Beautiful cottage up the hill overlooking Cane Bay. The road to get there is rough, keep that in mind. Quiet & dark which makes for a great night's sleep. Hosts were excellent. Dogs were sooo sweet. They visited multiple times per day. We would certainly plan to stay again.

Great cottage stay with amazing views!

Nice cottage way up looking over Cane Bay. Beautiful views, deck was great for hanging out and stargazing. Big comfortable king bed, nice big sofa in living room and kitchen had all things needed for our stay. Would stay again!

Very enjoyable

Beautiful view, great deck, conveniently located for outings anywhere on the island. It was nice to have Bear and Ginger (nice dogs!) visit us.

Serene Hillside Retreat

Awesome location with sweeping views of the north shore right above Cane Bay. Affordable, great location, and privacy. The hosts were extremely responsive, accommodating and friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

A gem of a Caribbean Cottage

Spectacular views and serene surroundings add up to a wonderful getaway to the mountain top of St. Croix. Michael went beyond our expectations with his assistance, kindness and hospitality. A fantastic find in paradise!

Winter vacation

Rented this house for the senic views and secluded location. Although we wernt able to meet the host do to unfortunate circumstances he kept in touch and had a house host also stay intouch. The views were great just what we wanted.

Adventure Awaits

Absolutely adorable cottage in the mountains of St Croix. If you’re looking for an adventurous time on the island, this is your place. The owner is so friendly and accommodating. Please rent a 4WD vehicle if you want to stay here as it is absolutely necessary in the rainy season. Close to beautiful Cane Bay and Christiansted and central to basically everything.

Peaceful mountain stay

We chose this place as a quiet but close location to town. It was so wonderful to sit on the deck and listen to the birds in the morning and have coffee. It’s perfect for size for two! Everything you need is provided! Michael and Barbara were extremely responsive and even suggested events going on around the island! We come back annually and will definitely stay with them again.

Dreamy escape

Everything about our stay was top notch. I grew up in St Croix, and wanted to stay somewhere off the beaten path. The house was well kept and surrounded by gorgeous, lush rainforest. It is a short drive to Cane Bay, and easy access to Christiansted and Frederiksted. Michael was an incredible host — met us at the airport and made sure we had what we needed all week. And the regular visits from his dogs was the icing on the cake. Couldn’t have been a better stay.

Amazing sea view

This little place had everything we needed. Firm king size bed. Comfy couch. The owners were very nice and gave recommendations on where to eat. The view is amazing. Location is just a couple minutes drive to the beach. Not much further to town. The road up is a little bumpy but the foliage is amazing. Daily visits from the owners pets. Snorkel gear, beach chairs, and a cooler were available for use. I would stay here again.

Clean, quaint cottage with awesome views and owners!!

Tucked away in the rain forest, this little cottage was one bedroom perfection for a secret getaway for the 2 of us. The owners, Michael and Barbara, went above and beyond to make our stay spectacular. From finding us on the first day when we got lost, to the “Happy Birthday” & “Welcome” gift upon our arrival, to even helping us with a flat tire on the rental vehicle during our stay, these owners MADE the experience wonderful! Will absolutely stay here again upon our return to the Caribbean. Stunning views from the porch and you can still hear the waves crash down below in the ocean!!

Rain forest gem

This place is awesome. We were lucky to stay there 3 days- we wish it was longer. The views are stunning, the bed is comfy, the porch is great. We enjoyed meeting Michael and Barbara, their son and pups. Constant contact and they met us after we landed. You will want to rent a vehicle. We used a small SUV which did the job just fine! Hope to return soon.

Peaceful Retreat

Looking for some peace and quiet? This is the location! Everything you'll need is here. No traffic. No loud neighbors. The property was very clean and fully equipped. The views out to sea are awesome. My host was great. Came out to the airport to welcome me. Gave me the run down of the property and the neighborhood. Very easy to get a hold of with any questions. It's a short ride to everything like Pueblo supermarket, restaurants and clubs. A wonderful experience and plan to return for a longer visit.

Amazing views

We enjoyed our stay at Michaels and Barbara's cottage. Michael meet us at the airport and guided us to the cottage deep in the rain forest. As others have mentioned; you really need a jeep or truck to navigate the rough roads. But once you reach the cottage, what an AMAZING view! Michal was very accommodating and provided us with everything we needed. If you are a diver, there is also a large container to clean and a place to hang your gear (very close to Cane Bay). The cottage contains everything you will need during your stay (beach chairs, cooler, dish detergent, beach towels, cooking supplies etc.). The bed and the couch was very comfortable. There are 3 very sweet dogs on the property but booger bear their black lab would visit every morning and night keeping us company. Michael, Barbara and Booger Bear were the prefect hosts!! We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Quiet Vacation w/ amazing views

The owner, Michael, met us at the airport and led us back to the property. You couldn't meet a more helpful, friendly host. What a great guy! Everything was as pictured. The place was clean, quiet, and had amazing views. We went by the supermarket on the way and stocked up for the week. The kitchen has virtually everything you need. The Wi-fi worked great and phone service was good as there are several towers on the adjacent mountain. Cane Bay Beach is a 5 minute drive away. It is has amazing views on a sunny day. We just parked our rental along the edge of the road that parallels the beach. There are several good restaurants here as well. The family dogs are occasional visitors and are super friendly. We loved having them around...especially Bear, the big black Lab/Chow mix. So many more nice things to say. The place get 5 Star ratings for a good reason. We will definately be back soon! Thank You Michael for all the hospitality!

We enjoyed the fabulous view from the balcony. This cottage is a short drive from Cane Bay and is a quiet peaceful place to stay. Be sure to have a car with good clearance as the road is a bit tricky.

Great Stay Beautiful view

Our stay was amazing, I booked this trip for my husbands 40th birthday. We are avid beach goers so the location in proximity to the beach was perfect and the other places we'd made plans to visit we not far either. We really loved staying here the host were absolutely amazing and accommodating. We were a bottle of vodka from them, they have another vacation rental close by as well it was vacate during our stay so they let us choose which apartment we liked better. Michael's rental has a best view I've seen in my life. The location is off the beaten path and not so easy to find via GPS so Michael's wife met us at the airport to make sure we didn't any issues finding the place. long story short the place is as pictured, it was clean, comfy any fully stocked with all necessities needed.

Lovely Views

Amazing/lovely place. If you want to stay at the top of the mountain and you’re ok with driving up the hill in a 4X4 as a small adventurous ride this is definitely the place to stay. Sunrise and sunset views here are priceless. The owner is cool and is available all the time to help if needed. Thank you, we will definitely go back.

Perfect getaway

The property's location provides an amazing view of the ocean, sunset and island. The owners are extremely helpful and offered guidance on what we could do during our stay. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back and enjoy this place again.

Great trip and great host

We loved the property and the views that it affords. Having the privacy of being in the mountains, but 20 to 30 minutes from most of the places we wanted to see and hang out was awesome. Being less than five minutes from Cane Bay was very convenient. Michael was wonderful, he was there if you needed him, And Bear and Ginger the property dogs made us feel just like we were at our own home. They also aren’t overbearing, if you want them around they pick up on it and hang out, but they are pretty timid and would leave I think if you didn’t want them there. Great stay, pretty cool house, and a wonderful island. Will definitely be back to Saint Croix and stay with Michael.

Barbara and Michael moved to St. Croix in 1997 where they met at the local dive shop. They moved onto the property in 1998 and rented one of the units. After gettin hitched in 2001 they purchased the property and moved to the main house and started renting out the rest of the units. Barbara is a talented artist and has spent most of her time adding to the beauty of the island by painting over 150 murals and hundreds of original paintings. Michael is a Jack of all trades specializing as a 100 ton USCG licensed charter boat captain, property manager, video photographer, and Barbara's sherpa. They live on the property with their two amazing boys and three dogs.

This property is unique because it is on one of the highest elevations on St. Croix. It is nestled in the rain forest and overlooks the North Shore and Northern Leeward Islands. On a clear day you can see St. Thomas, St. John, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, and Jost Van Dyke. The interior is decorated with Barbara's amazing art work. The property is on the mountain above five restaurants each having its own unique menu. The cottage is just 5 minutes away from the amazing Cane Bay Beach. The diving and snorkeling is spectacular with a 3200' wall just 100 yards from shore. Two beach bars with great foos and a full service dive shop are right across the street from the beach.

Michael has worked in the tourism industry on St. Croix for twenty two years. When it comes to making guests feel welcome, he has skills. Eight years as a bartender, he can teach you numerous drinks you can easily create and recipes to take home to share. He is a retired PADI dive instructor with over 5000 dive on St, Croix alone. If you are a diver or want to try it, his knowledge of the dive shops and dive sites is unparalleled. He currently works as a captain for Big Beards Adventure tours which is rated as the number one thing to do on St. Croix on Trip Advisor.
