Ampio monolocale con vista panoramica sul Canale Gastineau, sul Rifugio Faunistico Mendenhall e sul Ghiacciaio Mendenhall. Ponte sul lungomare privato e ingresso.

Nido dell'Aquila calva a meno di 100 iarde. Ottimo per il birdwatching. Splendidi tramonti, in una "cintura asciutta", quindi otteniamo la metà delle precipitazioni del centro di Juneau. Tranquillo con pochissimo traffico.

Angolo cottura completamente attrezzato che comprende stoviglie, posate, pentole e padelle, macchina per il caffè, tostapane, piano cottura, microonde a convezione, frigorifero full size con macchina per il ghiaccio, lavandino, lavasciuga. TV satellitare, connessione Wi-Fi gratuita. Sala da pranzo abbastanza grande da ospitare 4 persone, zona salotto. Memorable Stay with Stunning Scenery

Lovely stay in Juneau. Clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with beautiful views. The apartment had so many thoughtful touches, it felt like a home away from home. Perfect for exploring Juneau. Hosts were wonderful: kind, helpful, communicative. Highly recommend!

Great Stay on North Douglas Island

The apartment was great, the location is wonderful for bird watchers (lots of sea birds and bald eagles). The location is a 10-15 minute drive to most anywhere in Juneau. It is nice and quiet at this VRBO. The hosts were helpful in sharing their considerable knowledge of the area.

Perfect spot for couples exploring Juneau area

Highly recommend this well equipped, comfortable, clean property in an excellent setting!! The view was simply stunning. The hosts were very easy to deal with. Apartment was well stocked with every need anticipated and there weren’t extensive check out instructions. Very happy renter!

Perfect Choice in Juneau

We loved North Douglas Island with amazing views of the channel and Mendenhall glacier. Hosts Mark and Betty were great hosts. We'd definitely stay again. So nice to be away from the busy cruise ship traffic.

Fantastic experience

Mark and Betty were very communicative, reaching out before my arrival with check in instructions. The rental was clean and well equipped and the view was second to none. Will definitely be renting again when I return to Juneau.

Vacation within a vacation

Every time we returned from town to on the wildlife refuge was like starting another vacation. So peaceful and beautiful. Our every need was met in this rental and the host went beyond expectations by providing starter groceries. We went to all parts of Juneau and can confirm that this location is very special- even the weather was better!

Property was perfect.

We had a wonderful visit. Views from the property were great. So many eagles everywhere. Short drive (8 min) to downtown. Lots of places to sight see and eat nearby. Perfect.

A bit of paradise all to yourself!

Could not have had a more perfect and beautiful place to experience Alaska! To be nestled in a nature preserve, away from the craziness of the cruise ships was wonderful! Our hosts were gracious and informative and really helped us see Juneau without being obtrusive. You need to stay here!!

Spectacular view!

There were so many wonderful things about this property: very large bathroom, 2 closets, kitchen with everything you need, comfortable bed, very clean, quiet, outdoor space and the list goes on. However, the ever changing view was something we never tired of. We hope to stay again next time we are in Juneau. Thank you Betty and Mark

Cute and clean

We enjoyed our stay here. Good views and a nice quiet area without being too far from town. There was a bit of noise from the main house but nothing unreasonable. Hosts gave us the privacy we wanted.

Amazing Alaska adventure

This property has everything you could ask for and the nicest hosts possible! The apartment is extremely comfortable, clean, and well appointed. Having a kitchen made a quick dinner nice and easy after a long day of hiking and site seeing. A laundry room was super useful. The location is fantastic with beautiful views of the glacier and the Gatineau channel. I’m so glad we stayed here!

Trip of a Lifetime

Beautiful property located on on the Gastineau Channel with views of Mendenhall Glacier, jumping salmon, bubbling humpback, and Bald Eagles. Betty and her husband have lived on Douglas Island for over 30 years, they provided a wealth of knowledge about the area that made the trip very authentic..we lived like natives for 8 days. I highly recommend this place, trip of a lifetime!

Totally recommend!

This place is such a gem! It’s in a quiet spot w/ a beautiful view! We went during off season which was great since there weren’t many tourists from the cruise ships flooding the streets. Betty and Mark were great hosts. They engaged as much as we wanted and talking to them felt as if we were old friends. The fridge and cupboard was stocked w/ a few goodies for us, it was such a sweet gesture. I’d book it again if I’m ever back in the area. Just go for it and book it!

Peaceful getaway

Mark and Betty are very easy to work. The place is well stocked. Very comfortable. Views off deck are amazing. Great to get away from all the cruisers and enjoy nature. At first was concerned about airport just across the channel but it was not loud and it was fun to watch all the planes go in and out. Saw up to 11 bald eagles in the channel. Really enjoyed the area. Would definitely recommend this rental to other couples visiting the Juneau area.

Great stay in Juneau area

Betty and Mark's property is wonderful....perfect for a couple. It's very comfortable, has a large bathroom with his/her sinks, good kitchen with a full size fridge. We cooked several meals during our stay. Communication was great and Betty let us know when the property was ready which enabled us to check in a couple of hours early. They had lots of great information on hand about the area and things to do. Their location on the channel afforded us wonderful wildlife watching, especially bald and golden eagles. They're located on the north end of Douglas island, about 15 minutes or so from downtown Juneau, so you definitely need a car which was not a problem for us as we rented one to fully explore the area. Would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Juneau. Thanks for a great stay!

Best view EVER!

We loved our stay! Betty & Mark were sweet and made sure we had everything needed. The apartment was very clean and in a nice neighborhood. Our favorite part was the view!! We watched eagles everyday and you can see the Mendenhall glacier as well.

Incredible location, magnificent view, extraordinary hospitality

If you haven’t already booked your stay in Juneau area book it here soon. This place is the most peaceful place with a constant changing gorgeous view. Close to hiking, waterfront, beautiful neighborhood, everything you need or want and wonderful hosts. Book it!

Host: Betty and Mark Johnson

My husband, Mark, and I are retired but we love to travel, fish, hike and do a lot of volunteer work in the community. We are custodial grandparents of two grands, aged 12 & 10, who lost their parents.

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

Mark grew up in Illinois and I grew up in Idaho but both ended up in Juneau, Alaska. We spent 3 years looking for a home and when we found this one we loved it so much we bought it the same day. We believe we have one of the best places in the world to live, and we've seen a lot of the world. The location is beautiful, peaceful, beautiful views and a lot of birds and wildlife. We are 8 miles from downtown hustle and bustle so after a long day of touring you can come back to your home away from home and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The air and water are clean, you can sit outside and enjoy the quiet. The views are beautiful and because of the daily tides the view changes constantly. Close to everything but a million miles from the world.
