Mar de la Vida, situata in una gated community, è perfetta per una fuga romantica o una fuga dallo stress della vita quotidiana. La nostra splendida casita completamente arredata con 1 camera da letto include alti soffitti a volta, aria condizionata, acqua calda su richiesta, wifi, barbecue, tostapane e servizio di pulizia due volte alla settimana. A pochi passi da Playa Marsella, ideale per nuotare e la famosa spiaggia per il surf, Playa Maderas è solo una breve corsa in navetta! Svegliati al suono delle scimmie urlatrici e goditi il tuo caffè mattutino sul ponte coperto avvolto dalla natura! È la tua vacanza, il barbecue a casa o visita i ristoranti locali raggiungibili a piedi, e poi passeggia fino alla spiaggia e guarda lo splendido tramonto!

Se questo è il tuo primo viaggio nell'area di San Juan del Sur, tieni presente che è ultra casual, quindi le donne lasciano i tacchi alti, i vestiti eleganti e i gioielli a casa. Invece porta la tua crema solare, scarpe comode, cappelli da sole e abiti da sole.

Ci sono così tante cose da fare oltre alle attività in spiaggia. Entra in città ed esplora perché è pieno di colore, cultura e gente calda e amichevole. Mettiti alla prova con la cerniera lampo, ammira le meravigliose viste dalla statua di Gesù, guarda le tartarughe che vengono liberate nell'oceano, fai gite di un giorno nella città coloniale di Granada e il Volcan Masaya o visita la Laguna de Apoya, un lago che formata al centro di un vulcano spento.

Alla ricerca di un'esperienza unica, salta sul "bus di pollo" locale e avventurati nella piazza del mercato di Rivas, oppure trascorri qualche ora al mercato nazionale degli artigiani di Masaya facendo shopping per quel souvenir speciale; un'amaca, un dipinto, una ceramica o una scultura in legno esotico da portare a casa.

Se stai considerando una destinazione un po 'più fuori dai sentieri battuti, allora consiglio vivamente il Nicaragua. È molto simile al Costa Rica 20 anni fa.

Excellent place to stay near San Juan. Very quiet and safe, owner and property manager make sure that everything you need is taken care of and that your stay goes well. They gave us excellent recommendations on where to eat and for activities. Fully equipped kitchen, we made some great meals while there and really enjoyed our stay, they have all the amenities you need. The restaurant at playa marsella was excellent as well and the beach is nice and quiet if you wanna get away from the crowd.

Beautiful casita near Playa Marcella

We stayed here for four nights to kick off a month in Nicaragua. This was the nicest place of our stay so far (three weeks in). The casita is lovely and very well appointed. There are plenty of dishes and everything you would need if you decide to cook. A very easy walk to Playa Marcella if you prefer to eat out. It is possible to walk to Playa Maderas but if you have any mobility issues you would likely want to hire a car or rent a motorcycle.

Coffee with the monkeys

Is a lovely house. Comfortable. All that you need. We loved the surroundings, quiet, nearness to the beach. We found a small grocery store within walking distance. A few restaurants. Friendly locals and expats. Owner and Manager were always available with any assistance. I would certainly stay there again.

Piece of paradise

The monkeys did not disappoint! This place is a great secluded spot and is very private and relaxing - just sit and listen to the birds and monkeys Walk to playa marsella is an easy 5-10 minute walk and we had the whole beach to ourselves most days. The restaurants at far end of the beach make great food- Islote has the best chicken fingers and rancho marsella makes great tacos.Any question we had about the house or the area was quickly answered by the owner Corinne, who was great to deal with. Definitely would stay here again and highly recommend. 10/10

La Perla was the most amazing stay. We booked it originally for 13 nights for our honeymoon, but ended up needing to change it to only 8 nights. Corinne was very helpful and communicative through that process. As for the casita, it’s beautiful beyond belief. It sits off of the central neighborhood lane on its own little dead end. The indoor space has nice high ceilings and everything we needed- cookware, coffee maker, hot showers, shopping bags, beach towels, and the outdoor space was extensive with three patios, one of which is fully netted against flies and mosquitoes. We spent almost every day of our stay at Playa Marsella, which is truly a five minute walk from the door. Corinne made our stay so special. She answered all our questions beforehand and checked in with us about the house after we arrived. The neighborhood is dirt roads, and we managed it in a sedan, but we would choose a truck or motorcycles instead! We stayed January 1st through the 9th, and had sunny skies and warm swimming every day. Thank you for an unforgettable and relaxing honeymoon!

Second stay was even better

Last year we started our trip to Nicaragua with four days in this beautiful house. This year we finished our trip with eight days here.This year we rented a motorcycle so we were able to easily get groceries, which allowed us to make good use of the very well appointed kitchen. The hot water throughout the house is unusual in Nicaragua. It was very nice for washing dishes as well as ourselves. There is also a washing machine and dryer.The location is terrific for exploring several beaches in the area and for supply runs to San Juan del Sur.One afternoon we had at least 50 howler monkeys pass thriugh the trees right by the house. What an experience!We would highly recommend this property. Both the owner and the manager are very quick to respond to any concerns.

Charming Casita

We were very happy with our choice of staying in this charming casita. There is a canopy of trees that keeps the place cool. From time to time you will here the howler monkeys. It is only a five or ten minute walk to this wonderful secluded beach. We felt very safe and they have a person who walks around the compound at night. The only downside is the dirt road to get here has a lot of potholes. But that seems to be the case for most roads around here. We ended up renting a motorcycle which made things a lot easier. The property manager is wonderful and helped us in many ways get settled in. We will definitely stay here again.

The green season brings out breathtaking displays of tropical scenery: trees are greener and the flowers are in full bloom. It also brings challenges, the worst being navigating the dirt roads, which will get grated once the rains stop. What a place to get away from it all!

La Perla was amazing and we plan on returning in September to hopefully purchase in the same area. Corinne was amazing l, stayed in touch with great tips about the area and the house. Denise, the property manager, was attentive and helped us with the few things we asked for, Jackie, the housekeeper, was amazing and unobtrusive, and the maintenance crews were unobtrusive and kept the are tip top. The space has all you could need to have a great vacation. New outdoor grill, gas range inside, inside (not really needed) and an OUTDOOR shower that was refreshing and had two hammock next to it to dry off on! If it is not the rainy season a small car is possible. I would however recommend a small SUV 4X4 so you can explore properly and get the most out of the property. The beach is soooo close and you can go left or right out of the back gate. And the roads will lead you to the beach in 5 minutes. There is a new supermarket close by and the old er one is across the Main Street. Both have their positives. Meat market is directly across from the old supermarket and is awesome. Lastly, th me beach is a tranquil and local place with great places to catch a sunset, some ceviche and a cold beer with El Islote becoming our favorite! Thanks, Corinne for everything!

Beautiful casita close to the ocean.

My wife and I spent two wonderful weeks at Mar de la vida, wish we could have spent the rest of our vacation there. Corinne is amazing, she checked on us to see if there was anything we needed. The house is very nice, it has just about everything you would need, even a bbq grill on the wrap around porch. There was even beach towels to use and bug spray if you forgot to pack any. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. We sat on the porch drinking our morning coffee watching the howler monkeys playing in the trees. Corine, had the property manager Denise take us out to the house and explained everything, she is great. Jennifer, cleaned the house twice a week and did an excellent job, it was always spotless. There was also a grounds keeper that came around several times a week, which did a great job. The beach is just a couple minutes walk from the house. Most of the time we had the beach to ourselves. There is also two other beaches close by the house that are very nice. A truck came by twice a week, so you could buy your groceries ( fruits, vegetables, eggs and chicken). Everything on the truck is fresh and priced better than the store in San Juan. I would recommend renting a car, but there is a bus that goes by the front gate that will take you into town. There is also security at the two gates coming into the property. The security guys walked the property at night as well. We always felt safe the whole time while we were there. We were not disappointed at all and were glad we found this property to stay at.

Superbe endroit

Cette maison est tout simplement parfaite pour un couple! Sinon, la famille dort sur un divan lit! La communication avec la propriétaire est facile et rapide! Les seuls bémols sont la plage (très ordinaire) et l'éloignement! Besoin d'un moyen de transport pour faire l'epicerie.. Quand même un chicken bus pour se rendre à la ville

Amazing time at Mar de La Vida

I spent almost three months with my family in Mar de La Vida. I was here with my wife and three year old son. We are from Poland. It was an amazing time. The house we stayed in exceeded our expectations. The cottage is situated in a wonderful area not far from San Juan del Sur. It is about 10 minutes from the estate where we lived. San Juan del Sur has a large market and plenty of restaurants. But you didn't have to go to town to eat well. Within 1 km from the house there are several restaurants where you can eat really good food that is not expensive. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the beach by the ocean from the house. The view is amazing. The house itself is well equipped. There is literally everything. Even a large grill. There is a washing machine and a clothes dryer in the house. On the terrace there is a hammock and comfortable rocking chairs. We were constantly in touch with the owner of the facility and the property manager. It made us feel very well served. I heartily recommend this house. We will remember you very well.

Magical

I stayed here with my two children, 12 and 13. We had the best time. The neighborhood the house is in has a private rancho on Marsella beach which is lovely. They even have power outlets! The house itself is very well designed and well stocked. We did wish for a thing. The things we loved best about our stay was the wildlife at our door. The neighborhood is in the middle of an estuary so bird watching from the porch is a joy. And we were visited my monkeys most morning which was the hope. I looking forward to booking this again for our next trip!

A lovely property. Well thought out with an attractive yard.

We had a great week here. You might want to consider renting a car as it feels pretty remote. We felt secure. Beaches were excellent. Great scenery.

Beautiful Casa with a Georgeous View!

Stayed here for 2.5/weeks while exploring San Juan Del Sur and learning to Surf in Nicaragua. Pretty damn rad if you ask me. Corrine, Denise, and Carmen were awesome (The latter two are from the property management company and did a fantastic job as local point-of-contact during my stay). Would highly recommend to anyone looking to surf or exploring the beauties of this country.

Beautiful casita in a quiet and relaxing location near the beach

The casita has everything and more, and it is very clean. Jenifer did a wonderful job cleaning twice a week and her brother keeping the beautiful garden in order. We loved the large patio with ample seating options, it was nice to sit there to eat, have tea or coffee in the morning, relax in the sun during the day or in the shade in the evening. We saw many howler monkeys in the trees surrounding the casita and we even saw a 2 toed sloth in a tree by the north gate. Playa Marsella is a short walk, maybe 5 minutes, from the casita and is a gorgeous, quiet beach with a couple restaurants. Playa Maderas is a popular surfing beach with a few restaurants that is located a short drive north from the casita. San Juan del Sur is also a short drive away and has many restaurants and activities available. We went on the Tutti di Mare sailboat with Captain Mario in San Juan del Sur which included a trip to a beautiful private beach called Playa Blanca and we saw dolphins on the way back with the sunset. There are also day trips you can take from the area and one day we went to Ometepe island and hiked Volcano Madera, which was very difficult but a good experience. Overall we loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be away from it all but still has the option of restaurants and activities nearby.

Loved it!

Stayed here for a month and used this as a base while travelling to other areas for short trips. It was always nice to return "home"! Peaceful and quiet, well maintained and equipped. Corinne is an exceptional owner, always in contact and checking in. Jennifer came twice a week and was an amazing housekeeper. Caught the shuttles from Selinas ( 10 min walk ) to San Juan Del Sur. Found they were always on time. Returned from town (Casa Oro Hostal) to Selinas. Used the fruit/veggie truck, also has chicken and eggs several times. Comes by the gate Tuesday and Fridays around 830 am. Found the prices even less expensive than the market in town. The Selinas Hotel and Mango Rosa Resort are happy to let you use their pools at no charge but appreciate you having drinks or lunch. Can stay all day if you like. Overall Mar De La Vida exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it!

Hi Shannon thanks for your informative review. It’s nice that you and your daughter took time and explored other parts of Nicaragua, every town has its own unique qualities! Future guests without a vehicle will appreciate your shuttle and “barker truck” tips. Also, being able to access a local hotel pool is a great option when the weather is not co-operating for any beach activity. Cozy, clean, and yes - MONKEYS! :)

My wife, daughter, and I stayed here last week for 3 days & 4 nights. On the first morning we got to experience the monkeys using the trees above & around the house as a highway. It was quite an experience for 3 American Midwesterners! - The short walk to the beach was nice, and so was being back in the woods a bit. The house itself and the grounds around it are kept exceptionally clean by the property managers. - I'm a coffee roaster from the US, so the one thing I was left longing for that I didn't bring (my own fault) was a coffee grinder. :) - Thank you, Corinne, for opening up this wonderful little house to others! Would definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay at Mar De la Vida

Great little casita and location for a couple that wants to enjoy nature, beautiful sunset walks on an uncrowded beach and still be close to town. The house is well maintained and is very private yet allows you to meet many other locals or expats if you desire due to the close proximity to Playa Marsella. Enjoyed our stay immensley.

Peaceful, clean private

Clean, well appointed, well situated to beach and for privacy are just a few of the words to describe this beautiful casita. The maintenance staff and the "gate guys" were friendly, genuine and efficient. Communication with Corinne was nice as she wanted to ensure our arrival was safe and if there was anything we needed. A perfect place to spend our dream vacation and I would def recommend to anyone thinking of coming here.

The Perfect Getaway!

Everything from the location to the accommodations were on point for us. We were able to easily pick up our keys from the management company and they had us follow them to the property where they walked us through the house. The pictures do not do this place justice. Everything was super clean and comfortable. The security team were welcoming and friendly and made us feel very safe. The drive to San Juan Del Sur is about 7 mins and the walk to the beach was only about 6 mins It's such a beautiful walk as we got to see howler monkeys, crabs and so many different types of beautiful birds. There are a few options of restaurants down on the beach and are a great spot to watch the sunrise/sunset. We cooked every night in the bungalow, so I can not share how the food is there. You are given an electricity credit for each day. We were able to stay below the credit as we only used the A/C at night when we were at the house. Every Wednesday the city turns turn off the power from 9-5 but that didn't bother us because we were already of out of the house exploring the beaches. There was a storm one night which turned off the power for about 7 hours during the night but we survived :) We will be back for sure!!

Beautiful place, fell in love with Nicaragua!

Had a fantastic week in Nicaragua!! Mar de la vida was a beautiful intimate Casita with a great location...walking distance to a beach, restaurants and to shuttles going into town. While I was there I rented an Atv from San Jan del sur and had a great time exploring all the other beaches and sites around. It was so nice to have a place that felt like home to cook meals and enjoy some relax time on the porch or have a few afternoon siestas in the hammock. Great place!

What an amazing experience, will be back for sure!

My daughter and I spent 2 weeks at Mar de la Vida and had a wonderful trip! It was great to explore the town of SJDS but appreciated the quiet and natural beauty at the casita. We were thrilled to see the howler monkeys in the trees above us! We loved our daily walk to Playa Marsella and spent lots of time swimming and suntanning on the beach. My daughter was excited to have a surfing lesson at nearby Playa Maderas.
