Picket Fence Cottage is a charming 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath home in a prime location—just a short walk to MTSU and the historic downtown square. Built in 1927 and beautifully restored, it blends classic character (original hardwood floors, crown molding, glass doorknobs) with modern updates.

The cottage features a comfortable living room plus a 55” smart TV with Apps for streaming with your personal login. The dining room seats 6 and offers a cozy space for meals and gatherings. The updated kitchen includes granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a breakfast nook, coffee bar, and filtered water—fully stocked for cooking.

All three bedrooms have queen memory foam beds, bedside phone chargers, room-darkening curtains and Roku TVs.
PLEASE NOTE: The middle bedroom is a walk-through, and the back bedroom also has a private courtyard entrance.

The full bath includes a tub/shower combo, and the tankless water heater ensures endless hot water and great water pressure!

Out back, the cottage hides a charming secret garden with a table for 6—perfect for relaxing or grilling in the evenings.

The cottage was even more adorable in person than in the pictures. It felt like I was staying in grandma's house with all of the creature comforts and the host was an expert in hospitality.

The house and host were absolutely wonderful. My family stayed here and they were thrilled with the accomodations and will likely book again in the future. Home is charming, super clean plus the furniture and beds are very comfortable.

Great communication with the owners! Very thoughtful cinnamon buns when we arrived! The house is comfortable, very nicely decorated, but also kid friendly with nice cozy touches. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect home away from home!

Rebecca and Dan are amazing hosts. We loved staying in the picket fence cabin. The cinnamon rolls were the best surprise and highlight of the stay for my boys. We will be sure to stay there again the next time we visit family!

Beautiful home

We enjoyed the cottage house! It was beautifully decorated and just a delightful place to stay. Location was convenient to downtown as well. Wish our stay was longer but if we are ever back in the area will stay again.

We came to Murfreesboro for a weekend convention and were blessed to find this charming home conveniently located near downtown, with shops and restaurants nearby. The home was clean and comfortable, and incredibly charming with all the amenities one could need. The hosts were always available and quick to provide any information we needed on the town, restaurants, etc.. We had no complaints and would definitelystay again.

Dan and I have called Murfreesboro home for 25 years. We raised our 3 sons here and all of them graduated from MTSU, so we are fans! We have always loved the charming vibe of our historic downtown square and enjoy owning a cottage so close by. Creating memorable experiences for others brings us joy! It is our hope this historic cottage will provide many special times for friends and families!

Murfreesboro is an awesome place to live and play and downtown Nashville is only a 35 min drive away! We are proud to be a Premiere Partner with VRBO. Book now for a 5 star hospitality experience!

This home is one house from beautiful and historic Main Street, and is in walking distance to the downtown square, which is a happening place! Every Saturday (spring, summer and fall) the square boasts a fabulous Farmers Market that is a MUST go to. On the first Friday of each month in the summer there is a live band on the square for “Friday Night Live”. Bring a lawn chair from the cottage and enjoy some great music! Enjoy locally owned restaurants, unique clothing stores, home decor and gift shops, bakeries and coffee shops.
