The house was very nice. We spent most of the time on the porch with a nice breeze and view. The supplies were fine and had a fire one night. Not great for swimming due to alot of weeds but we had a pontoon boat and cruised to several sand beaches to swim. Host was very responsive and had no issues. Will stay again.

This cottage was nothing short of spectacular! It is two doors down from where my grandparents cottage was, same lake (Long Lake is the best of the Chian O’ Lakes in my opinion), same spectacular views and woods surrounding the property. It is perfectly on the side of rustic charm with modern convenience. The waterfront area with a fire pit and dock were wonderful for me and my family to enjoy morning coffee, launch a handful of boating adventures, and s’mores once the sun went down. I cannot possibly recommend this place enough and am already planning for a trip next summer! Thank you so much for helping me to share one of my favorite childhood places with my wife and kids!! Jim Underkofler (my grandpa) would be delighted to know what you helped me give to my family. We will absolutely be back and cherish the memories that we were able to create.

Great stay, comfortable and nice view on the best lake in the chain. The Terrain is rough with a steep trail to the lake. Older folks found this difficult.

Nice vacation

Nice cottage-love the porch. Nice location. For the price we pay the cottage needs updating and repairs. The dock needs to be fixed and it would be nice to have steps down to the lake.

The Lake is Calling

Nice cabin with multiple beds. Master bedroom was very nice with a great wide window overlooking Long Lake. It was great to have A.C. on the day it was 100F. The refrig was large and kitchen had lots of pots and pans.

Great location for a family vacation!

This cozy lake cottage was perfect for our vacation with our adult kids and new 3-month-old grandson. The view from the screened-in porch is magnificent. The layout of the house is perfect for families. The first floor is perfect for adults and the second floor is a kid's dream with plenty of space and multiple beds. Long Lake is a short boat ride away from great restaurants on the water. We will definitely be back!

Family 4th of July Stay

We had a wonderful week long stay as a family over the 4th of July. Check in and check out instructions were seamless. The cottage was well equipped for our needs. The screened in porch was perfect for evening board and card games. Angie was responsive and helpful with all of our questions.

Overall we are really happy with our stay. Angie was amazing to work with. She was so friendly and accommodating. The cabin was clean and all of our beds and pillows were cozy. We had Starlink internet service which worked great! New dishwasher and washer/dryer unit were so nice. We enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch listening to the birds and saw many deer walk through the yard. We were disappointed that you can’t swim off the dock due to all the weeds in the water. Also, the hill down to the water is not for older folks or friends with bad knees, but we made it work. We also enjoyed the lakeside fire pit. It was so beautiful and relaxing! Thank you for sharing your sweet, authentic cabin with us!

Two-star cottage for a five-star price

Advertising the cottage as "newly remodeled" is dishonest. We stayed here four years ago, so I have first-hand knowledge of how it looked then and now. The condition of the property has sadly declined since then. We paid a five-star price for a two-star cottage. I love Waupaca and Long Lake, but I can't justify staying here again. I feel misled on the front end, disappointed by the experience, and cheated by how much we paid for it.

Thank you for your review Dan. I have removed the newly remodeled from the description. We have had the property for the last 6 years and a few guests have been a little more hard on the property than others. I am very sorry you feel the way you do. I take every guest and every review personally and want to make sure every guest is happy. I wish you would have reached out to me while you were there to express this and see if there was anything i do have done to make it better. Again my deepest apologies.

Would not stay there again

The 1st line is incorrect. The only upgrade is main bedroom. The ceiling is falling down in the living room and about to fall down in the kitchen/dining. The dvd selection looks as though half are missing the actual disc, just a mess. The cabinets are a mess where pots, pans and dish towels are. The closet in the main bath is behind a curtain in the shower and everything is just thrown in there, hard to tell if towels are even clean. Same with the closet in master bath, just out in the open. There is NO water pressure in the showers, which we mentioned but were made to feel like we just had to deal with it. We ended up temporarily fixing ourselves. Be very careful with the hot water, literally will scald your skin! The outside could use a power washer and gutters cleaned out, there's trees growing out of them Last but not least the hill to the lake is steep and the rock steps are sliding down the hill so pretty unsafe especially at night cause the solar lights dont work. We managed for the week only cause we already paid for it but never again.

I am really sorry to hear you had a bad experience at the lake cottage. When we first purchased the cottage, the upstairs was completely gutted and new drywall, paint, railing, flooring and trim was installed. Also we did do minor touches on the main floor. We conversed many times via vrbo messaging app various times in regards to the water. In which I notified you the plumber was there the week before for the fixes. We were trying to pin point why the water pressure would drop and the water was so warm but after realizing you had 10 people showering one after the other the pressure is not going to maintain until the hot water heater can refill itself. We also turned down the hot water gauge on the hot water heater. So both issues have been resolved. Also, we are fixing the ceiling tiles this fall after the season is over. I have not had a chance in the 4 years since we made this cottage into a rental to check the DVD collection that was in tacked when I set up the cottage with DVD's, board games etc... and the pots and pans were also all in tacked the beginning of the season so not sure what happened but people do misplace things from time to time. The cottage was built in 1957 so space was scarce but I think that is what makes the cottage unique and special. It has a charm and character to it that we love and the views of the lake from the screen porch and primary are beautiful. We will make sure to put safety measures in place for the trail going down to the water so thank you for letting me know. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Beautiful view!

This was our 5th time renting on the chain and our first time renting on Long lake and on the west side of the chain. It’s a few minutes more to get to the area restaurants but in return you get a lot less car traffic and people. The screened in porch was a big hit during the thunderstorms. The view of the lake is worth the price. The only negative was the cell data service and no wi-fi. It probably wouldn’t have bothered us as much (I mean we are on vacation in the woods to escape the rat race) except we had a snafu with the airline and the luggage and were trying to communicate with the airline. Did I mention the view?

Great Lake cabin on Long Lake!

Great traditional lake cabin with nice updates on Long Lake. We had enough room to have four kids and three adults and loved the screened in porch overlooking the lake and the large, clean upstairs area for comfortably sleeping the kids.
