We LOVE staying at Harbour Oaks!

Great location! Close to the beach, pier, Pier Village, dog park & pickleball courts, and other island amenities. This unit is clean and nicely decorated and furnished. We had everything we needed. Note that the AC is really loud. Other than that it is perfect for a family/group of up to 4 adults.

Very close to the village, shops, and beach accesses. Gated which was very nice. Comfortable and homey. Would rent again. Would be nice to have waterhose at front of property for convenience for rinsing off sand as we always entered thru the front door. Was one at back of property. Pet friendly. Overall a wonderful stay. We visit St. Simon’s every year. Was worried as this was our first trip without an ocean view rental, but it was just as nice.

A Little Disappointed

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The community was lovely! However, the condo was less than expected. It has good bones just not taken care of. One bath had the shower door off with a curtain to replace. Other bath had moved shower bar and not repainted. Door to laundry room came off track often. There was trash outside unit(just needed to be picked up off ground). There were bleached out parts on couch cover where stains had probably been. The kitchen sink had stains that could have been removed with the correct cleaner. It could be a lovely unit if it were taken care of. Also the AC(nest control) went up during night leaving you warm in early morning.

Great Location

This is the third time we have rented in Harbour Oaks. The location to the pier and beach can't be beat. The unit was very clean and comfortable and Emmons Realty responded quickly to our questions.

Perfect Location at Saint Simon's

We've used VRBO several times this year and have enjoyed all of our stays. This time, we needed some help from the rental company. They were excellent. The rental unit was all that we had expected. Loved the location, too.

Annual end of summer family trip

We stayed in this unit this year for our annual end of summer family trip to SSI. It was very quiet (last week of summer before school starts around the state) and perfect for our needs. The complex is gated, it’s a short walk to downtown and centrally located to popular beaches. The property management company is exceptionally responsive and we appreciated that when we arrived to find a dead squirrel just off the back patio that was drawing a huge amount of flies. They removed it within an hour of our arrival. We enjoyed our stay at this unit and recommend for anyone looking for a pleasant stay on SSI!

Could not find a “direct” tv remote for the tv in the living/family room, had to watch “live” sports in bedroom, downer. Found live cockroach in kitchen sink, suggests inadequate pest control services. All else, excellent.

Need a few necessities

Nice condo. Clean. Safe. Good for solo ladies. Please put more kitchen towels and wash clothes. I like to be super clean but there was not even a wash cloth for the kitchen. No bath mat in the master bedroom. Second toilet did not flush. Just a few little touches would make it perfect. Loved the location. Pool was so enjoyable.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although we liked the location and unit. We had a problem with roaches that was never resolved. We could not use the dishwasher most of the time and also saw them in the bathrooms. We reported this a couple of days into our stay and even though we were told an exterminator was coming, they never showed up. We were offered big spray which we were not comfortable using indoors. Sadly. We will not be returning.

Was disappointed that the unit was in same condition as last time which was over a year ago. Sliding glass door doesn’t lock and there are no shower heads. The door to laundry room is broken. Same issues as last time. I think the unit needs a little refresh. Love the lcommunity but wouldn’t stay in that unit again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Emmons Vaca Rentals are very reasonable and accommodating. I have used them for vaca rentals in SSI and always pleased. This particular unit needs some updated decor. The storage was an issue in the kitchen and the bedroom, too much clutter in each closet with old blankets, pillows, stacks of pictures no longer hung on walls, etc. Kitchen items such as snacks, bread, coffee, etc. had to be placed on the very small countertop, not a single cabinet was available. It is overly stocked. The beds are very comfortable, the den furniture so so. Harbour Oaks is a great location, very well kept landscape and gate code secured. I will continue to rent there, just a different unit as I have done before.

Really Nice Time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We always stay at Harbour Oaks and this was our first time at 309. It was really nice. I do wish the property owners fix the sliding door lock, as that made us feel uneasy, especially with a toddler. You can tell the lock has been repaired several times. Getting the fitness room key could have been explained in the condo directions. The light bulbs used in the toilet rooms are weird and keep the rooms dark for a while (energy efficient?), which scared the kids. LOL! AND PLEASE install ceiling fans in the bedrooms! That would have made sleep a little bit better, as the A/C is either freezing or you are hot from no air circulation.But overall, our stay was really nice and these things just rolled off our backs. 309 was a great place to be!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We almost had a nice stay but on our first day we were greeted by 2 roaches and a silverfish. On the second day we were out from morning to evening. When we got back and turned on the light, guess what, MORE roaches in the kitchen and bathroom.! I called your office in the morning to report the problem but no answer. I then called the number given on the letter posted in the kitchen for a Carol. Carol was not only rude, she constantly interrupted me and told me that it was not HER problem and that I was to get in touch with the owner of the unit to get an exterminator.We have been renting vacation homes for 14 years and never have we been treated so incredibly rudely. So, the answer is, no, we would never rent through your agency again nor would we recommend you to anybody.Was the condo "clean"? I don't think so. The experience and treatment was utterly disgusting!

Great location, very clean, fast communication

We had a great time! It was our first trip to GA. It was an awesome location for day trips to other barrier islands and walks downtown. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe (it's gated), but the neighbors didn't return our smiles or waves :( The kitchen was pretty tight, and I didn't find the garbage can behind the laundry door for a couple days, ha ha. We had nearly everything we needed in the kitchen/laundry thanks to the starter pack and leftover coffee & filters, but an outdoor grill would have been ideal and also a fan in the master bathroom. Beds were very comfortable with crisp white sheets. When the bracket for the sliding glass door curtain fell out of the plaster (when we opened the curtain in the morning) the Realty company was really cool about it and didn't give us a hard time. When the keypad-front door lock's battery died we were locked out for over an hour, but Donna's response time (after 9pm at night) and her communication was exceptional (after leaving a msg on their voice mail). Having clearly marked and working spare keys on hand would have alleviated several bug bites that night but she gave us some extra time to check out the next morning which we really appreciated. All in all, we really liked it and were very comfortable there. We would definitely stay there again. Hopefully it would be warmer and less rainy so we could try the pool!

Very disappointed

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Let’s start by saying the living room is cute and well furnished. That’s the only good thing I have to say about it. The entire rest of the unit needs UPDATED. The furniture is so dated and worn and not at all comfortable. The master bath is a joke, not even big enough to turn around in and the lighting in the shower area is so dim you can hardly see. The kitchen is not stocked well as far as plates, glasses, etc. I needed to rewash some of the glasses that we did need before using them. The air conditioning worked fine as far as cooling but it was so loud that you could barely sleep. And speaking of sleeping we didn’t do much of that anyway due to the people above us screaming and slamming things from 11pm till around 2:30 am (which I understand is not the owners fault but it was just the icing on the cake). Also there is an awful smell of mustiness throughout the entire unit but especially bad in the master. All in all our worst rental stay to date
