Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. I celebrated my 40th with my sisters and a couple close friends and it was the perfect size for our needs. Wish we would’ve booked a longer stay, definitely next time!

Everything you need for a great time

One of the best things is the yard. We played wiffleball and frisbee with lots of room to spare. The patio is protected from the westerly breeze and if you are looking for the breeze just pull a chair out 15 feet and enjoy the breeze and the fabulous view of the lake. A great place to relax and also a short distance to family activities if you are not into biking or kayaking, fishing and swimming.

Little yellow house

We enjoyed our stay over the weekend. The host (Brenda) was very sweet and showed us around. This house is very kid friendly with lots of games and puzzles. We will definitely be coming back to rent the little yellow house.

Little Yellow House

We love staying at the “little yellow house” when we come to Balsam Lake for an annual family reunion. The accommodations are perfect for our needs and the personal, homey touches are greatly appreciated.

A quiet, cozy house.

We enjoyed our stay at this cute farmhouse, which reminded me of our childhood living in northern Wisconsin. The house was clean, and had everything we needed for this get together. We watched deer, visited local wineries, played games, made a trip to Stillwater, and still had down time to talk and catch up on each other's lives.

Balsam Lake Winterfest Getaway

Property was very clean, organized & cozy. I loved the laminated helpful notes throughout the home. Location was easy to get to town for events as well. Would definitely stay here again :)

The little yellow house

This is our second stay at the little yellow house as my granddaughter calls it and we again found it perfect for our needs. Lots of little homey touches and the perfect location close to my sister’s lake home for our family reunion.

Cute, clean little farmhouse

This place has pretty much everything's you need for a little get away. Easy access to a lake for kayaking and a little park nearby. It’s 20 minutes to St Croix falls if you want to do some hiking. Comfortable beds with plenty of blankets and fans in each room. Highly recommend!

Great weekend away!

This place is a beautiful oasis in the country! The check in process was seamless and Brenda was a wonderful host. The house had a beautiful open lawn, wide open skies, and a space filled with thoughtful amenities. The beach was steps away and we had the best time. Thank you for the great weekend!

Cozy cottage, Great location, Lots of amenities!

Wonderful stay on Half Moon Lake! Property owners truly set the standard on how to welcome their guests by providing everything needed and then some. Super comfortable beds and furniture. TV's, game table, throw blankets. Fully equipped kitchen. Fire pit with plenty of wood. Use of canoe/kayaks on crystal clear fishing lake that is literally 200 yards away. Great family get-a-way!

Country getaway

This is a very adequate property to relax and enjoy the privacy and countryside. This was our groups second visit. This home has room to relax and enjoy a laid back stay. Three bedrooms are very comfortable and cozy. We enjoy the campfire, barbecue, patio and country walks. A good sized kitchen with everything you need. Enjoy the surrounding wildlife including the Bald Eagles nesting. This Memorial Day weekend was perfect with the daily sunshine!!!!

Relaxing spacious accommodations

This is a beautiful home to rent while staying in the balsam Lake area. My friends and I love this home. We each have our own space for sleeping and the accommodations are spotless. The kitchen area is well stocked with what you would need to prepare meals and again it is spacious for groups of people. The outside yard is beautiful with an Eagles nest in the front Evergreen tree up top. We were able to watch the Eagles flying in and out and then observing us as we’re standing on the sidewalk looking up. Half moon lake is a beautiful small leg. There’s easy access to either unload a boat or take your toys down to the lake. I highly recommend this property if you want a relaxing comfortable stay while you are enjoying time off.

Grandma's house: with a lot less clutter!

This cute farmhouse has the necessary items to make you feel at home without the extra clutter that make you need to clean. We had ample space for our young family of six, got lots of great outdoor-time across the road at the nearby lake, and had an evening bonfire. We were able to easily cook a few meals and jaunt around the area: Taylor's Falls and The Franconia. It is rather isolated/private though harvest season combines were hard at work. It's sometimes difficult for family-owned homes to sufficiently be emptied of years of "stuff" but these ladies have done a great job. Thank you!

From finding this property,and booking it the experience was great. Lots of information on the listing, great pictures, and awesome communication with the property manager. We had a very warm welcoming experience at the cottage and from the property manager! The cottage was a pleasant surprise! Lots amenities that most places don’t offer. We didn’t want for anything! They had it all for our use! Beautiful property and close to the lake! Comfortable and relaxing! They didn’t skimp on house supplies, just bring your food and clothing! Nice cozy bedding, soft towels! The cottage was very clean! Updated interior. Property manager really was genuine, caring, and accommodating! Definitely a place to return too!

Relaxing country home

Always a relaxing event to stay at whispering pines. This country home is set up to give visitors a clean, comfortable cozy stay. Loved the local cafes and restaurants.
