❊ Welcome to our Tuscan oasis Il Fienile ❊

The name of the house means old barn. There is no other house like it in the area. So romantic and charming. You will love watching the sun at sunset and counting the stars at night. ☀️✨💫

The apartment is a heaven of tranquility that is part of an ancient village recently recovered and surrounded by the greenery of the rich Tuscan countryside. The view of the historic city of Volterra and the landscape is breathtaking. 😍
A few kilometers away are the cities of San Gimignano, Montaione, Gambassi Terme and Certaldo.

In the recent renovation the typical elements of the Tuscan style have been maintained with vaulted ceilings and chestnut beams, brick arches and terracotta floors.

The house is an independent construction and has a large exclusive garden with a wooden pergola and a large table for outdoor dining while enjoying the wonderful panorama. 🌳🌱🌿

The interior is equipped with all comforts: air conditioning, free unlimited wifi, washing machine, kitchen with dishwasher, fridge with freezer, hob and oven.

On the ground floor there is a large dining area with a large brick fireplace. 🕯️
On the first floor there is the sleeping area with a double bed and two single bunk beds. 🛌
Each floor has a comfortable bathroom with shower. 🚿

Families with small children are welcome here. You will find amenities such as a high chair for a child and a baby cot with a thick, comfortable mattress. Several toys for the youngest are also in our house. 👶🏻👧👦

Just a few steps away is the enchanting natural stone swimming pool with a beach-type entrance, equipped with a pleasant hydro-massage and a very suggestive waterfall jet of water; to frame a relaxing solarium area equipped with umbrellas and deck chairs. 🏖️

There is also a practical free parking.

In the immediate vicinity there are shops and supermarkets for shopping, farms that produce their own products and characteristic restaurants where you can taste the local cuisine.

The location is ideal for exploring Tuscany: by car you can easily reach San Gimignano (about 15 minutes), Volterra (about 20 minutes), Florence (about 45 minutes), Siena (about 45 minutes), Pisa (about 45 minutes) , the Chianti region (about 45 minutes), the sea and the spas.

Florence, Siena and Pisa can also be reached by taking the train from the nearby Certaldo station, avoiding traffic and finding parking.

Fantastic house, view and pool

We have used VRBO/homeaway a lot and this is our best vacation home yet! Two adults and two kids at age 6 and 8, stayed 3 weeks at the apartment, that is really a separate house from the rest of the Mommialla' apartments. The view from the terrace is amazing and we had most of our meals outside. It is close to nature, so be aware of ants and wasps. There is a 2 km gravel road before you reach Mommialla, and this means the area is quiet (and your car will be covered in dust from the dry dusty road). AC made it comfortable during the hot summer nights. Nice decorations of the house. The pictures are spot on. We would have liked a better kitchen knife or a sharpener, and a few more wine glasses, but other than that it is a fully equipped kitchen. Roberto is the manager in the area and made our stay safe and enjoyable. His is Italian and limited in English language, but we could understand each other. Multiple times we ran in to Roberto, and he always asked if all was well. Communication with Franco was fast and efficient. The pool is beautiful and well maintained – the kids loved it! We give our best recommendations.

Very close to perfect!

Excellent and quick contact with property owner. She was very responsive when I had to make very rapid arrangements (less than 72 hours) after a different VRBO didn't work out. Upon our arrival, Roberto (the property manager - lovely gentleman - very prompt and responsive), helped us to understand the property and it's layout. We felt well-prepared and faced no difficulties during our stay. Roberto speaks Italian and English and we speak mostly English with just enough Italian to be embarrassing to ourselves. People in the area are very good at English, although we found it fun and appropriate to try some Italian phrases as well. The pool at this location is nothing short of stunning! It was popular and well attended amongst the other guests of this agriturismo, yet is so large that it never feels overly-crowded. I cannot stress enough how remarkable this pool area and the corresponding view are. This is remarkable Tuscany! Villa location is central to so many towns that we found this to be an excellent area from which to plan busy days and enjoy quiet and tranquil nights. Coop.fi is the local grocery (Certaldo) and is a lovely place to shop. I found the villa to be well-equipped with the kitchen essentials. I would perhaps add a few sharper chef's knives for those who like to cook. I would note that the showers are compact (cruise-ship size) and that would be the #1 thing that I would alter for any future development. Mobility a must as area is hilly! Thank you!

Es har uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Der Pool ist fantastisch, die Terasse wunderbar. Die Betreuung durch Roberto immer nett und sehr zeitnah.Wir würden uns für die Zukunft über Auflagen für die Liegen an der Wohnung freuen. Falls irgendwann mal die Matratze im Doppelbett getauscht würde, wären zwei einzelne Matratzen besser. Dann wird man nicht wach, wenn die andere Person sich dreht oder aufsteht.

Absolute Erholung

Was braucht man mehr mit Kindern, als einen Swimmingpool und dieser Swimmingpool ist einfach traumhaft für Kinder und Erwachsene. Das Haus war auch sehr schön und wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Die Abgeschiedenheit hilft einem wirklich zu entspannen und doch ist man innerhalb einer Autostunde an den verschiedensten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Toskana. Ein rundum schöner Urlaub!

Einfach toll!

Traumhafter Urlaub, in einer tollen Umgebung! Der Pool lädt nach den Besichtigungen der vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten der toskanischen Städte zur Erholung und gelungenen Abkühlung ein. Auch im Ferienhaus haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte einwandfrei und die Fliegengitter waren sehr hilfreich. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! Die Kommunikation mit Roberto und seiner Tochter war unkompliziert, sie waren uns eine große Hilfe.

Tolle Anlage, großartiger Pool!

Wir haben einen wunderbaren Urlaub dort verbracht. Die Anlage ist wunderschön, ruhig, sehr sauber und der Pool grandios. Die Bilder versprechen nicht zu viel! Unsere Kinder (6 und 13 Jahre) haben es sehr genossen. Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber und komfortabel. Die Kommunikation mit Roberto und seiner Tochter einwandfrei und sehr herzlich - vielen Dank!

Lage und Umfeld waren top! Ausstattung gut! Es sollte allerdings in Sachen Sonnenschutz für die Terrasse noch nachgearbeitet werden, und die Terrassenmöbel sollten wegen Altersschwäche erneuert werden.

We take your opinion to heart and try to improve what we can. We will deal with the issue of sewer odors and uncomfortable seats as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we do not have influence on everything. We are unable to control mosquitoes. The issue of the internet in the village is also difficult to solve, because we use the only available connection. We hope you enjoyed your stay in our house despite some minor inconveniences.

Ein sehr schöner Ort zum Entspannen!

Das Haus ist wunderschön und sehr gut zu klimatisieren, die Anlage gepflegt und sauber, der Pool ganz toll. Die Kommunikation mit Franco und Roberto war sehr gut. Der einzige Mangel ist der rostige alte Grill, der passt überhaupt nicht zum Rest und sollte ausgetauscht werden. Wir haben uns im Baumarkt eine kleine billige Alternative gekauft😉 Für die Sitzmöbel (Holzbank) vor dem Haus sollte man sich vielleicht ein paar Sitzkissen mitnehmen, wir haben 2 gekauft und für die nächsten Gäste da gelassen. Das war deutlich bequemer. Wir wären sehr sehr gerne noch länger geblieben, aber leider mussten wir nach 4 Tagen aufgrund eines Unfalls wieder abreisen😥 Das Haus können wir uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.

tolles Haus mit super Blick

Waren das zweite mal in dem Haus und es ist immer wieder schön! Der Pool ist fantastisch und die Pergola vor dem Haus spendet nicht nur Schatten, sondern entlohnt auch mit einem tollen Blick über das Tal und wunderschönen Sonnenuntergängen. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Die Küchenausstattung war etwas dürftig. Die Pfannen sind in die Jahre gekommen, es gab nur wenig Besteck, wenig Gläser, keine guten Kaffeetassen, keine ordentliche Reibe (etwa für Parmesan), keine Müslischüsseln. Hier könnte man ein wenig nachbessern. Ansonsten sehr empfehlenswertes Haus. Top!

Incredible Family Vacation

The views and overall setting were absolutely gorgeous! In fact some of the pictures I captured during our vacation were beyond belief, but they were absolutely real. San Gimignano is about a fifteen minute drive away and it equally as beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Sommer in der Toskana

Wir haben eine schöne Ferienwoche in Mommialla verbracht. Das Haus ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt, um die Toskana zu erkunden, denn die Städte Pisa, Siena und Florenz sind mit dem Auto gut erreichbar (San Gimignano und Volterra sowieso in 15 bis 20 min). Es gibt in der Umgebung diverse Restaurants, in denen wir gut gegessen haben und in den umliegenden Orten auch ausreichend Supermärkte. Fußläufig befindet sich eine Azienda, in der man ebenfalls einige Produkte für den täglichen Bedarf kaufen kann (Eier, Brot, Milch, Käse, Öl). Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und war sehr sauber. Da wir im Juli da waren, haben wir uns vor allem über die Klimaanlage und die Mückengitter gefreut. Der schön anelegte Pool hat eine willkommene Abkühlung geboten. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. The construction of the building reflects the typical construction methods of the historic Borgo which has been subject to strict Italian heritage laws. All the original materials have been reused, and other materials have been recovered. The works were carried out using traditional construction methods. The apartment is actually a small house - barn - on the edge of the Borgo, with its own roof and windows on all sides.
Among the best features: the large farmyard in front of the garden, with breathtaking views over the valley towards the ancient Etruscan city of Volterra.
