Wilmington Getaway
I travel every year with my family and rent homes. I always look at the reviews to help make my decision. So I'm going to be totally honest. My review might seem picky but I think people should know what my experience was like so that they can feel good about the decision they make.
The pros - nicely decorated, plenty of room, close to Historic Downtown Wilmington.
The cons - The neighborhood is low income and many of the houses are very sketchy. The privacy backyard fence blocks out the disorderly house and shop located directly behind this rental house. We didn't have any problems with the neighbors. But we were a bit surprised to find this nice of a home in this neighborhood. When two more family members came to join us, they said they drove around the block because they couldn't believe that this was the home I rented. The downstairs bathroom wasn't cleaned. We had to refill the propane tank for the bbq grill. It would have been nice to have more than one set of dish towels for the kitchen. Both of the upstairs bathroom towel holders fell off the wall. There wasn't a hide-a-bed for the extra person. There are three other identical houses right next to this one which is helping the neighborhood make a comeback. But it does have a ways to go.
