When we first arrived it was 4:30pm. Our check-in time was 4pm, however, the housekeepers were still there preparing the house. It was no big deal, as we decided to circle around the town until they left. When we finally did to pull up to the house; we were hit with a smell that could have knocked a buzzard off a gut wagon. It was unbearably bad, so much so that the wife and kids started dry heaving. I hurried the family inside the house and tried to track down where the smell was coming from. At about 8pm I finally saw where apparently someone had hauled some trash outside and there was a stain on the concrete which looked like came from rotting meat blood. This along with the two trash cans (one from our house and one from the neighbors house ) were the culprits of the smell. I notified the rental company and they promptly cleaned everything down with about 3 jugs of Clorox and 2 jugs of fabuloso. On to day 2. The house suddenly lost A/C at around 7pm. The house got all the way up to 84 degrees that night when I finally decided to try flipping the breaker off and on for the unit. Luckily this did the trick and the home started cooling again. Lastly, The pool is very very small. The pictures online make it seem as if the pool is much larger, but trust me it’s tiny. Thus, when you get in it, it feels more like a hot tub. The summer sun in south padre just makes it scorching hot. Also the couch down stairs could use to be replaced and the grill outside is a 15in charcoal.
