A very well kept and homey feel to this historic property. If you are looking for a very simple, peaceful, and relaxing stay, this historic farm is a great opportunity to experience a country atmosphere. Yvonne was very friendly and welcoming with excellent comminication throughout our stay. From a welcoming basket with a couple muffins to the historic write-up on the home and area, her horses and the neighboring horses made her home feel welcoming and peaceful throughout our stay. If you are looking for a stay in a quaint historic New England home, I highly recommend Yvonne's property!

The location was perfect and Yvonne was great. My only issue is I have a bad back and was uncomfortable in the chairs and bed. If you don’t have back issues you’ll be happy here.

A wonderful weekend stay

The Daffodil was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Yvonne was very accommodating and readily available during the stay. The property/house itself was wonderfully unique, and even had a few horses in a large, fenced-in area on the property. We had a lovely stay here.

Short visit (3 nights) to NH with my dog. Yvonne was very welcoming and offered tips for nearby venues. Nice convenient location; we hope to return.

Great getaway with period details

The Daffodil was just what I needed after being run down and in need of a break. The property has distinctive vibes and architectural details like wide plank floors, low ceilings and beams that give it a cozy and authentic feel.

Yvonne is a gracious & generous host. Staying there is a trip back in time to the old homes of New England with it low ceilings and rolling floor boards. Stocked with books & games that helps step away from tech for a bit. Lovely experience

Wonderful host!

Yvonne was so accommodating! Information and communication were above and beyond. Great 1700s farmhouse with all of the old charm. Very private and comfortable.

Restorative and inspirational

The vibe at Daffodil getaway was delightfully languid and relaxed. We enjoyed all the thoughtful touches !including the folder describing the history and restoration of the house (which is steeped in history aas well as charm)!

Misled

Cute little cozy property. Host was friendly and welcoming. Not that it's really important, but the TV was tiny. The amenities listed said includes breakfast. There was no breakfast and I didn't bring anything. Other than that, kitchen and bath were supplied with everything you need.

We enjoyed having you. We do have a TV with a DVD player for our guests that has cable and internet. It is small, but we find that most of our guests stream on their computers, everyone seems to like different things, and most people are not here much because they are out enjoying the beautiful natural world around us. As for breakfast, we did leave food for you to fix - pancakes, syrup, oil, cereal, etc. Everyone these days eats differently so it is hard to predict. If you had asked us for special foods, we would certainly have been glad to provide them. We hope you enjoyed your stay in our beautiful home despite these little things.

Quiet and Clean Weekend Getaway

We stayed at the Daffodil for the weekend while attending an event at the New England Dragway. The apartment is part of the lower level of the owner’s home with a separate entrance, however there is a door in the bedroom that I’m assuming leads into the main home. It feels completely private and we never heard any noise from the main home. Yvonne had toys for our children and introduced her beautiful horses to us, which our daughter loved. The entire space was clean and welcoming, with just a few 8-legged friends living in the corners of the rooms. The area was gorgeous, and Yvonne has a beautiful property in a nice quiet little town.

My daughters and I loved our stay. The host was very welcoming and sweet. We had every meal at the picnic table outside , we loved the horses we loved the cozy home. We will be staying again.

Daffodil

My Husband and I took our 5 mont old puppy on a short trip to enjoy the outdoors. We loved the old charm of the house and there is a very interesting history in a booklet that was left on the kitchen table. The owner let Nyla play with her 10 month old laberdoodle (very cute). She also gave us hints about where to walk on wooded trails nearby and places to eat. Hope to go again soon.

Awesome Location - Awesome Host - Awesome Stay

Long story-SHORT: The Daffodil is a great place to stay. The host, Yvonne was wonderful. The place was neat, clean, well appointed and reasonably priced. The historic town of Chester was safe, beautiful, and centrally located to all that we wanted. We would happily stay again! —————————— Short story-LONG: Every year in October, my friend of 48 years and I, take our annual “BFF Trip”. (We used to call it our “Thelma & Louise Trip”, but we have no desire to drive off cliffs.) Living in Southern California, we don’t get a lot of fall foliage. There are places to get a bit of it, but nothing on a large scale, so this year, we decided to be New England leaf peepers. CONVENIENCE: Wanting to see what several states had to offer, in a fairly short (4 day) period of time, we knew staying central to the states we wanted to visit would be mandatory. After looking into it, we realized that Chester, NH would be perfect! In less than an hour, we could be in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine. In 1.5 hrs. we were in Vermont. It was great! Then there’s the historic town of Chester itself, beautiful, wooded and quaint. There’s an apple farm nearby, a small, walkable, covered bridge over Wason Pond, trails to walk, and if you’re lucky enough to be there during October you can tour the “Chester Scarecrows”. (Search for it online) Everything we needed was close by as well: a store, gas station, restaurants, walking trails and more. ACCOMMODATIONS & COMMUNICATION: Our host, Yvonne, was wonderful and communicated clearly and promptly. It was obvious that she truly cared about us enjoying our stay. The place had everything we needed and more, such as: cookware, silverware, utensils, large appliances, small appliances, shampoo, soap, coffee, tea, sweeteners, etc. She even left us a welcome basket filled with snacks, drinks and information, along with recommendations. COMFORT & CLEANLINESS: The place was as clean as could be! The beds were very comfortable and the bedding all smelled fresh and newly laundered. We both slept so well. She even supplied a white noise machine for those (like me) that sleep better with the sound of a fan or the like. As you can see by my lengthy review, we had a great time and really enjoyed our stay at The Daffodil. Thanks so much Yvonne! We hope to be back again someday.

The Daffodil

Beautiful property. We enjoyed the colorful gardens and outside seating areas. The place had a lot of character and it was very intimate, allowing my older children and I to catch up after not seeing each other for a year. The area was very convenient to shops and restaurants, but also offered solitude. I highly recommend the Daffodil.
