Great beach house and view

It is a great house and location. Manager made everything easy and had timely response to questions. Stairs are quite steep, hard for older people or people with balance or knee problems. Did not provide towels. Enjoyed our stay there. Good value for big family, sleeps 12.

Rainy week

We rented for a week, although the weather wasn’t the greatest we loved being on the beach. We were missing a few things that were listed in the rental but the owner took care of them timely. We had a hard time with the rinsing hose and with kids and sand it made it a little more difficult. The only other issue was the third floor air conditioner wasn’t the greatest unless you were in the smaller room. We walked to the stores and arcade easily and used the laundromat across the street a few times. The convenient store has most things you could need!

Great location, fair house

We enjoyed our stay mostly because the location right on the beach could not have been better. Part of the view is obstructed because of the neighbors but still nice, especially from the third floor and bottom floor sun room. Upon arrival we found the house to be very sandy, understandable as a beach house, but expected it to be professionally cleaned prior to checking in. Not the case. My biggest issue was with privacy. The walls are thin which is fine but there are areas of the house where the cracks are wide enough to see the other half of the duplex. You could easily hear the neighbors talking and moving around. This was an issue especially when putting my kids to bed (both under 2 yrs old so they’re in bed early). The pictures of the house on the website are not accurate. They were clearly taken a long time ago.

New pictures have been uploaded to the site. We have made several improvements that were not reflected in the older pictures, but were conveyed to the tenant prior to renting. These updates include air conditioning on the third floor, wood flooring in all rooms except for the kitchen which is tile and one bedroom on the third floor which has new carpet. This is a duplex, so some sound from either side is expected. We, as the owners stay on the other side and have no issue with a tenant letting us know if they'd like it to be quieter during the evening hours. We communicated back and forth by text during the tenants stay and would have been happy to accommodate this request. We also gave the tenant the use of the entire driveway, parking our cars on the street and also allowed a late check out.

Wonderful memories made in this home. Listening to the waves at night (even with the windows closed as we rented off season). Very relaxing with plenty of room for the family to stretch out. We had six adults and three children. We flew kites, collected shells, enjoyed beach pizza, and played games at Joe's Playland. We are very thankful for the owners showing us the property prior to rental so we could plan our family time and sleeping arrangements. Very thankful for the memories made here!

Cute older cottage that needs a bit of work, but was overall okay. Right on the beach so that made it nicer.

Lots on updates have been made since this family's stay. New flooring, new air conditioning unit in third floor bedroom, new big screen tv and new furniture in livingroom, painted and new walls in livingroom and second floor bedroom, new doors on bathrooms and bedrooms, new king size bed in second floor bedroom.

Very nice house - Right on the beach!

The house was in a great location, literally right on the beach. Some shops and a convenience store just across the street. Overall clean house with plenty of bedrooms. Nice views of the ocean and beach from the back bedrooms. The owner was quick to answer any questions we had during our stay. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to have a great time at the beach and enjoy the local sites.

Fantastic Location... backyard is the ocean

I stay in 2-3 vacation rentals a year so I'm pretty experienced and I'd say this rental was overall fine. Pros: Right on the water (the house is slightly set back so the houses on the either side obstruct the view a bit). Close to the Salisbury boardwalk. There's a convenient store and diner directly across the street. The house was spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 sleeping porches. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped (we didn't cook but there seemed to be everything you might need). There was a dishwasher which is always nice in a vacation rental. Things to consider before renting: The house has paper thin walls. It is a duplex and the owner(s) were staying on the other side with a group of people. We were too noisy for their liking in the morning (The owner called around 7am to ask, "What is going on over there? It's really noisy". We had 4 kids with us who were 7 and under and they weren't being overly loud- just using the stairs and talking. We decided to take the kids and leave for a few hours because I it was early and there was no way we could keep the kids silent and seated until everyone was awake next door. ) They were too loud for our liking at night. (My cousin and her 5-year-old were woken up at 1am by arguing and I don't think they were being loud, I just think the walls are crazy thin. When we were in the living room we could hear the baseball game on their TV. Also, we weren't really able to use the screened in porch (THE BEST PART OF THE HOUSE!) because their part of the house was connected by a sliding closet door and again, we could hear everything. Another thing to note is that they do not provide towels but it didn't say that in the description. When I texted one of the owners she was kind and offered to bring over a few extras that they had but we opted to go out and buy our own the next day. There's no washer/dryer which might influence people staying for an extended period of time. Also, a nice touch would have been to have a few beach chairs and/or sand toys. There was a pile of stuff with a tarp over it but it wasn't clear if we were allowed to borrow them or not and when we saw the owners they didn't offer it so we let it be. So, overall, it was fine.

I have updated the listing to let guests know that we do not provide towels. I have also set out chairs and beach toys for the use of future guests. This house is an old house as are many along the shoreline, so yes the walls are not the greatest for sound. We rented the entire summer last year and did not have any issues with noise from either side, so my apologies that this was an issue during your stay. Thank you for your review...I appreciate the feedback :)

Salisbury Beach and Seabrook Beach have been the location of our family's vacations for 17 years. Purchasing a house at the beach was something we have always wanted to do and this house being right on the ocean is an added bonus. Many wonderful memories are made at the beach and we hope others get a chance to make their memories at our house.

Beautiful view of the ocean from all levels of the house. Walk out the door and you are right on the sand. Enjoy family and friend dinners on the large deck with the sun setting.
