Our family absolutely loved our stay at this amazing property! We wish we could have stayed longer. The kids loved our lazy days playing in the pool and taking in the beautiful views and wildlife. We had toucan and monkey sightings daily and the covered patio was perfect for the intermittent rain showers. Took advantage of the well stocked kitchen and large Weber grill to make several meals at home and just relax. Everything was well thought out, very clean, and the house manager Wai was available to answer any questions. Pura Vida!

Great stay!

This was our first time in Costa Rica and I couldn't be happier with the location and overall cleanliness and updates of the house. Our concierge was also extremely helpful in planning everything for us and answering all our questions. Overall it was a great experience and I would love to come back again as soon as possible.

Completed a wonderful week long stay at Casa Serena. The house was in great condition. There were plentiful pool and beach towels, and pool floats. The house concierge, Wai, took care of all of our excursion planning and checked in on us throughout the trip. The housekeeper, Gera, did a wonderful job, and a bonus that we didn’t expect was laundry cleaned and folded daily! The town of Manuel Antonio was lovely, with tons of great restaurants. The sunsets on Playa Espadilla can’t be beat. We did surf lessons, toured Manuel Antonio national park, went to Rainmaker. Absolutely recommend Casa Serena!

Best Casa in Costa Rica

Amazing place to stay! Beautiful, clean, tastefully decorated, relaxing, comfortable…can’t say enough wonderful things about this property! Best part is the infinity pool with close views of monkeys, toucans, macaws, hummingbirds, iguanas. What a jungle paradise! Wai and Gera were kind and accommodating to our needs as well.

Heaven in amazing villa

The most megical place we ever stayed. It’s not 5 stars villa it’s 10! The house is beautiful, very clean and full of beautiful local art, the infinity pool is so clean and the views/ nature is breath taking!!

Excellent stay

Absolutely amazing house curated by a joyful heart and maintained by such warm caretakers. Every request was taken care of expediently by Wai, the property manager and Gerardina, the housekeeper. We also relished delicious meals by Chef Michelle who cooked up a storm for our breakfast (monkeys came by for a sniff!) and dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Paradise

Casa Serena is a true gem! The staff were so friendly, responsive and helpful. The house itself is gorgeous and peaceful. We enjoyed sunrises listening to howler monkeys calling and bird watching. The house had every thing you could possibly need. Highly recommend.

Exactly as Described

Wonderful stay at Casa Serena! It was exactly as described. Our family of 4 (2 children, ages 11 and 7) absolutely loved it. We stayed for 6 nights, and could have easily stayed longer. The pool was amazing. We were visited by capuchin monkeys every day. The kitchen was fully stocked. The housekeeper and concierge, Wai, were fantastic. Can’t say enough good things about our trip. We’ll be back for sure.

Our stay at Casa Sere was absolutely incredible from start to finish. After a long day of travel, arriving to a fully stocked house and a private chef preparing dinner (arranged by Wai) immediately set the tone for a relaxing and special vacation.The home itself is stunning - beautifully maintained and incredibly spacious. We traveled as a family of 4 with two kids (ages 9 and 10), and there was more than enough room for everyone to feel comfortable. The bathrooms are large with excellent water pressure, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need.We spent countless hours enjoying the pool and outdoor space, which truly felt like a private oasis. The wildlife was beyond anything we expected—a troop of capuchin monkeys visited us every day (sometimes twice!), and our boys were absolutely fascinated watching them leap through the trees and play on the sunshade. We also saw squirrel monkeys, toucans, macaws, hummingbirds, butterflies, and plenty of lizards at night. Honestly, we experienced more wildlife right at the house than we did on some of our paid excursions.Gera was wonderful and took such great care of us during our stay. The house was always spotless, and having laundry done for us was such a luxury - it made us wish we could stay forever. Wai was also fantastic - very responsive and helpful with any questions we had.Only 5 minutes into Manuel Antonio the location is absolutely perfect. Cannot wait to go back! Pura Vida!

Beautiful home and vistas

We loved our stay in this fabulous home. It felt large, open and airy with beautiful views of the surrounding jungle. We are avid bird watchers and animal lovers and this house did not disappoint. We saw more birds and animal species at the house than we did in the national park. The pool was always clean and welcoming. Let me not forget to mention the amazing Gera. Her welcoming smile and homemade starfruit juice were wonderful. Wai was responsive to all our requests. The house was secluded but close enough to town to be very convenient. This house and crew are a gem. thanks for a lovely stay!

Finding the listing was somewhat challenging as we arrived after sunset and the street access was rather narrow and steep. Once we became accustomed to the access road everything else about the home was absolutely delightful! The maid had picked some starfruit and prepared some fresh starfruit juice for us to enjoy (nice touch)! everything about this house was delightful and very relaxing and comfortable. This home was a virtual oasis secluded on the edge of the Manuel Antonio National Park. My favorite place was on the back porch/deck/pool area that was shaded as well as sunlit. The chairs were plentiful and comfortable and the sounds and views were simply spectacular. I am an early riser and I enjoyed my morning coffee sitting back there and listening to the birds and monkeys wake up and start their day. The outdoor bathroom and shower were also a pleasant treat. One day we had Whiteface Monkeys playing over our heads and hearing the Howler Monkeys was unique and an audible surprise we all enjoyed. The beds were comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms were very well appointed. We did not require nor request the maid service but the home was very clean when we arrived. I highly recommend this home and would definitely return to enjoy again.

Jungle Oasis

This is an incredible property! Probably the best house we have ever stayed in and we are a well traveled group! We comfortably enjoyed the house with three generations of our family! The pool and outdoor shower are amazing. We took advantage of zip lining, massages at the home, and a chef who comes in to make dinner (a must do!)...all set up by Wai, who is responsive and lovely to work with! You can just sit at the house and watch wildlife all day...toucans, Scarlet Macaws, monkeys. Make sure to have binoculars and also a 4 wheel drive car! The home is in a neighborhood with well paved but incredibly steep roads! Don't pass up an opportunity to stay here!

This house was amazing! The experience was exactly as pictured—monkeys and all. We were surrounded by wildlife every day and saw scarlet macaws, toucans, howler monkeys, troupes of capuchin monkeys, a blue morpho butterfly, raccoon, leaf cutter ants and more. It truly felt like staying in the rainforest.Our concierge, Wai, was amazing. He helped with all our questions, booked our tours, chef, and massage, arranged groceries, recommended car rentals and restaurants, and made everything so easy.The home is very well cared for—the housekeeper, gardener, and pool service keep everything spotless and beautiful. The layout was perfect for our family of four plus 2 extended family members.The upstairs bedroom was a dream with huge windows overlooking the jungle. I loved falling asleep to the stars and waking up to birds. The howler monkeys were loud at first but made the experience even more authentic.I’d highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a unique rainforest stay. It’s close to beaches, the national park, and lots of restaurants. We absolutely loved it!

A Vacation To Remember!

Wow! What an amazing home to stay at. Words cannot even describe the experience my partner and I had here. From our concierge Wai to our house maid Gera and everything in between. Wai was phenomenal and so helpful in helping us plan a vacation of a lifetime and one we will remember forever. Everyone we met was so kind and helpful. The home itself was stunning with every detail to make you feel like you were in a tropical oasis. The pool and the location were great and 10-15 min from the beaches, restaurants and stores. Highly recommend Cerdo Feliz down the street and all the excursions planned for us through Wai. We went on a guided tour, did surfing, and learned how chocolate was made and the history. Thank you so much for all the hospitality and for the unforgettable experiences we had during our stay at Casa Serena.

Fantastic Views, Comfortable Retreat

I have been wow-ed by the listing for months and looking forward to our stay at Casa Serena. It did not disappoint. We were traveling with our three teen/young adult sons to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We spent three nights at Casa Serena as part of our trip. It was a treat to have a concierge (Wai) and a housekeeper during our stay. Wai helped us book a couple of excursions including an ATV adventure and national park guide. He also answered my questions during planning about rental cars and other activities. The housekeeper made us fresh squeezed juice from the star fruit tree in the yard. Wai met us at check in and showed us the house. We were drawn to the patio and balcony with amazing views of Manuel Antonio Park and the Pacific Ocean. Shortly after our arrival several white face monkeys appeared at the patio. It was a joy to watch them watching us and eating fruit from the trees. We also took advantage of the private chef for one night of our stay. Again, what a treat! We were comfortable hanging out as a family in the house, enjoying breakfast by the pool and a puzzle on a rainy afternoon. We also took advantage of nearby pizza delivery one night when it was raining so hard we did not feel comfortable navigating the steep winding road to the house in the dark. I would love to stay at Casa Serena again. It was an amazing experience!

House with views

We were very happy with our stay at this house! There are large windows all around the house and makes it feel like you are part of the jungle! Our 3 kids ages 8, 9, and 11 said it was their dream house…and we would agree. The pool overlooks Manuel Antonio National Park and we saw monkeys, a sloth, toucans, macaws, raccoons, deer, and a variety of other birds! We were HAPPILY surprised with our house cleaner, Gera. We didn’t really expect a house cleaner, or maybe someone that just switched out towels half way. Gera came every day and cleaned our house while we were out. She did our laundry, neatly folded and hung it, cleaned the kitchen, put our dishes away, kept the bathrooms clean, changed out pool towels and we even came back to fresh made juice from some fruit on the property! As a mom, this is a dream. To adventure with your kids all day and come back to all the chores done! She was a huge blessing and very sweet. We will miss her :) Wai was very welcoming and answered any questions in a timely manner. He also stopped in to say goodbye. We have no complaints! It’s not really walking distance to town (could be done but would take a while and there are lots of hills)..that didn’t bother us though as we had a rental car! It was nice to be a little removed. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely outstanding!

Our family of 5 (3 teen girls) stayed here for 3 days over our spring break trip to Costa Rica. It was BY FAR our favorite part of the trip. We could have done the entire vacation here. We showed up the first day and had white face monkeys in the trees in the front yard. They returned and ran around the back patio the next morning, and then a whole crew of spider monkeys came in later in the day. I would guess we saw close to 100 monkeys the first day. Plus a bunch of other wildlife, but that was by far the highlight. The house is absolutely amazing. Pics DO NOT do it justice. Most places feel smaller than the photos, and this was the opposite. The upstairs bedroom with two beds was enormous and had its own huge bathroom and then a stellar deck overlooking the pool. Owners suite equally as good opening onto back patio. The pool was lovely - very hot during the day, so we spent a lot of time in there. If you want beach time, there are a bunch of options in driving distance, either in or out of the park. We did the park mainly for the beach, as we’d already had the best nature experience at the house!Gera was spectacular - kept us cleaned up more than we needed, gave advice on beaches and places to go, and did our laundry - she had offered and I told her it was fine to do a little, but SHE DID IT ALL! Adore her. And she made us fresh squeezed star fruit juice from a tree out front that was out of this world. Book this place. It is SO worth it!

What a spot!

Thank you Wai and the entire Casa Serena crew. Our family had a lovely trip to Costa Rica. Casa Serena was spectacular. We heard and saw howler monkeys, spider monkeys and capuchins. We were visited by scarlet macaws, fiery-billed aracaris and yellow-throated toucans. Chef Kenneth was superb and we wanted to take the housekeeper, Greda, home with us. Thank you so much for the lovely escape, Wai and team. We couldn’t be more grateful.

Just fantastic!

If you can; book it! Every day we saw monkeys, Macaws, Tuscans and so much more. It is truly a special place. We loved it so much we didn’t leave for a few days as there was so much to experience there. Wai and Gera are fantastic. Wai assisted us with car rental from the house, excursions, and having a chef for an evening. By far one of the best experiences we’ve had.

My review won’t do this property justice… Everything was amazing. Gera the housekeeper kept the place so clean. The house was spotless everyday. Wai the concierge was always available to fill a last minute request for a tour. We utilized the chef 2 nights and could’ve have been more pleased. My wife and I and our 3 kids stayed here and the home was perfect. Pool was amazing. Outdoor bathroom with shower was such a cool spot looking out into the jungle. Very short drive into town and to the beach. You will not be disappointed! Amazing home with a phenomenal location!!

Private get-away in the hills above Manuel Antonio

Our family of two adults and two teenagers enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, spacious home at the end of the road which provided plenty of privacy and relaxation. We loved the private pool and the view of the ocean in the distance. From the house we saw (and heard) spider monkeys, howler monkeys, macaws, toucans, and a sloth. The house-keeper came to clean everyday of our stay. The home and grounds are very well kept. The concierge met us at arrival and at check-out. They will help you book tours and activities if you are interested. The road to the house is steep. 4WD and high clearance vehicles managed the road with no problem, but some of the taxis we used scraped the bottom of the car getting up the last stretch. We loved our stay at Casa Serena!
