Pictures don't do justice!

This property was absolutely beautiful, we will definitely be back. Our whole family was able to relax while looking out at the incredible views. The pool was perfect , and the trees provided much needed shade in the hottest part of the month, which also kept the pool cool. Walking the trails in the morning was a great start to our day. We definitely needed more time at this magical place!

Wonderfully peaceful place!

The Hilltop Hideaway was absolutely wonderful! It is so quiet and peaceful! Plenty of room! Everything was very well kept and clean. The view was amazing! I definitely would recommend this to others, and I would book it again if traveling back to the area. LOVED OUR STAY!

Family Vacation

Hilltop Hideaway was the perfect setting for our family vacation. Everything about the houses, pool, hot tubs and location was perfect. Such a beautiful, relaxing place. The pickle ball court was a fun and unexpected addition to our stay. This is the first house I've ever rented that I would want to return to. Hope to be back next summer for another fun-filled vacation. We did not want to leave!!!

Family get away

The area was beautiful. It’s everything I like and my kids liked. I never thought I would have been able to stay in a place like this. I did miss being able to have my dog with me because I know she would have loved it. The pool and Hot Tub was also great. The privacy of the area was also great. Just make sure other clients know to make sure they bring enough food supply and water because the nearest store is pretty far .

Wedding Stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had lots of wedding activities to attend, but afterward, we really enjoyed the pool and the hot tubs!! We even had a young coyote come in late one night while we were in the hot tub. He sat there for about an hour. Very cool!! The space was perfect for our group size.

Girls Retreat

We went to Hilltop Hideaway for a girls retreat. The property and views are absolutely beautiful. Both houses are fully stocked and had everything we needed for a great weekend. I would probably stay here again but there were a few hiccups throughout our stay that need to be addressed. 1st issue was the hottub that is connected to the pool. One of the main reasons we booked this house was because of the 2 hottubs we had 8 women on this retreat and one hottub would not hold everyone so 2 was the perfect answer. Unfortunately the hottub connected to the pool does not work. I went back and forth with the management company at first they told me it wasn't a hottub that it was just an extension of the pool. I told them the heading to their listing states 2 hot tubs. So then they got a tech on the phone many hours later that walked me through how to use the remote which there were no instructions for. Once we got the hottub turned on with the remote he told me to go check out the hottub to make sure it was blowing warm water. The hottub was not blowing hot water just cold water. He then directed me to go over to the pool equipment to feel the air coming out of the vent on the heater. It was blowing cold air as well. We waited for the error message to come up on the heater screen. Once we got that error message it was either out of propane or the ignitor switch inside of the heater. I finally located the propane tank on site (it is under ground) and verified that there was indeed 80% propane so it was the switch. The tech said they could not come out till Monday or Tuesday which was of no use to us since our check out day was Sunday. Hopefully this is fixed for the next people that stay there. This was disappointing to us since this was definitely an amenity that we were looking forward to enjoying on the cool evenings. 2nd issue on Friday the septic system on the Bunk House backed up. We had sewage that was coming back up through the toilets. At first I thought someone had clogged the toilet so we looked for a plunger finally found one and started working on the toilet. This did not resolve the issue so I again I started messaging the management company. I located the alarm on the side of the house that was red that indicated something was wrong with the septic system. They would not send anyone that day and said it would be the next day around 7:30 am when someone would come out. This was not the answer we wanted to hear since we had 4 people staying in the Bunk House that could no longer use the toilet, shower, or sinks. But that didn't matter to the management company. So the next morning the septic guys show up do whatever they do and are standing around in the driveway for a long time. I finally went out there an asked if it was all fixed and they said no they were waiting on the homeowners approval to fix the pump. He said they have everything with them to fix it but have to have approval. About 30 minutes later I see them getting in their truck to leave. I go out there and stop them and ask is it all fixed can we use the toilets and things now. He said no it is not fixed the homeowner declined the work being done. He said he pumped some from the tank and got the pump to work but it is only temporary you might be able to flush the toilet once or it might last a month no way to tell. I could not believe that the homeowners declined this repair to be done when there were guest staying in this house not know when or if the septic system would hold up for the time that we had left there. Luckily for us the septic system held up. These are the 2 major issues that we had while staying on the property. There were other minor issues that the management company needs to address like the outlets not working in the master bathroom and the bathroom upstairs and the trails on the property need to be maintained there are trees laying across the trail and bushes that you have to walk through on the middle of the trail. Also the departure instructions are not correct on how to lock the doors for the main house or the bunk house. There should also be instructions in the house on how to use the remote for the pool/hottub and also the stand alone hottub. There are signs everywhere about fines if you break these items but no instructions on how to use them.

Disappointed…

Upon arrival we see that the “new” pool is very green and equipment not running the filters. Obviously it had been left like this for quite some time for it to be that green. I notified the management company and nothing ever happened in the 3 days we were there. Master bedroom AC temp is 11 degrees hotter than the thermostat reads. The tv is the master bedroom is very old and cannot load any apps such as Netflix. The remote has a not on it that HDMI 1 is for local tv, there again it was not functioning. The living room tv also could not connect to local tv and constant messages for updates needed causing intermittent Netflix use. The fact that no one ever came to clean the pool and hot tub is very bad customer service as the pool is the 1st picture you see in this VRBO listing. This has been the worst rental we have had.

Great place to stay for a hill country get away

We stayed at this property during July 4th weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The property had a great pool, a great view, fire pit and outdoor grilling amenities (including a green egg which we cooked a delicious brisket on!) The property is also close to Jacob’s well and fairly close to downtown Wimberly which was nice. We did have a few issues figuring out how to turn on some of the outdoor lighting and pool controls but the property manager was quite responsive to our questions. Only thing I would say could have been better is the trash situation. There are no outdoor trash cans close to the property and you need to take the trash bags out to the trash cans by the street which is quite a hike. Overall though I would say our stay was very enjoyable and would consider staying here again in the future.

Wonderful property, very nice house and bunkhouse. Quite and relaxing. Poll was outstanding and the view drinking coffee in the morning was outstanding. We had a wonderful time and will try to use the house again, when we can.

Hilltop Hideaway - Perfect Vacation!

This beautiful, remote property definitely met our family’s expectations and needs during our 5 day stay with the main house plus bunkhouse, large deck, great pool, and oak tree covered property with plenty of outdoor space to spread out and enjoy. We celebrated our 50th Anniversary here with our children, their spouses, and 5 grandchildren. Our 11 member extended family’s ages range from 1 to 69, and all enjoyed our stay immensely. The beautiful pool was a big hit for all, especially the grandkids, along with the hiking paths, and grassy area between houses where we played croquet. We spent many hours on the large deck, complete with 2 grills and lots of seating, and played table games at the large covered outdoor picnic table. There are stone paved walkways complete with rustic landscaping between the houses and pool trailing down to the wooden swing and Adirondack chairs overlooking a peaceful hill country view. The houses afforded plenty of living space and bedrooms, and the kitchen in the main house was fully stocked. The separate bunkhouse complete with a mini kitchen area was the perfect addition for extra living space and beds. We all wished we could have spent another few days!

Great property, poor management

We encountered a few issues during our stay from cleanliness to items broken posing a danger to our four year old and internet outages. However, the highlight of bad came from the pool situation. I have been in hospitality for 12 years, and luckily very aware that periodically a pool must be treated due to the volume of visitors. Let's start there. The issue arises from a lack of communication regarding the scheduling of this maintenance, in addition to the potential health risk our family was exposed to. The reason we chose this rental had primarily to do with the pool and hot tub (attached, that did not work - pool remote did not work either.) We noticed the pool maintenance technician in the yard, and at the pool. He never once said hi, knocked on the door, or left a note. He was there about an hour, and left. Our four year old had been asking to go back to the pool since that morning. We promised her we would. When we got to the pool it was murky with white specs in it. Did NOT looks safe at all. Called management, and it took them forty minutes to give us a straight answer to NOT enter the pool for 24 hours. WE HAD TO CALL. No one notified us. Had it not been for us paying attention to the fact that a man was at the pool, and the water looked off, we could have caused serious skin injury to our daughter and ourselves. I told Vacay (management company - Tristan specifically I believe his name was,) that we expected compensation because it put a wrench in our vacation AND

Beautiful place

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had the best time and made lots of memories. This property is amazing. Location, great accommodations, cleanliness, fully equipped, pool, etc…it has it all. Couldn’t have asked for anything else.

Gorgeous Views!

This property is amazing! Plenty of room for a large gathering. We cooked at “home” and we had everything we needed. Beds are comfy and lots of closet space. The property is beautiful. The deck, patio and pool area are like something out of magazines. The view is really breath taking! The property management is wonderful to deal with. They even called us to make sure we had everything we needed! We would definitely recommend staying here!
