There are sensors on the doors and windows, and if they are open even slightly, the A/C will turn off. We also apologize that you had difficulty contacting us. Our records show that we did not receive any texts from you at the phone number provided through VRBO. We do see that you sent a message through VRBO, which was answered by our reservations liaison. However, we also found that two messages from our team included an incorrect phone number, and we sincerely apologize for this human error. We understand how frustrating this must have been, particularly while dealing with a canceled flight during Lala. We're glad you enjoyed the property, views, and pools, and we will use this as a training opportunity for our team. During your stay, there were 7 units affected by a faulty a/c compressor, which the Honua Kai engineering team worked with dedication to repair. We apologize that these efforts created further inconvenience and discomfort for you and your family. While we did provide you with a complimentary 2-day pool cabana and a substantial refund on your rent, we are very sorry to hear that you ultimately did not enjoy your stay. The a/c in Konea 550 is now fully functioning and cooling all rooms of the unit. As you understand, a VRBO rental is different than a hotel and does not afford the same flexibility of movement as with a hotel stay. It looks like you were with us during spring break, which was particularly busy this year and we apologize for the frustration you experienced with the slow elevator and limited parking. If the underground parking garage is full, guests are welcome to park in any unmarked spot on the resort parkway, or in the self-park lot across from the Hokulani Tower. The Honua Kai intends to reinstate their valet services soon. The bell staff at the resort are happy to assist with groceries should a guest pull their vehicle up to the front entrance. Unfortunately, they do not offer their carts to guests regardless of with whom they booked for liability and sanitation reasons. We are also sorry to hear you were unable to get poolside service from Duke’s. They have been rebuilding their staff since the shut down and we’re sorry for your disappointment with their service. The beach directly in front of the resort has some natural rock and coral and is great for snorkeling. To the left of the resort there is sandy, easy access to the water and it’s better for swimming and other beach activities. Thank you again for your comments. We hope to see you again.
