Such a great place

Loved everything. Lovely Cabin with gorgeous views! The only way i wouldn't recommend this cabin is if you have someone who's confined to a wheel chair or has trouble with steps. There are alot of them! If you don't have those issues, its PERFECT!! Our family LOVED this cabin! We WILL rent again!

Stairway to heaven

We had a great stay, we seen a mama bear and her 2 cubs the night we got there they had gotten in the car, door left opened lucky nothing but paw prints lol, the cabin was nice but they need to change the carpet in the bedrooms and the rugs were pretty gross i wore sock the entire time overall great place great location!!

Gorgeous home!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Game room was lots of fun, and we were traveling with adult children, so having lots of bedrooms and bathrooms was great. We even saw bears! They left paw prints on our car windows twice, apparently looking for food, so be sure you don’t leave food in your car! As others have mentioned, there are 51 stairs to get to the front door, so be sure you are prepared for that. There is a nice grocery store about five minutes away where we bought coffee and breakfast items. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes and cookware, but there is no coffee or staples of any kind, so you’ll need to bring those. Also, make sure you deactivate the alarm immediately upon entering, because you have only a few seconds to do so. We were a moment too slow one evening, and the police showed up in short order, but at least they were friendly. We loved sitting on the porches and looking out over the beautiful mountains, enjoying the gorgeous views. We felt far away from everything, but it took only a few minutes to get into Gatlinburg and Great Smoky Mountain National Park, which was absolutely gorgeous. It was a very special place to stay.

Great place to stay

The cabin met all of our expectations and checked all of the boxes that we wanted in a cabin rental. Loved it inside and out. Only one hiccup on the trip was I didn’t get the door code the day of arrival. But eventually received it. Oh, if you want to see bears on your trip, the was the cabin for it. Saw them the moment we arrived. We will be back at this location in the future.

Beautiful cabin outside Gatlinburg

This cabin was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teen boys). The cabin was a short 5 min drive from downtown Gatlinburg. The boys took full advantage of cooling off from the blistering heat in the game room. We truly enjoyed our stay on this property.

Beautiful property. A LOT of stairs to get in. No advance notice that there was a security system and no security code given to us, EXTREMELY frustrating to start vacation will alarms and a visit from the police !!!!!!!!

If you don’t like steps this might not be the cabin for you, but once you reach the summit, those 52 steps are well worth the climb! Very clean/maintained cabin.

Get away from it all

This property was stunning and perfect for our family gathering. The ONLY downfall is the steps to get up to the cabin. It was a challenge for my elderly parents. Other than the stairs everything was wonderful. On the 1st night we had a bear on the second floor balcony looking in. That was kind of scary but really cool at the same time. We saw 11 bears around the cabin. We saw a momma and 4 cubs. The place was super clean. I would highly recommend this place for people with good knees lol.

Sights and game room

The property has amazing sights. It is beautiful at night and during the day to sit on the porch. The whole family had a blast in the game room. Highly recommend!

Could not have been happier

Wonderful property. Lots of privacy, but very conveniently located. The kids loved it all and really played a ton. Game room was amazing and we played lots of cards too. Spent late night tellimg stories in the hot tub. Bears showed up one morning making this stay perfect.

Family Time "Away From it All"

Great cabin for the family with fabulous views! And oh the wildlife...we saw bears every day and we got to see owls too! We were able to relax and enjoy the view from any of the three decks, we spent a lot of time out there when we were at the cabin. A great game room on the third floor - that was enjoyed by all. We did most of our meals there and were pleasantly surprised to see how well stocked the kitchen was with cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. I would give this a five star rating except for two of the beds that were uncomfortable and are in need of replacing and the very well worn living room furniture on the second floor that is not the most comfortable and is ready to be replaced. Other than that it is a fabulous cabin "away from it all".

The property has a little of everything for everybody. From views for individuals who want quiet, games for teenagers, bedrooms on different floors to give privacy and space. The cabin is only few minutes from the stripe and surrounded by nature and animals. Loved it!

Positives and Negatives

The property is really nice. Excellent living spaces, clean, smaller kitchen but certainly useable. Great bonus room on the third floor. Nice to have dish TV - major sports weekend and wanted to catch a key game, and did! The listing references 52 steps which is good. This is not a property where anyone who is elderly or has mobility issues would want to stay. It is a reasonable climb up many flights of stairs to get to the bottom level of the home, and then there are two staircases in the home. After a long day of hiking and walking, just know climbing will continue when you get home. Parking for 2-3 cars at most. Winter roads would be treacherous as heavy inclines to get to this location. No option for early check-in was offered. We arrived at 3:30pm and called the service line, and were told we would have to wait until 4:00pm to access the property. So, we stood around for 30 minutes. Don't bother arriving early. I was not wowed by the lack of flexibility. Check-in and check-out was easy and all done through the phone. The unit has 4 bathrooms - very nice for larger groups. Overall a good experience.

Relaxing Stay!

Property was beautiful, great location. We enjoyed seeing the bears that came into the yard daily. My only recommendation is that the beds could be replaced.

Great canin

Great cabin with everything you need just a lot of steps. Very beautiful and peaceful. We even saw a momma bear and cub walk down the road in front of the cabin while we were there! Great family cabin.

Incredible Bear Experience

We had a rough time getting comfortable during our stay at Away From It All. The second floor gets VERY hot and the bed is hard. Outside temps were cool during our stay. After night three we slept with the windows open and finally got some relief from the heat. We didn’t call about this because we noticed the bedroom didn’t have a vent or air return. It’s just a poor design flaw. The kitchen is also located on the second floor so we opted to eat out or use the crockpot to prevent turning the oven on and adding warmth. Other than that the cabin was wonderful. We greatly enjoyed the time spent in the game room, the hot tub and the back porches. The trek up the stairs was worth it. On our first night’s stay we had a Momma Bear & her three cubs wander up into the yard and spend about 45min with us. The cubs played, climbed trees and nursed. This encounter did make us more aware of our surroundings as we left and arrived at the cabin. Brush up on what to do in case of an encounter if you stay here. We were so excited about this once in a lifetime encounter. Highlight of our trip at “Away From It All” *Owners, we have pics and videos we’d love to get you if you’d like them.
