Graced with high ceilings and wide timber floorboards, it features two bedrooms (sleeps four), living and dining space warmed by a cosy wood fireplace, modern kitchen and bathroom, private covered terrace and rear level lawn with views to Mount Wellington.
The Space:
Evoking the ambience of a terrace house with a large bedroom occupying the upper level, it’s a space where you can relax huddled around the slow combustion fireplace in Winter on the comfy leather lounge, dine on the oak table or slip outside to an enormous private covered courtyard with table and seating where you can sit for brekky or a coffee and breathe in the fresh Tasmanian air. The timber-benched kitchen is equipped with a stove, Bialetti coffee machine and windows that open out like a servery to the courtyard.
There’s a bedroom with a double bed and display fireplace on the entry level and internal stairs leading from the living space to a large loft-style bedroom with a queen bed.
It comes complete with a stylish bathroom equipped with a timber vanity top, shower outside is the laundry with washing machine, dryer and fridge plus air conditioning in the living room. You can step outside and catch some sunny rays on the near level back yard while taking in stunning views of Mount Wellington with its peak occasionally iced with snow. There’s no car space attached to the property, however it’s easy to find all day parking in one of the surrounding side streets within super-short stroll of the residence.
Managed by a specialist Airbnb company, it is professionally cleaned after each guest vacated and all the sheets and bedding is maintained by a contract linen supplier.

The Neighborhood:
Set between the Hobart CBD and the Cascade Brewery and historic Cascade Female Factory, this idyllic location is an entity in itself where you can pop next door to the famous Hill Street Grocers and sample or take home some of Tasmania’s finest fresh produce, step across the road to the trendy Bear With Me Café or stroll to shopping, city buses and humming eateries within a couple of minutes.
The popular Rivulet Track is only a two minute stroll away where you can walk through parkland by the water (keep an eye out for the native Paddymelons) to Cascade Gardens, Cascade Brewery and the historic Cascade Female Factory as well as the attractions in the Hobart CBD within 20 minutes in either direction. If you’re not up for a walk, buses stop just metres from the doorstep running regularly to both destinations and it’s only a few minutes’ drive either way by car.
However you get to the Hobart CBD it’s always worth it. The relaxed and easy going pace is perfectly suited to cruising around, taking in the sights and getting amongst its evolving hospitality scene. Check out the numerous landmark buildings and boutique restaurants, Salamanca Markets and its cosmopolitan riverside cuisine and social scene as well as Constitution Docks and the ferry wharf to MONA.
Tasmania’s renowned wilderness areas literally hug the city and there’s no better, closer or spectacular place to experience it than Kunanyi (Mount Wellington) where the panoramic views over Hobart and the mighty Derwent River are truly breathtaking. There’s also a host of bayside towns down to the south that are well-worth checking out.
Elegant, modern and incredibly central, it’s the ideal space to savour the true taste of Hobart.
Getting Around:
Well located on a bus route, it is however worthwhile to have a vehicle so you fully explore the area and the attractions in and around Hobart
Other Things to Note:
The original staircase to the main bedroom is relatively steep, so will not suit guests with mobility issues.
There is a security camera at the front of the premises, this is for security, not to monitor guests
If you require a porta cot this is available on request at the time of booking.
Wood for the wood burner is provided during Winter only and on request prior to arrival.
There is no television at the property. The fridge and laundry are in the shed, which is a few meters from the house, under the covered terrace.
