This was a great stay for my family and I as well as our dog to attend a family wedding just up the block. The host was extremely communicative, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire stay and if we’re ever in the area again, we certainly hope to stay again!

What a quaint place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. We were in town for a wedding at Southern Granary and the location was perfect and so close to the venue. The owner was so easy to work with and immediately answered all my questions before, during, and as we were leaving.

Wedding weekend

Excellent location for weddings at the southern granery. Easy access to town. Nice playground next door for littles. Host was easy to communicate with.

When we got there Wednesday, there was a over whelming smell that seemed to be an oil based product. We opened the doors and turned on the furnace fan to try to get the smell out. When we gave our grandkids a bath and let the water out, it was leaking into the basement bathroom. We like to cook our own meals, but had very few essentials, and we had to clean some of the cookware that we wanted to use. The location was nice and close enough to Libery College to attend our granddaughter graduation.

The aroma was a vanilla air freshener i sprayed that morning I suppose. There was a brand new set of cookware in the pantry. Someone else reported the leak, but I can never reproduce it to seal it. Sorry you were not totally satisfied. I usually get great reviews for the 9 years we have been in business!

Easy Access

The location was great for our needs in Altavista. The decor is eclectic and has a nice vibe. Some minor maintenance and cleaning needs to be performed ( high levels of dust, broken blinds) to make the property truly reflect its potential.

The location was excellent for attending the wedding of my son at Southern Granary in September. We really did have the best option for location of all the guests who came into the area for the wedding. The cottage is listed as charming and historic. Perfect for people who are into that aesthetic. The weather was great during our stay, and most of us spent our time together on the front porch. For me, it was really in need of lots of updating and serious upgrades for the appliances and bedding (mattresses, pillows, and linens), and furniture. Understanding that the cleaning fee was minimal, it really was not up to my standards of cleanliness. Most of the family was fine with the stay, and it isn’t my intention to be harsh. (Disclaimer: We are city residents, and typically stay in 4 star hotels when we travel). The host was great to work with and the price for the long weekend stay was a really good deal!

Nice weekend.

Very convenient to a wedding We were attending at the Southern Granary. We wanted a place where family members could come from different states and visit while we were all in town for the wedding. Very nice, cozy home.

Had a great stay, Joseph was very accommodating. Be was also very easy to communicate with.

House was very comfortable and quiet. Beds were as good as any I've ever slept on. Would highly recommend, especially if 2 families traveling together.
