TÀmÀn kodin on suunnitellut havaijilainen arkkitehti Thomas Bingham (Frank Lloyd Wrightin suojelija) sisÀ- ja ulkotiloihin asumiseen ja viihteeseen. SiinÀ on 5 makuuhuonetta, joissa jokaisessa on oma kylpyhuone, Master-sviitissÀ nauttia tÀydellisestÀ yksityisyydestÀ omassa kerroksessa. Lanai-kaapit ulottuvat suolaisen veden uima-altaan ja alemman tason terassien yli, josta on henkeÀsalpaavat nÀkymÀt golfkentÀlle ja valtamerelle dramaattisin iltaisin auringonlaskuin. Kokkeille on ulkona kaasugrilli ja baarikeittiö, gourmet-keittiö, jossa 2 jÀÀkaappia, 2 astianpesukonetta ja jÀÀpalakone. (Muille kuin kokkeille on useita ravintoloita muutamassa minuutissa talosta.) Vacation at the Magnificent Mauna Kea Home

House was outstanding. It was all that it was advertised to be. The house was outfitted more upon arrival than most places we have stayed. The property manager was excellent! Would stay there again and recommend it to anyone who is considering renting it for a stay on the Big Island.

Our Family has just returned from a wonderful vacation in Mauna Kea Hawaii. Our VRBO rental was absolutely fantastic. The house was in exceptional condition and located was exceptional. None of us wanted to return home, and we would happily return to this property in the future.

Family Vacation

We rented two homes through VRBO for our family of 17. This big house has a 10 foot deep pool that all the kids loved. The patio area was perfect for card games, cribbage and outdoor dining. Both of the hotels’ beaches and pools were delightful.

Beautiful sunsets every night

The house is amazing with plenty of space and everything you need. Loved the pool, the view and the peaceful mornings and evenings sitting on the wonderful outdoor furnishings. The host was very helpful and responsive and even had a mid-week cleaning. Highly recommend it!

Amazing home!

If you’re going to the big Island this is the place to stay! Words cannot begin to describe how wonderful this home is. It’s beautiful both inside and out, very private, has great views of the ocean and was perfect for our party of 8. We really liked how the bedrooms were spread out giving everyone their own space and their own private bathrooms. Communication with the owner and property manager is excellent too, and we really appreciated the mid week housecleaning service. Of all the VRBOs we’ve stayed at, this is one of our favorites!

Museum living

You would be hard pressed to find a house with a better location in Mauna Kea. Unobstructed views of the ocean promise the best sunsets Hawaii has to offer. The house is amazingly well stocked so once you are here, there is little reason to leave. The bedrooms are spread out and no one feels cramped. The lanai wraps around so you can have drinks watching the sunset and step up to the eating/BBQ area. I appreciated the property manager checking in with us just so you knew there was someone to call. The house is like something out of Architectural Digest and it is worth taking time to admire the pieces they have collected from their own adventures. It is also a house that deserves to be well cared for and respected - not a party pad. We had a wonderful time and will look for a reason to return!

Our best time in Hawaii (except for our wedding)

Our family (spouse, children and granddaughters) had an absolutely wonderful time at this gorgeous and fun home inside the Mauna Kea Resort. The views were incredible, and the heated saltwater pool was so enjoyable it was difficult to do anything but go for a swim. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we ate out only three times during our 12 day stay. We simply could not tear ourselves away from this magical spot inside another magical spot (Mauna Kea Resort). The internet is blazing fast, and there is also good cell reception at this home, although the TVs are a little dated. That being said, we often did not even turn on the TV as we were having too much fun doing other things. The owners have a huge collection of African art, vintage photographs, and shields from Papau New Guinea all over. All this made our visit even more unique as we puzzled over various artifacts and photos. We can't wait to return!

A Truly Special Vacation Home

We are so lucky these homeowners have chosen to share their Hawaiian home. It is, indeed, magnificent. Our group -- multigenerational from Grandma to her youngest grandchild (age 1) -- numbered 15. The house was perfect for us -- beautifully done without being overly precious. There were ample common spaces (on the lanai for sunrise and a long breakfast was the best), and then the bedrooms were so perfectly spread out that each part of our family had its own private wing. The kitchen was supremely well stocked -- we cooked big meals almost every night. There was a great selection of flotation devices for the pool (where we spent every late afternoon after coming back from an adventure). There were books about Hawaii to read, a grand piano for us to enjoy, and views of the ocean and the horizon that were picture perfect every hour of the day. The house was cleaned every day by two charming housekeepers -- who were also locals and full of delightful Hawaiian energy! And Karen, the amazing house manager, let us be alone completely while also letting us know she was only ever a text or phone call away. We felt so secure and well taken care of. We would recommend this: buy access passes for the two resorts so that you can use the beaches and their amenities. And parents of little kids be warned: there is no shallow end to the pool. Not a big deal, and we were told before hand, but it's just something you should know. We definitely used the house as a base camp -- explored all over the island, and came back every day to what felt like our very own home. But whether you stay put or travel around, this house has got to be one of the most beautiful places on the Big Island to call your own (for a week or two!).

The house was well equipped and wonderfully air-conditioned in the bedrooms and kitchen area. The property manager checked in with us periodically which made it nice. She was super easy to work with! Overall it was a great experience.

Beautiful stay in Mauna Kea at Amazing Property

The house was beautiful - accented by incredible African artwork and well appointed. Everything we needed was there - we catered several dinners and the Chef noted how well appointed the kitchen was to cook gourmet mealsThe property manager couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. Beautiful place - only downside (if there is one) is you need a car to get down to the beach - the walk is too far.

Phenomenal home away from home

What surprised me about this property is how I felt I was staying at my own home. Every possible gadget, accessory, condiment or whim I needed, was at my fingertips. 2 refrigerators, an ice maker, 2 dishwashers, food processor, coffee makers, spices, baking needs, bbq, water bottles, shampoos, detergent, bug spray, sunscreen, cleaning accessories, steamer, board games, you name it, it was found in one of the many drawers and cabinets. Karen and Linaya were a pleasure to work with. I had fresh food and produce delivered from Foodland, Karen the house manager received and put everything away before I arrived at the house. The house itself was homey and comfortable. The views...spectacular. The sunsets each evening were our favorite time while hanging out on the lanai or pool. Each room had it's own bathroom. Access to the hotel and it's amenities is an extra charge. Definitely request to add this package. It made golf, using the hotel gym. restaurants and the beach facilities a breeze. Thank you to Linaya and Karen for making our vacation so easy and memorable. We will be back for sure.
