This is a small modern vacation property/home. The interior is very clean and visually appealing. Beds are very comfortable. Several outdoor seating areas are available. Here are a few areas for improvement and/or constructive criticism: the one and only bathroom is quite small and I’m guessing because of air in the pipes, at times, the water wall forcefully “spit” out of the sink, spraying you with a good bit of water. There is no functioning icemaker. Cell phone service is nonexistent and the Wi-Fi is spotty. If you desire to be “disconnected” from technology, this is a good place for you. If you really depend on technology, then this location will be quite a challenge for you. The fenced in area outback seemingly was a good place for a dog, but our dog quickly found her way beneath the fence and escaped to the woods for a 20 minute adventure. Fortunately, she returned on her own, but not without some stressful moments. Be aware, medium and smaller dogs can easily escape to the outside world. The views are decent, but we really felt like we were more in a rainforest than at a mountain home. Tons of woods and foliage blocked a lot of the potential views. It is 5 miles from downtown Highlands and the last 0.5 miles are on a very windy, hilly gravel road that is not easy to navigate. Because the heavy rains during our stay, we witnessed parts of the road wash away/erode over the course of just one day. Overall, a nice property, but has some limitations.
