L'energia solare fornisce servizi pur di tenervi fuori dalla griglia e il verde.

We had such a wonderful stay at Jim’s cabin! The location is absolutely stunning—private, wooded, with multiple river access points on the property and a great beach area to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The cabin was well appointed, cozy, and clean. We loved having slow mornings with coffee on the porch listening to the river sounds before heading out to hike or bike. Trail access around the property is great and Jim and Lorie were so helpful with recommendations. We enjoyed chatting with Jim who is such a kind and generous person with an interesting background. We honestly didn’t want to leave and wish we would have booked a longer stay. We definitely will be back and for longer next time! Thanks so much, Jim, Lorie, and Bleu!

Nice quiet location. Off the beaten path which is what we wanted. Enjoyed relaxing by the river as well as by the fire pit when it cooled off in the evening.

Amazing

Second time staying in Jim’s cabin and loved it again. The location cannot be beat if you like the outdoors. Loved that we can bring our dogs. The cabin is clean and it has everything that you’d need.

Perfect Getaway from the world

Such a beautiful, peaceful place to get away. The cabin is gorgeous and has everything you need. If you want to unplug and spend some uninterrupted time from your phone, email, social media and get into nature this is the place. Jim was the best host and we will definitely be coming back.

Music in the mountains

Perfect remote cabin with all the amenities you could need in the woods. Relaxed by watching the hummingbirds and listening to all the sounds of nature.

Lovely location

We really enjoyed our stay on the river. The river cabin was perfect. Beautiful wildflowers, lots of butterflies, and wildlife all around the cabin. There are three wonderful decks at the cabin and we loved hearing the sound of the river. Very secluded setting. Jim, the owner, was most helpful and a very sweet man. A lucky find.

Dirt bike trip

Great place. Beautiful and clean. Our hosts Jim and Lorie were very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of amazing trails in the area. Ride in/ride out from the cabin. Only downside is no internet connection in the cabin. Not a problem to get off the grid and unplug for awhile, but we needed it for a little bit daily for business purposes and understood the cabin to be equipped with wifi.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay ! I am confused though, when we talked long before your stay, we discussed the wifi at the cabin could be spotty and you may need to walk down to where the Starlink dish was to get service. We also discussed that the dish was just installed and I didnt have a history of performance, except it was working fine for me to work on. I saw that several members of the party did come to the dish numerous times and were on the WIFI connection for the phone for a long time.

River Cabin

The stay was great! Based on pictures, I had the impression we would see the mountains and have direct access to the river out the front door of the cabin. I was looking forward to sitting by the river every day. There was no easy access to the river-maybe because of the Spring season? Couldn't see much of the mountains because of all the pine trees. Also didn't expect to be so remote. (Hour and 20 minutes on a dirt road from town to the cabin.) We quickly adjusted and had a great time. Jim was very accommodating and available.

Hi Connie, The River is about 150' from the back deck and on a well worn trail providing easy access for most, not to mention all the other trails on almost 40 acres providing easy access to the beach and other areas on the over 1000' of river frontage. Maybe you didn't know, but jim offered your husband the 4 wheeler to take you to the river since you weren't able to walk well. Yes the pines are lush around the cabin. The cabin sits in a beautiful valley with many mountains rising up that you can see if you walk a few feet from the back or front door. Jim can make the drive from Fairfield in 45 minutes, but not recommended : ) most make it in about 1 hour, its good you took your time. So glad you were able to experience what you were able to and have a good time. Lorie and Jim

Greatest place on Earth

We were initially skeptical of all of the overly glowing reviews but we can assure you they are all 100% accurate. Jim is an incredible host who seems to thrive off seeing his guests appreciate the natural beauty of Idaho. The cabin is exactly what you’d want in this type of setting: peaceful, comfortable, and quiet. We cooked dinner outside over the fire pit or on a camp stove by the river every night. The stars are worth the trip on their own and the perfectly maintained off road trails in the area make daily adventures easy. Goat lake is certainly a highlight of the area and worth the hike. We did it with 7 and 5 year olds walking on their own and a 2 year old in a back pack so while it is a big hike it is something most fit people can do. Without question this was our favorite vacation we have taken as a family. Thank you, Jim, for making the trip incredible. We wish you all the best.

great location but a little more information

The property itself is great and the owner (Jim) was a very pleasant individual. Nice expanse of trials to the river & stream. A couple of things to note. Although the cabin was very comfortable, the bed in the master bedroom was flush with the south wall. This meant that one of the people in the bed would have to crawl over the other one to get to the bathroom in the night. Neither my wife nor I wanted to be in the landlocked position so we took turns with one of us sleeping on the couch. Our initial plan was to use the cabin as a base for day hikes into the mountains. However, nearly all of the accessible trails in the area were for motorized vehicles (motorbikes, atvs and off-road rigs). We went out for a couple of hikes but it wasn't pleasant being on trails with atvs running by. Additionally, our dog (a golden retriever) was ill-suited for the vegetation in this area and picked up loads of burrs. No burrs at the cabin, but tons in the forest. So if you bring a dog, make sure it's a short-coated dog. Lastly, the neighbor to the immediate north of the cabin was building his structure and had a chihuahua that was attacked by a dog from a previous guest. We were cautioned by Jim to make sure our dog did not venture over to the neighbors' property because he was carrying a sidearm and was prepared to shoot any large dogs that ventured onto his property. Our dog is very friendly and gets along with all dogs, but it is a bit unnerving to know that if he had wandered next door, it could have had a poor outcome. So, I would rate this property as a five-star for a family that wanted to hang around the cabin (which was very relaxing for us) or for a group that wanted to use motorized access to the forest. Just not our thing.

Hi Joe, It is very important to us that all of our guests have a great experience. We wish we would have known you didn't like the king size bed in its location, we could have removed the nightstand and moved it over, there is also a plush new queen bed upstairs. We also wish you would have asked about the trails, there are many trails ATV's can not go on, they would have been better choices. Just to make it clear for others reading this review, our property and trails are protected from everyone and has 0 traffic as we are at the end of the road and no one can come through. In 40 years of living here, it has been very rare to have a couple ATV's come by as I was hiking, I wonder where you were ? Its a shame that you didn't meet Jack the neighbor, he's one of the nicest most laid back people I've ever met and would not hurt any animal, and I think Jim's conversation was misinterpreted . We love the outdoors, dogs and our guests : )

Trip for the soul!

My husband and I stayed in Jim’s cabin for 5 nights and loved every minute of it. Simply being away from the hustle and bustle of life was so rejuvenating. The house had a great front and back porch to sit and relax on. The gas grill came in handy almost every night. It was amazing to see how many modern amenities were available with the solar-powered home - everything we could have needed was there, including a washer. The river was beautiful and so relaxing; Jim had chairs and a pop up shade tent right by the bank. Jim’s house is next door but the property was so large that there was a ton of privacy and space between, but close enough that you could walk over if you needed anything. One important thing to note is that Fairfield is about an hour’s drive south, and the Smoky Bar store about 15 min south only has limited essentials. So, make sure to get all your groceries before arriving or you’ll have a long trip to the grocery in Fairfield. I also recommend a 4wd vehicle, and if you want to try for Goat Lake, you’ll definitely need a side x side or Jeep because we couldn’t make it in my Subaru. I would love to come back some day, it was truly a great place.

Perfect Getaway

I'm not even sure where to start in describing our stay at this property. First, the drive to the cabin from Fairfield had some of the most beautiful scenery! Checking in and getting settled in at the cabin after a long flight and drive from Boise was simple. Lorie was so helpful in planning this trip and giving us valuable information (like closest grocery store)! Jim was the nicest host! The cabin is beautiful and nestled right into the trees. From the cabin we could hear the river and couldn't wait to explore the trails leading down to the river. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay. The river was truly the main attraction for us as we went fishing, tubing, and even tried panning for gold. The canopy and the chairs at the end of the river trail was great! The kids (16 yrs and 9yrs) loved having the hatchet throwing area, too! We all got pretty good at it. Personally, my favorite part of the whole cabin was the back porch as we spent many hours in the morning and evening watching a family of squirrels in a nearby tree; listening and feeling the buzz of the many hummingbirds going to a feeder; viewing the mountains and listening to the river; and just catching up with each other. And as many other reviews have said, the mattresses were very comfy! I would highly recommend this property to others as it was hard to say goodbye.

Amazing cabin getaway!

What a little slice of heaven in the Sawtooth National Forest! My husband, our dog Ranger and I had the most relaxing and peaceful week in Jim's beautiful, well-equipped cabin. The cabin was all it is described to be - very comfortable and cozy for the 3 of us. Jim and his precious dog Bleu were incredibly attentive and kind. Jim is a true gem, one of those special people you will never forget after meeting. This was the best host experience we've ever had at a VRBO. We hiked, played in the river with our pup, took scenic drives, enjoyed evening fires in the fire pit, but most of all we just relaxed on one of the porches and soaked in the glorious display of nature surrounding us. I have never seen so many different varieties of hummingbirds! The only thing that could possibly have made it more enjoyable for my husband is if he could have caught some fish in the river. He gave it his all, but the river won this time. We just may have to come back so he can try again. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway and I will carry the memories with me for a very long time. Thank you Jim!!

Amazing stay at the River Cabin!

We had such a blast at this cabin! From axe throwing, star gazing, hiking, to fishing, there is something to do for everyone, we all had so much fun, and the area is so breathtaking. Jim and Bleu are also some of the best hosts we have ever had, Jim is an amazing guide and person. Thank you so much Jim for the amazing memories, and we definitely hope to see you again!

A piece of HEAVEN

Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in that perfect cozy cabin ! We had the best trip ever. We were busy and rested as well. Fishing, hiking, exploring, picture taking, cooking dinner over the fire, the wood stove plus!!! Jim is the sweetest host who really knows the area and genuinely enjoys hearing about your adventures. Jim and blue really made this trip, after the hardest year ever, so much more special. I can NOT wait to return!! Thanks so much to Lorie and Jim, truly this was the best vacation ever.
