Everything was great looking, but the 3 pain points were the clothes dryer had trouble drying and required many cycles, there was a musty odor upon check-in that didn’t quite disappear after maintenance arrived on check-in day and cleared the A/C intake, and the main shelf inside the fridge was broken and unusable our whole stay. Loved the location and amenities as we’re repeat visitors to the Villamare community because of them.

The property was nice and the condo complex was one of the best I’ve stayed in Hilton Head. The condo itself could definitely use some updating though. It’s nice overall, but you can definitely tell where wear and tear is happening. The size of the place is great. It was honestly more than we needed, but we appreciate having two large bedrooms for our family. The view was good and you could barely see the beach, but can easily hear the ceasing of the waves. However, the condo felt damp the entire time we were there, granted it rained off and on while we were there, but it was a bit annoying to have the couches, chairs, and beds feel damp when you sat. The ceilings showed what looked to be surface mold in my opinion. Especially in the kitchen and master shower. We wonder if it was due to the dampness that we dealt with and if it were a continual issue that the place had. The master shower was locked to one temperature, and would not budge no matter how hard we tried to get it to turn down. The temperature was just on the threshold of too hot, but we were quick to finish before getting too hot. In all we really liked the area, but felt the condo’s price was a bit on the higher side. For the premium we paid, we wished the place would have been without the issues we had.

First stay at Villamere.

We had a wonderful stay. We lived the unit, its decor and amenities. The only draw back was the maintenance that was being done on the stairwells and elevator. And a project right outside our windows. Other than that it was wonderful!

Nice condo

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. The location was great. It was our first time staying in Villamare. We enjoyed the close proximity to the ocean. The kitchen was missing some necessary items but we managed. Also the beds need updating. I had read that from a previous review and had hoped it had been done but it hasn’t. Overall it was a nice stay and we would probably stay there again.

We have stayed there many times think it is best locationLast time we mentioned mat in tub…very slick…we had to go out and purchase one. Shower in master very hard to turn on and no adjustment.no light in oven. Worst part was trash truck coming so often and early and all painting and power tools! Saw a lot of pool wagons and beach items in hallways….infant in adult pool and several “barking “ dogs also.we still love this unit……

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your recent visit to Hilton Head and greatly appreciate the feedback you have provided. Palmetto Dunes is a great plantation on the island with the beach so close to many locations. As for the remarks about this villa and complex, we have passed this information along to the property manager for consideration for future rentals. We hope you plan to visit the island again in the near future as we would be more than happy to assist with any rental needs you may have. - Vacation Company

Great location and setup in HHI.

This villa is conveniently located inside Palmetto Dunes. It's close to pretty much everything in the area with a short drive out from the private premise. This unit is thoughtfully decorated to give you the beach vibe and we really liked that the sinks were on their own, separate from outside of the bathroom/shower. It was easy for our family to get ready this way. Plenty of space, short walk to the pool and the beach! The Villamare property is also nicely kept and another nice touch was the rinsing station to the entrance/exit walkway of the beach. This is super helpful. Small things like a loading cart available to bring everything up to your unit goes a long way! The only thing I would say is maybe the stove top may need some upgrade in this unit. Takes a while to heat up, but not a big deal at all. The (master) balcony as others have stated is partial ocean view and some of it is blocked by the grilling area trees. Again, just a note and completely fine and still a nice view! We would definitely look into staying here again without any hesitation. We had great weather (2nd week of August) even with some storms in the area. To top it off, on our first night, relaxing in the jacuzzi, caught a meteor shower (happen to be peak night for the annual Perseids shower). What a great start to our stay!! We fully enjoyed our first trip to HHI and really glad we ended up booking this unit/Villa! I'm sure we will be back again!

Overall, we had a good stay at Villamare and really enjoyed the property itself. The location is fantastic—just steps from the beach—and we loved having access to the pools and the beautiful grounds. The vacation rental company was also excellent to work with. Their communication was prompt, and they did their best to address the concerns we brought to their attention.Unfortunately, the condo itself did not meet our expectations. The mattresses were outdated and made for uncomfortable sleep throughout our stay. The kitchen also needs some attention: the dishwasher rack was broken, the kitchen faucet was loose, the stove smoked every time it was turned on, and the cookware would slide on the stovetop. We also noticed visible signs of mold around the AC vent and found that there were no hangers in the closets, which was an inconvenience. Additionally, the adults-only pool could have been cleaner during our visit. With some updates and maintenance—especially replacing the mattresses, addressing the kitchen issues, and cleaning and repairing the AC vent—this condo could provide a much better guest experience. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our vacation thanks to the wonderful property, beach access, and responsive management company.

Great Visit to HHI!

We had a really nice stay at this property at Palmetto Dunes (Unit 1210). We loved the view from the balcony, beds were comfortable, place was updated nicely, and kitchen was also stocked with what we needed for the week. We loved that we got a credit for VayK to spend on bikes for the week. The pool and hot tub at Villamare were a great alternative to the beach — our kids loved going between both! Our biggest concern with the unit we stayed in was the water spot above the master bath shower (I am very sensitive to mold), the front load washer (moldy rubber ring on inside of washing machine), and on one of the queen beds we noticed huge urine stain on the mattress when we took sheets off at the end of our stay. We wonder if the bed could be cleaned and then waterproof mattress pads can be provided for when families have little kids? Maybe also provide an AirDoctor to combat any viruses, mold, etc. in the space and provide “cleaner” indoor air. Overall, we had a great visit and will definitely be back to visit Villamare again!
