First off, this property is a bit dated and had no beach items like chairs umbrellas etc. you have to rent those. When we arrived, I found 3 of 4 patio chair hinges broken and unusable. When I asked about it via email, I received no response but the next morning the maintenance man dropped off 4 chairs from lowes. The biggest issue really is the the property management company does not communicate with you. It’s not that they don’t take care of issues but they don’t respond with an email or a call to acknowledge your contact. Towards end of trip we noticed kichen sink was leaking. The plumbing was a horrendous hodgepodge of piping by someone who didn’t know what they were doing including a joint wrapped in duct tape. They “fixed” the leak but the hodgepodge remains. The biggest concern was a foul odor that has been commented about in previous reviews. I personally emailed the property management people before we came and asked if it had been fixed. They said it was fine. It is NOT fine. It stinks like sewer. Having been a plumber, I immediately started looking for a dry trap or something or hypothesizing trap siphoning. After further research, it is definitely coming from the duct work. It needs a serious cleaning or it’s the A coil or maybe mold in the tray. I don’t know. At about 4 pm it was terrible. In cool part of morning you did not notice it much. Now is this a deal breaker? Maybe. If you have a sensitive nose……maybe. I noticed like if you owned dogs etc, you get a strong overwhelming whiff when you open the front door. But you acclimate to it pretty quickly as long as you don’t stand by the stove with the register right over your head. It is strongest there it seems. But to me I thing a really good duct cleaning/ac cleaning would solve this problem. If this was done, I would totally rent this place again. The pool is nice, back docks nice for sunrises, beach right across the street. Really fantastic. The rental management team left much to be desired. When I told them them about the smell after we checked in, they did not respond to my concern at all. This lack of transparency and communication was very unprofessional in my opinion. Our vacation was great as we did not spend too much time inside. Place is a winner if they seriously address and remediate the odor problem.
