cabin-type house that was perfect for my husband and I. Everything was clean and as described. Shops and restaurants and local amenities are within a short driving distance. We both are busy professionals and this was just to get away we needed. Michael was fantastic as a host. Communicating with us, responding immediately, recommending local stuff, and he was so gracious about us bringing our cats. We wanted to shorten our visit by 2 days, and he spent time on VRBO trying to make that happen for us. We consider his service to be over and above! We definitely recommend him and his place. Five stars all the way!

The house was great and had everything we needed. The sunfish was a nice bonus. First week of August was very quiet on this lake.

The best experience I have ever had with a rental home

I have never stayed in a vacation rental home that I didn't have to pack half of my house to take with me. I was blown away when the owner said "bring a tooth brush and clothes". This place was amazing and the easiet vacation to prepare and pack for. Beautfil home, quite location. Close to convience and grocery stores. Provides books, movies, bed linens, towels, wash cloths, dishes, kayaks, fire pit, rocking chairs on the dock,,, too much to list. Gental slope to the dock. Quite cove on quite part of the lake. Just a wonderful experience and a good, easy week of relaxation --- exactly what this family needed. Thank you Michael

Quiet Paradise

This property was a great place to unplug and unwind, while still having the modern conveniences of WiFi/TV/ full kitchen (if you want them)! The cabin is GREAT, very clean, and fully stocked with anything you might need. It feels remote, but just a short 10 minute trip to restaurants/Walmart etc. The lake is right at your doorstep! Our family of 4 had a wonderful time. The owner was incredibly helpful and responsive. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Michael!

The Perfect Place with Great Hosts

We rented this space for 12 days as a short term rental during a relocation. The location is amazing, right on Lake Norman with a beautiful dock for fishing or Launching one of the provided Kayaks in for a float. The quiet street with a small farm down the way makes evening walks fun and entertaining to visit with the cows and horses. The home is so cool, a custom designed space optimizing views of the surrounding beauty with cool finishes throughout. This place was built with love and is so enjoyable to enjoy it. We really enjoyed staying in the upstairs loft and having the kids in the basement bunk room. The space was really nice for the 3 of them to enjoy as 'thier' space and hang out. The kitchen was well stocked and the kitchen table and table under the covered deck were perfect for family meals. The hosts are amazing. Communication was excellent leading up to and during the stay. It was obvious they wanted to make sure our family of 5 had a great experience and they definitely succeeded. We can't wait to come back to Lake Norman and rent with them again.
