Incredible winter getaway

We had an incredible time at the Hartland Hill Farmhouse. The property was perfect and had everything we needed for the week. We were delighted with the details of the property and felt at home from the moment we arrived. Spectacular

I cannot say enough about this fantastic property. Every little detail has been addressed to perfection. From the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, to the living areas, this property is immaculate and luxurious. The landscape is and setting is gorgeous and so peaceful. Hugh, the owner, is a gracious and welcoming host and a gentleman. I highly recommend this property.

Spectacular property!

This is a spectacular, breathtaking property. The house has every amenity one could possibly need. It has a chefs dream kitchen. The owner is extremely responsive when needed yet very respectful of your privacy. The farm creates a very unique and wonderful experience. There are hiking trails on the property and it is a 15 minute drive to Woodstock. Hugh is a fabulous host. We will definitely be back again!!

Once Again Exceeded Our Expectations

This past December, our family spent our second magical Christmas at Hartland Hill Farm. The home was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and appointed with all the extras. Hugh does everything first class and was a welcoming and accommodating host. Although we had no snow, we enjoyed daily walks around the scenic property and visited with the calves and chickens. The home is conveniently located near Woodstock and Quechee where we took day trips for shopping and dining. Our stay at Hartland Hill Farm couldn’t have been more perfect. We hope to return soon.

Wonderful fall visit to Hartland Hill Farm

My family and I were delighted with our stay at Hartland Hill Farm. The house was so well appointed and supplied with everything you could imagine from the kitchen supplies, sleep sounds in every bedroom, snacks galore and little dishes of chocolate by each bed. The property manager Hugh made our stay extremely comfortable and was there when you needed him and gave you your space when you didn't. The younger members of our group, and the adults as well, enjoyed interacting with the animals on the farm. Feeding the baby calf a bottle was a highlight as was chasing the chickens around the yard. You don't even have to leave the farm to go apple picking, there is an orchard right on the property. The farm is a short and beautiful drive to Woodstock for a day of shopping and dining in the quaint Vermont town. My best piece of advice is to bring an empty cooler or two for bringing home some of Hartland Hill Farm's meat offerings from animals raised on the land. The wagyu beef is out of this world and we stocked our freezer with New York strips, flat iron steaks and chicken. We will be making another visit to Hartland Hill Farm. See you soon Hugh.

Christmas Memories

Our family gathered at Hartland Hill Farm for Christmas. We spent months looking for the perfect home to gather our three daughters and their spouses and our four grandchildren. We found the perfect home in Hartland, Vermont. The beautiful farm house sits on 90+ acres in an idyllic setting. The recently constructed home has the latest and best features; the sun room with expansive windows with spectacular views and a wood burning fireplace, the large dinning room that was able to accommodate our family of 12 comfortably, five full baths and 2 half baths; five large bedrooms; an entertainment room; a large living room with magnificent views; floors are radiant heat; the kitchen is the finest we have ever seen or experienced; a 62" Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer and a 60" Wolf stove and two high end dishwashers. The home is beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture and exquisite antiques throughout. The bathrooms are spectacularly designed and decorated with high end fixtures. We have travelled extensively and stayed in several 5 star resorts and nothing compares to this wonderful property. All of us enjoyed the outdoors where we snowshoed, sled; hiked; got a hands-on tour of the working farm observing chickens, pigs and the Wagyu beef herd. Our host, Hugh, gave us an in-depth tour of the farm and provided detailed insight into sustainable farming practices. Hugh responded immediately to any question or need that we had. The experience exceeded our expectations and we departed Hartland Hill Farm with extraordinary memories. We will definitely we back soon! Thank you Hugh for sharing your beautiful home/farm with our family.

A beautiful farm in an amazing surrounding

Everything about this property is top notch, from the warm and helpful welcome of Hugh, the property owner - to the farm itself that has everything could you can think of in a 5 stars settings. The cherry on the cake is the opportunity to get every day fresh eggs from the farm as well as for meat lovers a unique source of locally raised Waygu beef. A true luxury experience in Vermont !

Hartland Hill Farm is a beautiful property with outstanding amenities. There is plenty of space, both inside and out, for a large and memorable family gathering. Plus an extremely well-appointed, professional kitchen with a stunning array of appliances. The host is very helpful and considerate, and has provided many extras to make Hartland Hill Farm particularly welcoming and comfortable to all visitors. It is a true home away from home. Dream Stay

We’ve stayed at this property twice this year. It is spectacular. Not only is the house beautiful and comfortable the host also sees to it that every guest feels special. From the fully stocked kitchen to the amazing products, the host/owner has not left out any details. My children absolutely live being on the farm and have enjoyed a few personalized tours. We can’t wait to go back!

Amazing house and experience!

The pictures simply don’t do the property justice! The house was spectacular and immaculate with unique amenities. The owner has provided a stocked pantry for guest use and a kitchen that will make even the most experienced Chef grin ear to ear. This was a great couple and family retreat but I can also see it as an incredible venue for a wedding or larger family gathering. I only wish my older kids could have experienced a working farm like this when they were younger, but my 20-year-old daughter had a blast. The nearby towns of Woodstock and Quechee are very nice with fun shops and good restaurants. Although if you love the outdoors, can appreciate sustainable and responsible farming, and have someone in your party that likes to cook, you may not want leave the property. Feed a calf, interact with other farm animals, eat fresh eggs from the hens, go hiking or biking on nearby trails or just take in the sunset from the deck. Truly a 5-star accommodation as the owner mentions and the farm experience was unlike anything we’ve done before! My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer, and I didn’t bring my hiking shoes, mountain bike and fly rod. We can’t wait to go back and already planning our next trip.

Hello Everyone. My name is Hugh, owner of Hartland Hill Farm, located in Hartland, Vermont.

I come from a long heritage of farming. From 1623 when my ancestors first settled in Jamestown, to their movement to the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia, there has been one common denominator: Farming.

Four years ago, I started on a journey of also becoming a farmer. I have spent the past 4 years studying animal husbandry to make this dream a reality and perfect this craft. When I started on this journey my vision was to raise vegetables and meat for farm use, focusing on Wagyu Cattle, Poultry and Pigs. To my amazement the process has resulted in some incredible tasting products.

As time passed, coupled with the incredible feedback from friends and family, I have come to a realization that these products and my farm are too special not to share with people. Without hesitation you can be assured that animal welfare is the sole priority to my farming enterprise. Simply put my animals live a very happy and healthy life. Their daily comfort is and always will be my first priority.
