We love staying here! The house is perfect for our family, and being right on the water is dreamy. The house is comfortable and tastefully decorated. The kitchen has what we needed, as we like to cook. The local vibe is so chill, and we love getting crabcakes at Chiefs! The neighborhood is super friendly and quiet. The hosts are always so hospitable and generous and helpful.

Once again we had a great time and I would highly recommend it. Beautiful views, swimming, kayaking, croquet, and other games and puzzles in the cabin were great for the whole family. The only complaint is that the bathroom door had to be jammed closed and didn't have a lock.

We love it so much here, this was our 4th stay! Beautiful, peaceful spot with a clean, comfortable cottage and everything you need. The beach is perfect. And the hosts are so kind and accommodating!

Beautiful house on the water. Property was not the cleanest upon arrival but host messaged us before saying her housekeeper called out last minute (trash under beds, ring in toilet). We may have missed this in the listing but just a heads up that the property owner does live next door with probably less than 10 feet between the houses so if you’re looking for privacy this is probably not the rental for you! Host was kind and attentive. Check in was in person with host. There was one interaction which left a slightly bad taste in our mouth as we requested more toilet paper (roll was mostly empty when we got there with two spares). Between the five of us we used one roll and when we started the second we messaged for extra which seemed to bother the host. Upon leaving the host was gardening outside and made a snide remark to my sister “Have enough toilet paper?” and snickered. This felt uncalled for and slightly rude. Otherwise had a good stay and the house was very nice.

We had an amazing time in this beautiful cottage! The owners were so kind and respectful. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay comfortably and peacefully. The view of the sunset is breathtaking! We can’t wait to come back again and keep enjoying every minute of it.

Wonderful, restful and beautiful stay.

This is the 4th time we come and we love it just as much as the first time. A great escape from Washington DC for a few days with such an amazing and peaceful view on the Chesapeake Bay.

Another great stay in this peaceful spot right on the water. We enjoyed amazing sunsets, eating at local restaurants and visiting the oyster festival. Can’t wait to stay again!

The house/host exceeded our expectations! Lori and Scott are fantastic hosts and live right next door. The sunset views are amazing and the house is well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay there again. There are fantastic, affordable dining options.

This is the 3rd time staying at Potomac River Getaway at McKays Beach, which should say it all. Very clean, homey, comfortable, unbelievable location and views. Lauri and Scott are so very friendly, as well. We'll be back again!
