We loved staying at this dog-friendly cottage. The ocean sunrises and sunsets were fantastic and we saw birds, orcas, humpbacks, sea lions, a river otter, and a bear cub on the beach. It was an awesome nature fix!

Very private property. Kitchen is stocked with whatever you may need to make a great meal. Wild bunnies provided constant viewing entertainment for our dog! The ocean look out points were amazing. We will definitely be back!

Amazing, beautiful property! We saw Sea lions, Seals, Orcas and two Humpback whales all from the decks on the property. The house was so pretty and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. Highly recommend!

The Rose Cottage is located on a beautiful piece of property west of Sooke that joins the forest with the sea. A rocky coastline creates amazing scenery and lookout points on various trails allow for guests to watch for whales, otters, sea lions, eagles, and large ships passing through the Straight of Juan de Fuca. Sunsets can be stunning. Inside the cottage, modern design and comfy furnishings provide a cozy place to relax and unwind. Would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed for a week in May and the property is well kept and stocked. It is very pet friendly. My dog loved the trails and beach. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. The king bed was very comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. The loft was a bit warmer than the rest of the cottage, but since it was August and there's no air conditioning, that was understandable. Fans were provided and were effective at keeping the space comfortable.The rocky beach was beautiful, and the sound of the water moving through the stones was incredibly relaxing. There were also lovely paths to explore, which made it easy to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would happily stay again.

This was our fourth stay at Rose Cottage and it was perfect as always. Private and quiet, being able to see the see and Olympic Peninsula from the house and gardens is breathtaking. The house was spotless with comfortable beds and linens, full kitchen with everything you’d ever need and clean bathrooms. The location just out of Sooke is perfect for with everything just a short drive away. We can’t wait to return.

This is a beautiful cabin with a privat garden and stunning sea views. We saw and heard the whales feed from the cabin. Rose cottage has a gorgeous interior, was squeaky clean and the kitchen well equipped with everything one could ever need. Ray welcomed us warmly and gave us a brief introduction to the cottage and surroundings, which was greatly appreciated. We brought our dog along and it turned out that Rose Cottage is most suited, as it has a garden, framed by beautiful landscaping. However, the area is not totally fenced and we had to keep a close eye on our pooch. There is also a busy road behind the cottage, which would be important for dog owners to know. The traffic noice was no problem and could not be heard inside the cottage and was also no issue in the garden, as the property was sheltered by hedges. We loved the various seating areas along the sea front. We saw whales every day and watched the glorious sunsets in awe.

Wonderfully private property, with just three cottages. 180-degree panorama of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympics. Flowers in your garden and on the paths. Wooden platforms atop the cliffs, inviting sketchers and photographers and anyone who loves beauty. A long pebble beach, reached by a wooden staircase. And a host who, apparently, has thought of "everything."Plus, every Canadian we met was welcoming and kind, despite our country of origin. Especially Ray: you will enjoy meeting Ray.

Lovely oceanfront setting. Rose Cottage was perfect for our stay. Ray and Kristi were very helpful and responsive to any of our needs. Would recommend this location for a peaceful and restful vacation.

Wonderful relaxing and quiet spot. Lots of places to go for walks. If you enjoy nature a like watching the west coast ocean, this is the place for you. The rabbit that came to visit every morning was an added bonus!

We loved our stay. The kitchen was well equipped, the furniture was comfortable, and we didn't want to leave. Our border collie was happy and relaxed. We loved the view, the sound of the crashing waves, and the close proximity to several beaches. We will be back again.
