I take no pleasure giving two stars, but want to be honest. Prior reviews/photos did not prepare us for what we found. I hope our issues will be corrected for future guests. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday with "chosen family" from Germany. Location was great; the ocean view phenomenal. Photos had prepared us for dated decor; we were okay with that. We were NOT prepared for a house at this level of neglect: sliding doors that don't close, deck with rotting boards, rust. Countertops, dishes, linens were clean, but house needed a deep clean: dusty glassware in wet bar, cobwebs/dirt in kitchen pantry & utility closet, rusting kitchen trash bin & plant stand. I removed cobwebs and daddy-longlegs spiders in master suite. Evidence of previous water damage on some floors. Drip coffeemaker leaked water. A twin bed had a damaged metal leg, but held up during our stay. We could not leave food on the counter or swarms of ants would attack right away, We refrigerated all we could & stored the rest in ziplock bags & kept a clean kitchen. Found a mouse in the kitchen; owner brought traps & we caught it. (Think it came in thru slider that would not close.) We complained about flaking rust on deck dining chairs; owner replaced them for us.:) On our next-to-last night, refrigerator died & was still leaking water the day we checked out. Owner did give a small reimbursement for spoiled food. We expected a house in good condition; finding it otherwise was such a disappointment.

I want to say, I went above and beyond to help the guests with the complaints and some of these are not accurate. When they complained the day after check-in about a few plants that had died, we offered a full refund and they refused. On check-out, said if I didn't refund half, after using the full rented dates, they would post a bad review- I drove topick up and deliver ice after hours to save their food due to the refrigerator. Then refunded some money for food and loss of the refrigerator. After ordering a new fridge, it turns out that the original had nothing wrong with it. It was unplugged and plugged back in, and started making ice again and working perfectly. I replaced 4 of the outdoor chairs, and they complained they wanted 6, which they already had with two already there. I gave 2 more chairs They rented for 4 adults and 2 children, one dog. There were more people and 2 dogs.am not sure why the guest claims that the sliding doors don't close completely, as they do. The deck has been covered with plywood, and does not present a danger of falling into it and is covered with outdoor rugs. I had a long stay of another guest who had a wonderful stay reported to me, and booked for next year. I was unaware of the twin bed leg until the check-out when it was mentioned. We have replaced the bed frame noted. No leaking coffee maker, maybe user error. The Cuisinart coffee maker is a month new and does not leak. There is also a single serving coffee maker provided.

The host Chris was very responsive. The view was amazing. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved that there was a real fireplace that we could burn wood especially during a storm and at Christmas.

It was a privilege to get to stay in such a wonderful place. The first night, I sat outside just listening to the surf below. We had 3 couples, 1 other adult and 2 toddlers. We entertained a dozen others in the spacious living room and the large terrace overlooking the Pacific. The hot tub was fun and one of us used the surf board that came with the house.

What a view

The home has a beautiful cliff view of the ocean and we were entertained by watching the surfers. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy and in low 60's and the ocean even colder, so the hot tub came in very handy. However, we still enjoyed our time. Would definitely stay again.

As you can see, I love the beach and the ocean, travelling in addition to warm weather! I am a booking agent for other properties in the area, and specialize in oceanfront, primarily in Encinitas, and also the owner of this property at 866 Neptune Ave. We invest in properties from here in California, Hawaii and Costa Rica. Perché ha scelto questa struttura

I fell in love with North Coast San Diego, especially between Del Mar, Carlsbad, Oceanside. I originally moved to San Diego from Orange County, CA where I worked in the hotel industry for some years. Eventually, I started booking not only my property, but found other owners here that wanted some help. The business took off, started in the year 2000! We originally bought this property as an investment and rented it out long term, but found that the vacation rental business was better and easier to care for the property as well as to have use of it ourselves. This location is incredible, so central to San Diego and Orange County- and an easy drive to Los Angeles when the occasion is required. You can get to so many places in a reasonable amount of time from the beautiful North Coast of San Diego.

The floorplan of this house is amazing for families to get together and has 50 linear feet over the oceanfront for the most amazing views all day and night- the evening sunsets are fabulous! It is so relaxing to be able to kick your shoes off, pour yourself a glass of wine or fresh ice tea, make yourself some lunch (or order locally), and watch everything happening from the convenience of your private patio. Lines of pelicans fly overhead or dive into the surf before you. Watch for the dolphins in the waves along side the surfers! No need to go out to brunch in an oceanfront restaurant when you are sitting front row over the waves, you are already there! Safe and secure, very private, and anywhere you want to go, it is probably found within 2 minutes to an hour. We take our fur baby Ace for walks along the one-way neighborhood street of Neptune into Encinitas, or just a block over to Coast Highway where we find great dining at the local restaurants. Or, we might just have our dinner oceanfront with the gentle breezes! The dining table and slate patio table are large for family and guests, and if it is cool outside, we 'dine in' watching and listening to the waves! A huge fireplace for cozy nights too! We love it, and so do all of our many guests. For those who like to cook, the kitchen has everything for your use, stainless appliances, a double electric oven, and large gas range. For beach goers, supplies are provided; boogie boards, umbrella, a few wetsuits, beach chairs etc. For grilling on the BBQ, relax and sit looking over the oceanfront while you grill your favorite family dinners, it's wonderful!!!
