Nice cabin with good amenities (games, cookware, hot tub, fire pit, grill, fully stocked with firewood and roasting sticks, plenty of extra blankets and towels). Check-in was easy and our stay was very smooth. We loved the proximity to the boat rental place - we were able to walk across the street to the dock instead of needing to drive. Very close to a grocery store / market (2 minute drive). We enjoyed our stay and would come again. Some minor inconveniences: no baking sheets, no sponges, and some of the rugs smelled like dogs. It wasn’t a big deal though, and we had a nice stay. Was safe and fun for my 18 month old niece.

wonderful pet-friendly cabin

This cabin met our expectations and more. It was a 15-20 minute drive to the slopes. It's located right by a market and several restaurants. There is a wonderful pizza and coffee shop 5 - 10 minutes away. The cabin was spacious (large, bright basement, perfect for kids) and incredibly clean. The furniture, rugs, and bedding looked new and clean. We loved the modern cabin decorations. We loved that the Yellowstone neighborhood was tucked away from the main road but you don't feel isolated because you are surrounded by similar Yellowstone cabins. The street the cabins are on made it convenient to walk the dog even when it was snowy and icy. The kitchen was modern and spacious and had everything we needed (modern, clean dishes and pots and pans, and baking sheets and dishes, and pizza stones, etc.); we cooked in 6 out of 7 nights. We loved using the fireplaces and hot tub. Railey was great at delivering additional firewood. Overall it was a great place, the rental process from start to finish was easy, and we realllly look forward to staying there again.

Some issues

We had a problem with the lock on the front door, the screen was ripped out, there were dust bunnies everywhere and the upstairs toilet kept running but other than that it was very comfortable.

“Adequate”

We enjoyed our week despite several disappointing discoveries that would have warranted a higher rating.although there are 6 TVs, other necessities are lacking. In the kitchen, there was only one potholder, so we had to make due with a tea towel to supplement. The Lowe refrigerator shelf caused everything to freeze. The smoke detector went off when ever we used the oven. The dial of the washing machine was missing so temperature could not be adjusted. The broom is disgusting and needs replacing ( both inside and outside) and there is no dustpan. When drying with a bath towel, it started splitting, probably due to age and over use of bleach. On arrival, of the bed comforters had sticky candy attached. Sooo, it was ok, but these concerns made our stay somewhat challenging. Last year we stayed in a different property in the same neighborhood., so we knew we liked the location and dog friendliness. Unfortunately, we paid much more for the dog fees this time and were disappointed with the “adequate” property as described.

charming, clean, and close to all attractions

Great property for the winter. Easy access to Wisp for skiing, and great restaurants close by. Good house for kids too, as they can hang out in the loft or the basement for their own space. Enjoyed making nice fires in the fireplace which made it feel like home. Would definitely visit again.

The Rainy Week

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have been traveling to DCL for over 40 years. At one time our family owned a cabin off of State Park Road. When we sold It in 2011 due to pending high school and college tuitions, I promised my kids a week at the lake every year. after several places, I found a nice place for 4 adults to stay and enjoy. It rained, we enjoyed our surroundings, we played games, enjoyed the hot tub and had a lovely kitchen to cook in at the Whitewater Lodge. The door lock was a problem and I would not like to see anyone locked out, choose to leave it unlocked or break the patio door.

Great family trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was quiet wonderful with needed amenities and close to nearby attractions/lake. We had more than plenty of space (four adults and two children). The neighborhood was quiet, friendly and peaceful (wooded development). We enjoyed taking evening walks around the development. My family and I had a wonderful visit to Deep Creek and would love to stay here again in a heartbeat. With that being said, there are a few housekeeping items in the cabin that could use some attention/forwarded unto maintenance and/or owner. 1. Front door lock is tricky to operate, in fact upon arrival we thought the wrong key was provided. The door doesn’t close/open easily, which maybe due to humidity and wood expansion. 2. Majority of the house windows don’t properly lock when the latch is turned to the lock position (and obviously weren’t locked upon our arrival). 3. There’s a loose recessed light in the downstairs bathroom above the tub. 4. The hot tub cover locks aren’t present on the cover, but there is a strap to hold the cover in place for safety. 5. There’s a small plastic end table with a broken leg on the front porch next to the swing that needs to be removed. 6. We only stayed four nights, but we filled up the recycling bin pretty quick. It might be helpful to have two recycling bins available because we had to transport recyclables home in lew of stopping at the local recycling center.

Cozy Cabin Near Everything

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin slept 5 adults and a child comfortably. It's cozy and well appointed. The highlights for us were the indoor hot tub (epic to have it inside!!), the DVD collection and the air hockey table. The cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. It was very, very close to just about everything. The community was a nice size and made for good walks after dinner. The only issue we had was the fridge. The door has a broken shelf and it kept falling out. I did report this and hopefully it will get fixed soon. This was the first time we have used Railey. Everything went smoothly.

My Whitewater Lodge Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything went well, the place had everything I needed and expected to see there. All the supplies and furniture there were in good condition. There is also many stores and restaurants nearby with 10 minutes. We had access to all our activities nearby. Overall, we liked that there was a gym included with our stay and it had an indoor pool too!

Thank you for your feedback! The hot tub is serviced prior to each arrival. Sometimes the interaction between the iron in the water and the chemicals used to sanitize the tub can cause a slight discoloration of the water. However, it is safe to use.
