3 men on musky fishing trip. Love everything about this cottage - location, amenities, well-maintained, clean, nice ambiance, etc. Great lake and fishing. We'll be back.

High Lake stay

Loved being on a beautiful body of water. Kayaking was great, swimming good, bike trails nearby. Comfortable, even in the rain.

Friends fishing trip

Property was everything described, clean, beautiful, pier on the lake, roomy. The owner was available for any questions. High lake is amazing for fishing and recreation. We had a wonderful time and looking forward to returning again.

Lake front retreat

This is a great cabin for families. There are no stairs to climb to get to the lake, and there is a sand beach. We loved the wonderful breeze that came through the cabin with open screens. We enjoyed swimming, and using our kayak’s in the lake. We would come here again.

This place has such a great view from the front room window..Just steps to your own dock..

Great communication with the owner. Easy check in and check out. The Beach house is right next to the play ground.. You can watch your kids from the windows.. But you also have the noise from other kids at times.. The place has an open concept.. Nice place..

Nice cabin with great views of the lake

This was a really nice cabin that was perfect for our family vacation. My only complaints are that the advertisement for the cabin says there are two queen beds. They are definitely not queen beds, but full beds. It also would have been nice if the listing mentioned that the beach right outside of the cabin was shared by other families in the area. For other issues we had (no toilet paper, dishwasher stopped working, and no vacuum cleaner) the property owner was very responsive and made sure the issues were taken care of.

Great family vacation

Cabin was clean and fit our family well. 3 adults & 2 teens. Kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of seating for all with living & kitchen area. Bedrooms were smaller but manageable. Fans in every room were a huge plus! You can hear everything going on in the cabin at night so the fans helped drown the noise out. The beds could be softer as we woke with sore backs but some people like harder mattresses. Great view of the lake from the cabin. Loved sitting on the pier and fishing from it. Only used the beach for launching paddle boat and kayak. Nice little area with picnic tables, playground & beach. That area is all shared. Spent lots of time out on the lake fishing and tubing. Overall we enjoyed everything! Would recommend cabin! Thanks for a great vacation ☺️

Great cabin and location - needs a few things

Love this place and the lake. I have a couple of suggestions. Owner need to be more responsive messages. He responds quickly, but does not provide clear and detailed answers, which requires even more messages. I also made one cell phone call from the house and did not get a response. Owner needs more details and instructions for items at the house - how to use the TV ( we never got it to work) and how to use the heat. Otherwise, place to clean and well organized and we love staying there.

Nice cabin in a great locations

Loved it! 3 guys on a fishing trip. Right next a boat landing in a very clean and comfortable cabin on the lake with a handy pier and beach. Cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The week of R&R…

Very nice property on a beautiful lake! Plenty of fish to catch on clear water with room to ski as well. The had more than enough room for the four of us. The cabin is away from town so it is quiet but close enough to quickly go to dinner or grab a few items. We had a great week!

Great for young children

We loved the sand area and shallow access to the lake as well as being able to use the kayak and canoe. We could see that some improvements are in progress at the cabin which are looking nice. The furniture could use an update as well but we had everything that we needed. It was great having a washer and dryer as well.

Annual summer vacation

Excellent location and sandy beach. Pleasantly surprised with updates made-online photos don’t do it justice. Main bathroom very nice. Double beds were smaller than expected. Kitchen could use some additional items if you plan on cooking and eating in. Overall clean but floor underneath the couches hasn’t been swept for awhile. Overall, a nice place that we would book again.

Very Enjoyable

Loved being on the water!! Lots of Loons and eagles to watch! Pan fishing good success. Close to Boulder Junction for necessities as needed. Owner responsive to questions. Would definitely stay here again!!

Great place

The location is perfect....we love High Lake and will probably come back! Kitchen was very well equipped with high quality cookware, but we only found a couple of knives. The bedrooms very small so the bed Is right against the wall....so just a bit uncomfortable for the person against the wall to get in/out over the second person. (Especially for retirees who may need to get up in the middle of the night!) Be sure to provide your own TP and other paper products! Only a partial roll of TP was there. On the whole a terrific place to relax, with lots of places for paddling, hiking and biking.

Nice but has issues !

I was writing in regards to your parking restrictions on trailers. I don’t check my emails until I get home so didn’t see your note. But we fish numerous lakes in the week we are at your cabin. We checked the lot up top and found no place to hook an electrical cord to charge our batteries. If you had electric we would have loved to park the boat and trailer up there. We were very respectful and never had the trailer in anyone’s way. Most of the time it was never there because we were at another lake. Also I have somethings to discuss with you. I don’t know if a management company runs your property or not but thought I would share with you first. The toilet would not flush properly when we got there so we fixed it so it would. The shower head fell off on my daughters foot, we fixed that so we could shower. And also the paint on the shower ceiling is falling off. Most of the window knobs fall off while trying to open and close the windows. There are also exposed staples on the floor of the south bedroom. Stuck into our feet until we figured out what is was and threw a rug over it. We have been coming up to your area for over 30 years, rented other cabins and have never ever had to take care of our own trash! All that said, cabin and the view were nice. Just wanted you to know all this in case a management company is suppose to be taking care of your place. Thank you,

Wonderful!

As a child, my family and I vacationed to High Lake every year. It was so great to get back up there with my husband and little ones. The property was so wonderful!! Love the views out the front windows. Perfect spot for the kids with beach and play area right outside. Loved it!!

Great Paddling Lake - Lots Of Eagles

We had a great time during our week-long visit in late June. The description and photos for the listing are right on the money. Communication with the owner was great and check-in / check-out was super easy. We had no issues with the cabin and the entire process went very smoothly. Temperature during our stay was mid 70s and very pleasant. The water was cool, but tolerable. High Lake is a great paddling lake. We used our gear as well as the items provided with the cabin. There are islands to paddle to and the undeveloped part of the lake is very scenic. There were numerous bald eagles present along with the loons. Boat traffic was not bad at all. Boulder Junction is a great town and Northern Highland Sports on Main Street was our go-to location for fishing tackle and bait. The Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail is one of the best we’ve experienced. It is extremely scenic, clean, paved, and very well maintained. We had researched the trail before heading up but the online and printed material did not compare to how good it actually was. Overall, this was a great stay and we would definitely consider staying here again if the opportunity arises.
