We’ve stayed at Big Ponderosa several times and have always found it clean, well stocked and comfortable. The hosts responded so quickly this year when we had problems with the gas fireplace. A few phone calls and follow ups from them had it working quickly. The golf course was challenging; we followed it up with a nice dinner at Wildflour. Definitely looking forward to another stay at Big Ponderosa next fall.

Lovely cabin! Communication was great, no issues with the property. An excellent jumping off point for hiking and accessing the Wenatchee and Leavenworth area.

Excellent cabin, beautiful big deck to hang out, watch the sunrise and bbq. Location is quiet and within a well to do, clean and safe neighborhood, but still in the woods with that woodsy feeling. Very close to a lake Wenatchee. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing stay

Great sledding

Great house for sledding and snow. It is a big house close to everything. Very comfortable home and big downstairs area. Great for teens. We come here every winter

Very nice cabin with lots of amenities

My family and I loved staying here. The cabin is laid out very well for families with lots of play space for kids (and toys). There were loads of amenities like gas grill, fire pit, game room, and 2 fireplaces. The host was super responsive and provided clear entry directions. We'll stay here again.

Fun at Kahler Glen

This is the second year we’ve stayed at this property. The kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable and house is clean. We had a fun round on the golf course and a fabulous dinner at the nearby Wildflour restaurant. Hoping to be back again next fall!

Best sledding

Great house. Kids had own area downstairs wonderful home close to Leavenworth and mountain. Great sledding right outside the home lots of snow.

Family get together

Our family of 8 adults and 6 children really enjoyed our 4 days at Kahler Glen. We rented several units for the different families and gathered for dinner at Big Ponderosa. Beauitlful weather, lake time each day, bike riding, hiking...something for each family to enjoy, thank you!

Great Place to unwind after a long day of work

We came to Lake Wenatchee to work on docks. It is hard work and our crew is exhausted when they head back to the house. This place was relaxing, clean and a perfect place to prepare our dinner and wind down.

The cabin exceeded our expectations! It was absolutely immaculate! We loved the rooms, kitchen, dining room and living room. The patio was extraordinary as was the view. We were able to watch our husbands as they played golf on the back nine! That was an extra special treat. Michelle was amazing to work with from beginning to end. She gave us so much great information!

Early Christmas Trip

Once in a while, you find a place That’s better than expected, and this is one of those. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed this place! The only problem was we should have stayed longer. The driveway is exciting both arriving and departing. Luckily, their HOA plows it after snowstorms!

Long weekend family vacation

The house was perfect for an enjoyable time. Beautiful views from the large deck! The house was stocked for everything we needed. Kind and quick communication with booking and the days leading up to our stay. You could tell there has been a lot of thought in the comfort of this home. Thanks!!!

Cozy Christmas!

We had a lovely stay over the Christmas holiday! House was great for our size (4 adults and 2 teens). The house was decorated for Christmas and the host even left us a gift which was very sweet and thoughtful. Upstairs and downstairs living rooms was awesome for having multiple family activities. All in all a great house!

Great location and accommodations for a family or group gathering

Great space for families to come together, celebrate and relax. There was plenty of space for each of us to have downtime and great spaces for coming together. We greatly enjoyed our time together. The kitchen had absolutely everything we need as we prepared every meal at the house during our stay. The kids loved playing in the back and running bare foot on the beautiful greens. Plenty of space to lay our weary heads and wake to enjoy morning coffee on the deck. Thank you for a beautiful and memorable stay. We will be back.

Awesome house for all ages!

The home is beautiful, well kept, and well stocked. We loved our stay! The driveway is no joke. Very steep. The only complaints we had, although they aren't really "complaints" but things to be aware of are: kitchen knives are not sharp and the fire alarms are VERY sensitive. We had to open the house up to cook breakfast.

Wonderful Holiday Weekend!

We stayed at the house with our daughter and another family with their children for the Thanksgiving weekend. The house was absolutely perfect. It was decorated for Christmas, which definitely added to the festive feeling of the weekend. It was so cozy, clean, and comfortable! There were a number of toys, puzzles, and games for the kids to play with. The linens and towels were all in good shape. Even the bathroom floors were heated! We cooked Thanksgiving dinner there, and before our trip, I was slightly concerned that we might not have everything we need to pull off such a large scale dinner. I was happily wrong! The kitchen was better stocked than most other VRBO's I've stayed in. It had everything we could dream up....and then several tools that we didn't even need. I was truly impressed with it. Overall a wonderful weekend was had by all. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Confortable but simple

The house driveway is a huge deal - we were scared to see no guard rails or signage indicating the house location and the road that leads to the house also does not have signages. The furniture is simple and a little dated and they did not have outside furniture which did not make much sense to us since the balcony is quite large. The house has a really nice view of the golf course and the sun exposure is just right. The water heater is not designed for multiple bathroom uses - we took a couple of cold showers to to the lack of hot water volume. Our stay was nice - the area was quite empty. Most of the homes were closed which it felt strange but it did not bother us. The distance to the city and to the grocery stores were a big deal for us - the house is 45 minutes from the closest supermarket. I would rate a seven out of ten - specially because of the lack of close amenities.

Thank you for the comment. We appreciate feedback so we can continually make improvements. For future guests, the house, garage and roadways do have address signage. Perhaps they missed those. The HOA does not allow for additional roadway property signs. Detailed photos and driving directions are in the app and provided before arrival. The driveway is a shared access driveway which is quite steep. There are many other homes nearby also with very steep drives. This can make drivers inexperienced with mountain roadways or winter weather conditions nervous. However, we nor our neighbors have had any issues. Guardrails are not on any of the community driveways. Guardrails would make snow removal extremely difficult and the drive more narrow. This guest from Florida did not experience issues with access to our knowledge. Photos of the interior and driveway in the listing are recent. Outdoor seating is advertised available in the summer and fall only when temperatures are not below freezing or potentially buried in snow. The hot water heater is standard size for a single-family home of this size. We’ve not had any issues with hot water supply. However, this may vary if you have a rather large group, just as it would in any household. Kahler Glen is about 25 to 30 minutes to Leavenworth depending on weather and traffic. There are a couple nearby convenience stores, such as Plain Grocery in Plain and many great restaurants within 5 to 15 minutes. They may have experienced holiday traffic over the Thanksgiving weekend. This is the start of the winter peak season here.
